Chapter 2

The ride to the event center came to an end as fast as it began, Ellie came down from the car and Loris came to meet her, Loris was putting on a floral gown that pulled at her feet hiding her shoes, the gown was sleeveless and backless exposing her back and shoulder, she adored her neck with silver pearls and glitters earrings with a little makeup, while Ellie was putting on a red short pencil gown with feathers adoring the neckline covering her shoulders and neck a golden bracelet on her wrist, her grey hair in a bun, with little makeup, she waved Loris goodbye while Lucas followed her in. A hostess greeted them and left them to the high table and their allocated seat. Ellie could feel the stares at her, and she wondered if the news about her postponed marriage has gone viral.

The event coordinator took the stand and picked the microphone she was from Azure pack “Welcome everyone, welcome to the 11th Full Moon Feast, it is nice to have you all here again, this celebration comes just in five years and I am glad to announce the opening of today’s feast” She paused and gave everyone a smile “ I would love to introduce the Alphas among us today. We have in attendance Beta Mike representing Alpha Sebastian from the Sunray pack” Beta Mike stood up for recognition

The seats crowd clapped and cheered especially the members from Sunray pack

“Alright, that’s good, we have Alpha Ellie from the Moonlight pack” Ellie stood up and waved

There was noise from the crowd though the Moonlight pack members cheered, Ellie could hear the talks and gossip from the crowd, the insults and bad words meant for her, wolf hearing. She sort Loris’s gaze who gave her a reassuring look. Ellie sat back

“Well, that was a heart warming welcome, now we introduce you to the Gray Pack, Alpha Asher” The crowd went wild again “Okay, okay, let’s welcome the Fuchsia pack, Alpha Patrick and the Azure pack Beta representing Alpha Taylor” The crowd screamed and she went on to introduce the 12 packs.

Ellie was busy chatting Loris on her phone, she stopped when she saw the introduction was done.

“We should have started with a wedding ceremony between two of our Alphas but it won’t be possible and that is between Alpha Sebastian and Alpha Ellie”

All eyes turned to look at Ellie and she wished the floor would have swallowed her. She could still hear them all, some even went to the extent of calling her a slut, different names as to why Alpha Sebastian does not want to marry her yet, some even said she was pregnant. She fisted her hand on the table in anger, how dare they judge her like they knew her.

“Calm down Ellie” She heard Loris said to her through the mind link, but she didn’t look at Loris's direction

“It is a pity the Crimson pack could not join us this year, who knows maybe our mates are part of the pack and we couldn’t meet them. Anyways we shall continue the Full Moon Feast, let’s all rise to our feet”

Everyone rose to their feet and Ellie went to the top stand and took the glass set a side, she filled it with the red wine beside it and faced the crowd, everyone also had a glass in hand.

“To the Moon Goddess” Ellie called and everyone repeated after her and took the drink, after drinking the whole wine in the cup, they placed it down and Ellie went back to her seat.

Everybody started mingling among themselves, getting to know each other, Ellie escaped from the high table but got stopped by Alpha Asher.

“Running?” Asher smirked down at her

“Asher!” Ellie gave him a fake smile

“So, your husband to be stood you up today”

“Well it seems so, and he is your friend Asher” Ellie crossed her hands

“Maybe you are right, just as you are my friend too, or aren’t you Ellie?” He asked stepping closer to her, Ellie didn’t want to look weak by stepping back, but deep down, Asher disturbed her. “ Dance with me”

“No”

“I didn’t ask” her grinned taking her hands and leading her to the dance floor, for any one who sees them, they might think she was having a friendly chat with Asher.

“I don’t want to dance with you Asher, and you know that “ She said purposely stepping on his foot, instead of letting her go, he pulled her closer, they were now standing chest to chest.

“Have anyone told you, you look fantastic today?”

“I don’t care what you think!” She snapped

“Watch your tongue now will you, you don’t want me as your enemy now” Asher said in a mean voice

“Let go of me” She told him, trying to pull a way from his strong grip.

“Ellie, you are creating a scene, stop struggling” He pulled her close to whisper in her ears

“You know what I want, don’t you? Stop pretending as if you don’t” He snarled “Just look at how disgraced your pack members look, no one wants to get close to them, just because of your failed marriage, aren’t you ashamed?”

Ellie was feeling hurt and Asher was not helping, even his grip on her waist was not helping, all she wants is to escape, from everything, everyone.

