Chapter 24 - Her Confusion

"Ahana," The King's satin-like voice reaches my ears.

My eyes roamed around and then fixated on the man in front of me who was only a few feet away from me.

Inside, a storm of qualms was stirring - his words are still circling in my head and making me question his intentions towards me and the sole fact that why I am unable to defy him.

I could feel his dark eyes fixating on me, intense and light as the moon, but we were surely unreadable. I don't know what he was thinking. But I had an idea that he must be planning his next strategy as I have already understood he's more than he appears to be because his reality is not what he has shown to the world, it lies underneath him that is forbidden to even look for.

"What do you want from me?"

I could feel his gaze darkening even without sight, if I had sight and could see which way he is looking at me - it surely would have given me nightmares.
