LOGAN’S POV
“There you are!” I called out to Gertrude and Luke. Both of them were sitting on the highest rock in the backyard of the palace, my usual spot.
I approached them with an expression of surprise laced round my face. I was surprised that the both of them were talking instead of barking at each other.
“What are you two doing here?” I asked with a straight face.
“Just discussing, Master,” Luke replied.
“Discussing? I didn’t know the both of you could do that. Usually, the only way the both of you get along is by shouting at each other. Isn’t this surprising?” I asked with a slight grin on my face.
I took Gertrude’s strings and tied it round my waist as Luke and I walked into the palace.
“You’ve received the regular reports from the patrolling guards
LOGAN’S POV“The sacred pot…that protects their palace?” Gertrude asked with a puzzled look on his face.“The sacred pot is a type of pot that places a protection barrier over a palace. That barrier only prevents long range attacks fired into the palace. It also notifies the kingdom when enemies walk into the barrier. The protection barrier only protects the palace from the outside and it’s vulnerable to attacks on the inside,” I concluded.I inhaled and exhaled in order not to break my concentration.“Almighty moon goddess, I’m very sure that your revelations are very correct. But this is too hard for me to believe,” I confessed while wearing a hard scowl on my face.“But where is this sacred pot?!” Gertrude cut in.I glanced at him with rage in my eye. Just my glance alone could paralyze a soldier. My bloodthirsty eyes was what I inherited from my father. This was the reason he was feared during his reign.“Almighty moon goddess, if you could please tell me the culprit, I’ll do what
LOGAN’S POV“Luke!” I called out. “You will visit me later on. I have something to discuss with you.”“I will, Master,” he gestured a bow before leaving the meeting room.I tied Gertrude’s string around my waist before leaving the meeting room.“It’s strange to see Luke acting so formal,” he said while I walked through the hallway. “It’s rather funny, not strange, don’t you think?”I was so lost in my thoughts that I forgot about Gertrude. I hadn’t any idea that Gertrude had been speaking behind me.“Hey! Hey!” He yelled out.I swiftly rushed back to reality. “Yes?”“You’ve been thinking a lot lately, Logan. You need to take it easy on yourself. Thinking won’t bring you anything. Let’s have a drink this evening and talk about all this,” Gertrude said.“I should quit thinking? No I can’t. My job is to protect the kingdom and as it is now, the kingdom will crumble if I don’t think of a way to get us out of this mess. If I don’t think, I’ll become an idiot like you!” I yelled furiously.
AMBER‘S POVI opened my eyes to a very bright afternoon. I squinted my eyes as I rose up from the bed and headed for the bathroom. I had just woken up from last night's slumber. I would’ve woken up earlier if it wasn’t for Grandal. He cried so much that I didn’t get even one second of sleep last night. He only slept when the sun had just started to rise so I also took the opportunity to get some rest.Just when I returned from the shower, I heard a knock on the door.“Who is it?” I asked with a puzzled look on my face. I wondered who it could’ve been. Though I had a feeling that it was alpha Scott coming to check if the room was to my liking.“It’s me, Beth!” She exclaimed from behind the door.“Oh, Beth. Come in,” I said.Beth came into the room wearing a wide grin on her face. She looked extra active today.“Good morning, Amber!” She greeted me as she ran over to where Grandal laid. “Good morning, Grandal! Isn’t today a lovely day?!”She had just woken up Grandal that kept me up all
LOGAN’S POV I woke up when the sun had just begun to rise. I went into the bathroom to shower and freshen up. After a while, a maiden brought Gertrude’s back. I had asked her to bathe him. Gertrude and I were ready to leave for the Howling dawn pack. The only person delaying me was Killian. He hasn’t arrived. Gertrude and I decided to have a drink. It was when we were about to take a sip from our glass when we heard a knock on the door. “Come in, Killian,” I said. He came into the room with his head bowed. “My apologies, Master. I was busy sharpening my arrows. Once again, my apologies,” Killian pleaded as he got down on one knee. I wore an ugly look on my face. I wasn’t angry at him because he arrived late. I was angry at him for arriving when I was just about to drink my whisky. Well, I wouldn’t want to waste two glasses of whisky like that. I snatched both glasses from the table and chugged them simultaneously. “Why the hell did you drink mine?!” Gertrude cried. “We don’t hav
