Thirty Eight

I walked back to the dorm with my heart sinking with each step I took. It was so wrong to agree with Marcus to snoop around Mike’s family. But, what exactly could I do? Nothing. I didn’t know what to do. It was literally like being between the devil and the deep blue sea. I didn’t know which was worse. Without knocking, I opened the door. Chloe was up quickly, her hands pulling something behind her. I wonder what that was. I slowly slid the door close. I was so tired of all these. “Hey, girl,” she greeted. I nodded, as I walked over to my bed. I didn’t want anymore discussions. I wanted peace, and hopefully, I will get what I was looking for because this was actually getting too much now. “Well, you really look uptight. Did you have a good date?” Chloe asked innocently. My jaw dropped in shock. Oh, my God! Ian! I had not called him since last night. What must he think of me! I grabbed my phone, ignoring Chloe’s words, as I ran as fast as I could to the gate. What do I do now?
