In a distant town of Cordova...

The sun had long dipped below the horizon, casting the countryside in hues of deep indigo and shadow.

The young boy's parents were worriedly looking for their missing son.

The distant howls of coyotes echoed in the stillness as Helena and Robert trudged through the tall grass, lanterns in hand. The light from the flame flickered, barely enough to cut through the encroaching darkness.

"Jacob!" Helena called out to her son, her voice hoarse from hours of yelling. Her heart pounded in her chest, a mix of exhaustion and panic.

"He's probably just wandered off again," Robert said, trying to keep his tone steady, though his clenched jaw betrayed him. "You know how boys are."

Helena shot him a glance, her worry etched into every line of her face. "Not this far, Robert. Not this late."

Their boots crunched over dry leaves and twigs as they neared the edge of the property. The old barn loomed ahead, its silhouette jagged and broken against the night sky. Once a

She'll be beaten with a whip for every minute she's late." He says with fright and horror in his eyes."It is not new to her if that happens. Maybe she ran away?""Don't be absurd, Magda. If she did, do you think they wouldn’t find her?" Jacob intervened."Everyone knows that if you apply to be part of this you need to finish the month whether you want to stay or not." Fear engulfed her whole being she couldn’t even react properly to the excruciating pain that she was experiencing. She tried to run, but what can a weak Omega that was stabbed do? She cried as her friend walked towards her with a knife still in hand. She crawled away and cowered behind a tree, wishing that this was all a dream or a prank gone wrong. She pleaded, to her friend, to the moon goddess, to anyone --to please save her.She tried to shout, but before she could, her throat was slashed. She could feel and hear her blood gushing out her throat, pouring like waterfalls onto the ground, soaking the green grass beneath her feet. VESPER woke up from her slumber. She could smell her blood and she hated it. For her, there’s nothing more shameful than smelling your own. The whole room reeks of the scent of her blood from the beatings she got last night, she sniffs the air and aside from her, no one’s inside or nearby. She’s alone. She could feel her body healing itself, too fast, and she needed to slow the process. After her night watch, she injured herself before returning to the basement. This is to reopen the wounds and to lose more blood, but she still heals fast. Something she doesn't need. She needs to look helpless, weak, and docile. "What I did last night was not a good idea. Now I can only feel hunger and exhaustion." She mumbles to herself.Being alone with only her thoughts, she began to recollect the reason why she was there. "I’m sure it was that woman. What’s her name again? Ah! I remember. It’s Selene." She thought to herself. She was jolted back to her senses when she heard the door being open.

The heavy rain outside beat against the windows of the study, its rhythmic pounding creating an atmosphere of confinement, as though the storm mirrored the turmoil within Alpha Qillalon. The dark wood panel in his room was dimly lit, casting shadows that danced on the walls, reflecting the unspoken weight of his worry.“Why haven’t they answered our calls?” He asks himself as he paces back and forth in his room.He tried to reach his father and Vesper to no avail. The same goes for Velmont and Gertrude. They even try to call Tony, Vesper’s blood donor, but he, too, is not answering—a thing that the detectives find alarming, as Tony always has his phone in his hands. It had been more than 48 hours since the incident and none of them heard anything from Vesper, Tony, and his father. Gertrude advises him to sleep it out, but he can’t. The sight of Vesper’s head blown in half, barely hanging on her neck, was not a sight he had ever dreamed of seeing. The Citadel is still in disarray. With the news of Vesper's death, it spread like wildfire. Her Omega friends can't help but wonder how safe they are in the Citadel, as Vesper is not just an ordinary Omega like them, she's an Alpha's mate, and yet she died.Another issue is the flash drive and the attack in the digital room. The towering structures, as ancient as they were imposing, stood still against the darkened sky, but there was a buzz of urgency and fear in the air. The usually composed servants and guards of the Citadel moved swiftly, whispering among themselves in hushed voices as if the very air around them had been tainted by something ominous.Alpha Barkus’s

In the sterile, dimly lit room in the Citadel’s infirmary, it felt heavier with each passing minute. The scent of antiseptic was sharp in the air, but it did nothing to mask the oppressive silence that filled the space. Alpha Zane stood beside the bed where his wife, Eleanor, lay unconscious, her fragile form surrounded by the flickering light of the candle nearby. The normally fierce and proud woman, whose presence could command a room, now looked utterly vulnerable. Her face was pale, her breathing shallow, and the haunting remnants of the entity’s possession clung to her like a dark shadow.Alpha Zane had not left her side since she had returned to the manor. He hadn’t eaten, hadn’t slept. His hands were gripped tightly on the edge of the bed, his knuckles white. His mind replayed every moment of their fractured relationship—every harsh word, every hurtful action—and now, the consequences of his decisions seemed to echo in his chest like a crushing weight."I should've never rejecte

In a distant facility in the heart of Pennsylvania. The stone halls of the hidden structure were shrouded in shadow as the Headmaster received the message he had been waiting for—for a very long time.“We have the Regen Project within grasp. The entity had it in his hands…” Jacques smirked proudly. “Or should I say it's in the bird's claws... No worries Headmaster, it will be here in no time.” He uttered playfully. The Headmaster, an ancient figure whose very presence emanated power, used all his remaining strength to sit on his bed.“I can’t wait to have it on my hands. Hurry and order someone to meet the entity halfway.” He demanded urgently. Jacques nodded and hurriedly motioned to the personnel guarding the Headmaster’s room to send someone out. Mustering all the strength he had, the Headmaster removed the IVs on his hand and rose from the bed that had been his haven for several years. He limply made his way to the floor-to-ceiling window. The darkness outside made his reflection

As the sun slowly settled down and the night took charge, casting the world in deep shadows, Quillion Van Kirk’s black Volvo sped through the winding roads toward the distant town, its headlights cutting through the darkness like a blade. He kept his eyes fixed on the road, the low hum of the engine the only sound that filled the vehicle’s interior. Beside him, in the passenger seat, Vesper’s body slumped, her body resting in the front passenger seat, purple-colored nails and pale skin. The remnants of her injuries—brutal and fatal—were still fresh in the surrounding air. Vesper’s pulse was still as silent as a calm sea, though the shattered remnants of her skull and missing brain told a different story. Her clothes were soaked in dried blood that had already stuck to her skin. Her once-pale skin was mottled with bruises, cuts, and burns from the silver bullets that had torn through her. The violent confrontation with Eleanor had left her on the brink of death, a corpse in all but n