LUKE’S POVI woke up earlier than usual today. Today was the day Ghen and I was supposed to embark on a mission. Alpha Logan also has to leave for his mission but he hasn’t woken up yet. It was four o’clock in the morning. The weaker was cloudy and cold, like it was about to rain. I took a folded tent and shoved it into my bag. I took a lighter with me as well.I had freshened up quickly even after knowing that it was too early, I alerted Ghen and he also got ready. We prepared properly before leaving the palace. Our journey started after we left the territory of the Red fanged pack. We made sure to pass by the territory of neighboring packs unnoticed in order not to start an unplanned war. Though our coat was pretty tough; it wasn't tough enough to shelter us from the cold of the incoming rain.“Looks like it’s going to rain soon,” Ghen said while gazing at the clouds.“You’re right. We’d better find shelter before it begins,” I said.Ghen and I searched and searched but failed. We fa
LOGAN’S POVThey looked like regular wolves but my instinct told me they weren’t.These wolves aren’t ordinary. So they’re here for my head? It seems like I don’t have to worry about the palace anymore. As long as the hunters know I’m traveling alone, they’ll only attack me. I better get this over with and complete my mission, I thought.“What are you thinking about, Alpha Logan? Have you remembered who we are so fast or you’re still struggling with your poor memory. I’ll save you the trouble then. She’s Mia and she’s Evelyn. He’s Tayla, he’s Zed and I’m Luke. Doesn’t that name ring a bell?“ their leader asked with a wide grin on his face.“I’m not seeing their faces but I can sense their strength. These guys aren’t regular wolves. Warn your partner to be careful,” Gertrude warned with a whispering tone.I turned around to show Gertrude their faces. Since he could sense their strength, maybe he must’ve met them before.“Hmm,” Gertrude hummed while squinting his eyes. “I don’t think an
LUKE’S POV“You gentlemen should go easy on yourselves. That whisky is the last one in this kingdom. You’ll have to visit five kingdoms before you find another bottle. And that’s not even guaranteed,” the bartender giggled.“If it has come to that, then I better…” I spoke while inserting the bottle into my coat. The cowboy kicked me on my rib cage and the bottle slipped from my hands.I placed my right leg below the bottle and sprung it into the air before it got to the floor. I jabbed the cowboy on the necks and ran for the bottle. I reached for the bottle, but before I got the bottle, the cowboy hauled me and slammed my back into the counter.“The bottle, Ghen!” I yelled, while in pain.Ghen, who was busy with one of the cowboy’s aides, reached and caught the bottle. He wasn’t free enough to put the bottle into the coat. I blocked the cowboy’s punch. I jabbed him on the throat again. He jerked back, choking and gagging. I drew out my dagger and went for this throat. Before I stabbed
LUKE’S POVI got up to a dull morning. Everywhere was so foggy I barely saw anything. After I returned from easing myself, I couldn’t find Ghen. When I woke up I also didn’t see him. I assumed he had left to go easy on himself. I immediately loosened the tent. I got ready and sat on a log, waiting for Ghen. I assumed he left to go hunt. After waiting for an hour, I decided to climb the mountain without him.The mountain was so big it had steps around it. I packed up the tent and left.Where could Ghen have gone? I had thought he left to go ease himself but that wasn’t the case. He still hasn’t returned. Perhaps, hunting? No, he wouldn’t hunt in a fog this heavy. I’ll just have to get the potion first. I’ll go search for him later, I thought. It was quite hard to see in the fog but I managed by using the walls by my side. After walking for so long, I sat down to rest. Just when I stood up and was about to leave, I saw a male-like figure approaching me. The unknown male walked like he w
