MAD EGO

ROYAL PALACE,

GRENALIA, MORNING HOURS

Harold Horeby traversed the length of the courtyard,

engrossed deeply in thought as the morning wind blew gently across the open space,

sending dead leaves racing across the courtyard in a haze of dust.

Harold paid no attention to the servants greeting and bowing to him as he marched on steadily on the cobbled floor.

He was reminiscing about his trip a few days back to the lair of the witches on the outskirts of Grenalia.

His mind particularly focused on the declaration of the Sisters, telling him with malicious glee that they had secured a reasonable amount of Wolfsbane from Burnt Side Forest.... without his direct assistance.

Harold grew nervous at how powerful and too independent the witches were becoming for his comfort and was having a dilemma as to how he would deal with them.

Harold was still musing to himself when a hoarse voice called out to him from across the courtyard.
