Killian’s POV

“You don't trust her, do you?” Logan’s voice reached my ears as he stepped into my office.

“What do you mean?” I asked, looking up from the papers on the table.

“Her. The new girl,” he continued.

“Oh, that. When has anyone ever gained my trust that easily?” I replied.

“You can never change. You keep answering every question with another question,” Logan complained.

“Hmm,” I replied and relaxed on my chair.

“Answer my question,” Logan pressed.

I looked up, looking into his green eyes. “Not yet.”

“Yet?” Logan asked. “Oh, I see. You're going to test her.”

“Don't I ever?” I replied and he smiled.

“At least let me test her,” Logan said, looking very enthusiastic.

I smirked and answered. “Be my guest.”

I watched him get his ass swapped the next day.

Celeste was stubborn. I knew that the seconds she challenged Logan. But as I watched her now, something shifted inside me. Just a little.

She had her arms crossed while watching the men train. Logan walked to my side, and

Celeste’s POVMoonstone Howl PackI cleaned the packhouse floor. My hands moved by themselves, sore and split from cleaning yesterday's grime for hours. My knees hurt, pushing against the tiled floor that cut into my skin. The scent of booze mixed with the faint metallic smell of old blood, the stink of this place, and all it stood for.“Hurry up, Celeste! I'm getting tired of you!” A harsh voice yelled at me from behind. That was Jared. He was the least sober in the pack and was always lazing around. “Did you hear me weirdo?” Jared asked, walking closer to me. I raised my gaze, my blood boiling as his dirty boots stained the tiles I had just scrubbed. “I told you to speed up. Don't tell me you're deaf too?” He yelled. “I'm trying my hardest,” I answered. “Try harder,” he barked, kicking the bucket of soapy water beside me. The dirty water spilled over the floor, ruining hours of work. A knot formed in my throat as I looked at the mess, but I pushed it down. “Sort it out, Twain,

Kaidën,” she cried.“Enough! He walked in like he owned the room. I had never expected him to come here. What the freaking hell did he want? His eyes scanned every inch of my room, and I became scared. “Not bad,” he said, nodding.“Huh?”“You kept the room clean,” he added. Was that him mocking me? Or was I just too serious?“Kaidën,” I called hesitantly. I flinched when his cold gaze snapped to mine. “Um, I mean Alpha Kaidën. What do you want? Did I do something wrong?”“No,” he answered and looked at me. "I wanted to see you."This time, I was confused and held my breath. My eyes widened. Me?“Breathe, Celeste. Killian’s POVI got out of the car. My men did the same as our cars packed before the Moonstone Howl pack. Taking off my sunshades, I took in the view of the large house, pleased with the architectural design. The smell of smoke and marijuana hit my nose as my men and I walked into the entrance hall. The men stood at once as if they sensed a threat. They moved back and dropped their smoke until an escort came. He was dressed just like my men, in a black suit and tie. “Welcome, Alpha Killian,” he greeted. “Alpha Kaidën is waiting for you. Please follow me.”I followed with my men, letting him lead the way. The other men continued smoking their cigars. The hallway was filled with the movement of our shoes, leading to a larger hallway. Two bodyguards dressed like The escort stiffened as they watched us get closer. “Alpha Kaidën’s guests,” the escort spoke and they took one more look at me. I watched the escort go closer and whisper into their eyes and they froze. “A…alpha Killian,”

Celeste's POVI stood frozen, unable to understand what was going on. “Come,” Killian said. I felt more afraid of him than Kaidën. I swallowed, hesitating before stretching my hand to take his. The moment our hands touched, I felt a spark. I noticed his eyes light up like he felt it too. His long fingers held mine firmly and I shivered. “Do you have anything you would like to take with you?” He asked softly but it felt cold despite his calmness. I looked around, and my eyes rested on Kaidën’s. He looked pissed and could tear me apart in seconds. “Yes, a few of my things,” I answered remembering my father's journal. “Go get them,” Killian instructed and I nodded, and moved my hands but they stayed still. I looked at my hands and Killian finally let go. I ran to my room, packing everything I could find in my small worn-out bag. My eyes caught the journal on the floor and I hastily picked it up and left the room.I returned to Killian and he held my hand and led me out. The men mo

Celeste's POVI kept staring at my hand, expecting a miracle, but nothing happened. It was all my imagination.I was perfectly fine. At least, I said to myself a hundred times. When I was sure I had convinced myself, I laid back in bed and inhaled. There was something odd about the smell. It smelt a bit woody, just like Killian.I inhaled again, and this time, the scent grew stronger.“What the heck?” I muttered, sitting up on the bed.I traced the smell to the sheets. It grew stronger and I brought my nose down.I had never been able to pick the scent before. Not as strong as this.I looked around, and my eyes locked on the full-length mirror across the room.My hands reached for the shirt, moving the collar down and stared at the birthmark. I waited, expecting something, but nothing happened.I sighed and looked away. It was pointless. Why did I ever think something would happen?Standing up, I moved towards the door and my bone ached. I had moved too fast and I fell to the floor.“

Stop.I opened my eyes, blinking, and they settled on his."Killian," I whispered. My eyes slowly adapted to the light as I winced. "Why are you here?" I asked."You fainted last night." He spoke softly. He was sitting at the foot of my bed, his arms around my head. His eyes, not leaving mine. My throat felt dry, and I swallowed to make it wet."W…what?" I stuttered. "What are you?" he whispered."Huh?"
