When we returned to the entrance of the packhouse, I found a few people standing outside with the guards beside them. I moved aside from Martin and looked over at them.

"George?" He turned around and looked at me.

"Clara?"

I laughed, grabbing him and hugging him tightly, "What are you doing here?"

"Didn't you say that we could come here?"

"Oh, yeah, I forgot."

I stopped smiling when I heard a growl behind me. I looked behind and found Martin, not really happy.

"This is George, we used to study together when we were children and he was my best friend then." I explained to Martin before he assumed anything else.

"Is that all?"

I nodded my head, "Yes,

"Okay, I will be in. Let me know if you need anything," Martin said before walking inside the packhouse and ignoring everyone's existence.

I was grateful to get my old pack members inside his packhouse and Martin showed a nice gesture to me by agreeing. The packhouse was barely filled, only unmated wolves stayed here.

"Oh my god, is that yo

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Chapter 112

Clara’s POV Peace has a strange way of feeling fragile—like glass that looks perfect until light catches a hidden crack. It had been three weeks since we learned about the baby, and life inside the Redwood mansion had finally slowed into something close to normal. The morning light poured through the windows like honey, warm and golden, filling the halls that once echoed with screams and battle cries. I’d wake before Martin most days. Sometimes, I’d just lie there, tracing the faint pulse beneath my skin, feeling it beat against my palm. Our child. Our miracle. The thought alone was enough to make my throat tighten. But lately, the nights had been different. I’d wake up drenched in cold sweat, my heart racing as if I’d been running. Every time, it was the same dream—dark woods, silver mist, and a shadowed figure whispering something I could never quite catch. “She will burn brighter than the sun,” the voice would hiss. “And the world will kneel or break.” I never told Martin ab

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Chapter 111

Clara’s POVThe second trimester came with surprises I didn’t expect. For one, my energy returned — like the moon had pulled life back into my veins. The nausea faded, replaced by cravings that made even Isreal question my sanity.“Let me get this straight,” he said one afternoon, watching as I spread peanut butter over roasted yam. “You want to add pepper sauce and honey?”“Yes.”He blinked. “You’re not human anymore.”“Never said I was.”Martin, sitting across from me, didn’t even react anymore. He just slid the jar of honey closer, resigned to my chaos.“She’s growing a hybrid,” he muttered. “No rules apply.”Despite the constant teasing, the pack adored me — or rather, the life growing inside me. Every day someone left something at the door: a knitted blanket, a handmade bracelet, sometimes even herbs for “easy labor.”It was strange, feeling so… cherished.I had spent most of my life being feared or challenged. Now, every smile, every gift, every soft glance was a reminder that m

Clara’s POVThree weeks later, peace had become almost unnerving. No battles. No blood. No ghosts lurking in my dreams. Just the rhythmic hum of life returning to normal—birds in the trees, wolves patrolling in calm shifts, and Martin constantly hovering around me like I was made of glass. At first, it was sweet. Then it became annoying.“Martin,” I groaned one morning as I sat up in bed. “You don’t need to follow me to the bathroom.”He didn’t even look guilty. “What if you faint again?”“That was one time,” I said, glaring. “Because someone”—I shot him a look—“thought it would be a good idea to feed me raw deer meat because ‘the baby needs protein.’”He crossed his arms, unbothered. “You didn’t complain about protein when you were chewing my neck last night.”“Martin!” I threw a pillow at him, mortified.Isreal’s voice came from the hallway, far too loud: “Oh, so the Alpha Couple is awake! Should I start making breakfast or leave you two to… your neck-protein exchange?”“Isreal, I s

Clara’s POV I didn’t sleep much that night. It wasn’t fear keeping me awake, or even the nausea that kept rolling through me it was something gentler, quieter. Hope. Martin insisted I rest, but instead, I found myself tracing patterns across my stomach under the blanket, wondering what kind of life could grow in a world that had seen so much death. Was this the Creator’s way of giving us another chance? By dawn, I gave up on pretending to sleep. I slipped out of bed carefully, not wanting to wake him. His hand twitched when I moved, searching for me out of instinct before falling back onto the sheets. Even in sleep, he reached for me. The kitchen smelled like chamomile and cinnamon. Isreal was already there, sitting on the counter and eating an apple like he owned the place. “Morning, sunshine,” he said, voice annoyingly bright for someone who’d almost drowned in rainwater forty-eight hours ago. “You look like someone who’s seen a ghost or made one.” I rolled my eyes. “Mornin

Clara’s POV Morning came slowly, brushing through the curtains with pale light. I woke before Martin, which was rare. His arm was heavy across my waist, warm, protective, as though even in sleep he still feared losing me to something unseen. The storm from last night had softened into a cool mist. I could still hear the drip of water from the roof into the garden outside. The air smelled clean—new, like something had been washed away. I turned to look at him. His lashes lay dark against his cheeks, his lips parted slightly. For a moment, I forgot everything the tomb, the fire, the chaos of the night before. There was only this: him, me, silence. Peace. Then, a dull wave moved through my stomach. It wasn’t the usual morning tiredness or nerves. I frowned, pressing a hand over my abdomen. It had been happening for a few days light nausea, dizziness but I’d brushed it off as stress. Now it was stronger. “Clara?” Martin’s voice came low and groggy. “Why are you up?” “Just… couldn’t

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Chapter 107

I didn’t sleep that night. Every time I closed my eyes, I could hear the steady beat of Martin’s heart beside me, warm and strong. I could feel his hand resting gently across my stomach, as if protecting something he didn’t yet fully understand but somehow already loved. The fire was gone, the storms had passed, and for the first time in a long time, there was quiet. When I finally slipped out of bed, dawn hadn’t broken yet. The house was dark, the kind of darkness that was neither frightening nor lonely just still. I pulled on my robe and stepped out to the balcony, letting the cold air fill my lungs. The world below looked clean, washed by rain and renewal. I placed a hand over my belly, uncertain, afraid even, but the thought of life of new life within me felt unreal. Could the same body that had been trained to kill, to destroy Alphas, truly be capable of creating life? It felt like a cruel joke from the creator — or maybe, her redemption. “Couldn’t sleep?” Martin’s voice br