“Sebastian is and will never be your mate, I fail to understand why you are so fond of him”

“Because he is far better than you Asher”

“Wrong answer Ellie” He drew her close “You might be an Alpha but you are weak, very weak”

“ Shut up, SHUT THE HELL UP!” She screamed and not only did Asher kept quiet, the whole hall went quiet. Ellie had had enough humiliation for her day, she stepped back from Asher glaring at him. “You suck, you idiot”

Before she knew it a blow landed on her jaw, the force pulled her back several steps, she was not expecting the Assault.

She managed to look up at Asher and she could feel his wolf at the surface. Ellie saw that Lucas wanted to interfere.

“Stop” She said through the mind link and Lucas looked at her bitterly, she knew he was mad at Alpha Asher, she saw Beta Mike from the corner of her eyes. To Asher she said “Taunt me all you want, I won’t hold it against you Asher, I’m done with Sebastian and I have nothing to do with you ?” With that she turned and ran out of the hall with eyes following her, she told her pack members not to follow her and she would be fine.

Ellie ran out, far away from the event center, she was sweating going slow because of her outfits.

“Let me take over” She heard Helen said from the back of her head

So she stopped, looked around her, she removed her clothes and changed into her wolf form, white with gray eyes, she grabbed her clothes in her mouth and began running, with no actual direction. After running for hours she stopped by a stream and took a drink, she set her clothes aside and walked into the river, the water was warm, she couldn’t even hear the creaking of her bones as she shifted back to her human form.

She went deep into the water and came up after 10 minutes for air, that was when she heard the sound, breaking of logs, but before she could make way to her clothes, a big black wolf with blue eyes, the wolf was huge and immediately Ellie knew he or she must be an Alpha but she has never seen a female Alpha this big before. The big black wolf stood in front of her at the river bank and stared down at her, just then the most intoxicating smell she has never perceived came to her and she made a mistake of inhaling deep, she nearly choke. No one said a word as they both stared at each other, he didn’t move or even gave her a chance to change, she notices the water was getting cold, if she delayed getting out of the water she would catch a cold.

She raised a little showing her head to her neck, she cleared her throat, the words felt heavy in her lungs “Excuse me, but can just turn around for me to change?”

No answer

“It is the Full Moon Feast today, I’m sure your pack is aware of that, I just lost track when running and decided to take a bath here, I hope you don’t mind?” One thing she was sure of is that, the wolf in front of her was not a rouge, this wolf belongs to a pack, and if she has crossed to their borders, she is deeply sorry.

“I know, you can understand every word I’m saying, so please turn around and let me change, it’s getting cold here”

The big wolf moved back a bit but didn’t turn around, Ellie rolled her eyes knowing that this big arrogant wolf would not be giving her any privacy so she took matters into her hands. She glued her gaze on the wolf's beautiful blue eyes as she rose from the water and walked towards the water bank, the wolf remained in position making Ellie cause under her breath, the wolf had no curtsey, she was in her lady's glory as she majestically walked to the tree where her clothes were, she picked it up and gingerly changed back to her party dress, her hair still wet.

“Well you can actually change too” She said getting pretty annoyed with the big black wolf

The wolf sniffed her and turn away to change behind a tree, Ellie waited patiently now, eager to know who the big black wolf is, she was sure she has never come in contact with the wolf yet it looked so familiar to her. A very tall, handsome godlike figure approached her. He has a very strong scent attached to him and he looks intimidating, Ellie stepped back a bit when he stopped in front of her. Definitely he is an Alpha, and the only missing Alpha at the feast was the Crimson Alpha, is this Alpha ……..

“What are you doing here?” He asked, even his voice was enticing

“What…what?” Ellie stammered lost in his captivating eyes

“I hate repeating myself” Was his answer, his face remained blaming and emotionless as he looked down at her.

“I just told you if you were listening before” She replied annoyed now

He only raised an eyebrow at her and crossed his arms “Do you know you are in an unwanted pack border?”

Now she placed her hands in her waist “Of course I know this, I am not a fool”

“Now that you mentioned It, you look like one”

“What? How dare you?” Ellie knew if it was possible she would have been smoking from her ears “Do you know who I am?”

“Alpha of the Moonlight pack”

Well, he actually knew who she was, Ellie did not let that bothered her as she stood her ground. “ And you must be the evil Alpha of the Crimson pack”

His lips twitched a bit and that was all she got from him “You are a fool for thinking you can run through this woods freely, like you own the place”

Ellie's jaw dropped, she has never in her life seen someone this rude, uncaring and cold before, Asher was not this worse, but the Alpha in front of her is a grade one manic. No wonder people gossip about them though they fear the Crimson pack, they are the most powerful pack among the 12 packs, they rarely relate with other packs, cause they consider themselves high and others are beneath them “I see that the rumors are true then”

“I should then live up to the rumors then” He said

“What?”

“By killing you”
