"You stand your ground like an Alpha, you talk like an Alpha, you fight like an Alpha but... you smell like an Omega? Tell me, what are you really, Hunt?" "Tch! Just mind your own business, Lukeman!" "I would gladly mind yours instead, Nate. It just seems so interesting to me." "Argh! You're so annoying, Chris!" "You have to deal with it 'cuz starting now, I'm gonna keep questioning you about who and what the heck you are. Starting with; are you an Alpha or an Omega?" Nathan Hunt and Chris Lukeman were best friends since their childhood years. The two best friends love basketball and they have been actively participating in basketball clubs since middle school. However, they enrolled in different high schools, after graduating from middle school. Despite not having time for each other and hardly meet up, they were still contactable as close friends. Though, all of it changes when Chris finds out the real truth about his childhood best friend.
View MoreChapter 16: Dreams Like Lies It was finally the weekend and Chris decided to visit Nathan. They had not been contacting each other since the prior events and even though it was just three days ago, Chris felt like it was an eternity since he had last seen Nathan. Other than that, he needed to clarify regarding the bet. He remembered losing to Nathan but he was supposed to be telling Nathan what was on his mind, and not about him being a slave for Nathan for the next three days. ‘... As if that could’ve sorted things out. Why did I just kiss him even?’ Chris mentally faced palm. Upon standing before Nathan’s apartment door, Chris did not think twice and pressed the doorbell. He heard a faint “give me
Chapter 15: Two Moons Entwined Chris read through the result slip a couple of times, thinking he had mistaken the word “Alpha” as “Omega”. Nevertheless, no matter how many times he read it, the word “Alpha” was clearly stated there. For whatever unknown reasons, Chris was not satisfied with the result and he was denying the fact Nathan was an Alpha. Before this, he was certain his best friend was an Alpha and he did not mind it. However, after talking to his mother and listening to her thoroughly, Nathan’s description fitted more to be an Omega rather than an Alpha. Nonetheless, a heavy-seed Omega — the rarest of the rare. Chris groaned as he collapsed on the bed. He had arrived home hours ago and the time stamped on his nightstand was 8:45pm. The bag Nathan had lent him for the game was by his bedside. He took a peek at the paper in hand before he crumbled it with his fist. All h
Chapter 14: Truth? The ball bounced off the net and the two teenagers jumped simultaneously. They each scored 99 points and only one of them would be the winner. Time seemed to slow down for Chris as he looked over to Nathan who was persistent in getting the ball first with all his might. Chris knew Nathan was beyond exhaustion by then and he had passed his limits too. However, neither of them wanted to back down just yet. Chris studied his features carefully and he felt something akin to an “admiration” at the moment. Beads of sweat were collected around Nathan’s forehead and there were drops of it trickling from his messy red hair with a taper fade haircut to his neck and dipping into his clothes. His eyebrow furrowed sharply into a glare as his intense ember eyes were dead set on the ball. Hi
Chapter 13: I Have To Win Taking the bus back to Nathan's place was not a peaceful ride. It was too crowded and the passengers barely left any space for Chris to breathe in. He could literally smell everyone's mixed scents of sweats and colognes from miles away. Unfortunately for him, as much as he wanted to block it off, they kept invading his nose. This was one of the perks of an Alpha. Chris was annoyed and he let out a low growl, letting them know that he needed his space and he did not wish to smell any of them at all. However, he knew it would not work since the majority are on their headphones, so they were deaf. Even if they were not on their headphones, they just ignored him. Other than that, those who wish to move away from Chris, could not move even if they wanted to. All of them were stuck in this moveable vehicle after all.
Chapter 12: Hierarchy, Statuses & Omega The bossy nurse named Amanda, whom Chris found out from his mother, had long walked out of the nursery with her head hung low. His mother had openly reprimanded her of her behaviour and attitude, especially with the way she was treating Chris. Other than that, she was being held accountable for disrupting the peace and being irresponsible for not supervising a toddler. Everyone on the scene was shortly dismissed and the room was filled with peace again. “Charlie, are you ready?” Chris’ mother, Anna Kiz Lukeman, asked gently as she prepared the needle. The toddler named Charlie nodded his head slowly before holding onto Chris’ left hand tightly as he bravely embraced himself for the needle. Chris patted the toddler’s head softly, “It’ll be okay, Charl. You won’t feel a thing.”
Chapter 11: The Lost Boy The moment he had stepped foot inside the hospital building, he could see how chaotic the place was. Telephones ringing on the front desks, hospital beds being pushed back and forth, the arrival of new patients and many more. Chris felt uncomfortable from just being in here since he could smell various scents and odours, especially the bitter tint of medicine. He tried his best not to throw up, since it would be troublesome if he did. The last thing he needed was to find himself in a hospital bed with pestering doctors and nurses surrounding him. As he was heading towards the front desk and was about to ask for his mother, a ball was rolled and stopped by his foot. He looked down at the small plain red ball before looking up to a pair of emerald eyes with scruffy brown mixed with golden hairstyle hiding behind the pillar. Upon realising Chris w
Chapter 10: Subconscious Marking The school's cafeteria was still filled with students. All tables and seats were taken. Luckily, there was one empty table at the far end of the crowd. Nathan and his friends took a seat there whilst Isaac went to buy drinks for them. With the ball in hand, Nathan mindlessly spins the ball on the tip of his index. Without himself realising, Isaac had come back with four bottles in hand. He distributed the two bottles to Roland and Michael first, who took them with appreciation and started drinking in haste. Upon seeing Nathan, he casually settled himself beside him. “Nathan,” Isaac called out and, as expected, Nathan was far away from reality to respond. Isaac then impulsively pushed the bottle to Nathan's right cheek. Nathan's abused cheek turned red from cold as he jolted in startled before gla
Chapter 9: The Beast Within Nathan was able to detect various kinds of smells and he knew none of them was Alpha. He was really thankful that he did not have to encounter any Alphas on that day, and he would not have to sustain heavy injuries afterwards. As he was about to get up from his seat and have a confrontation with the teenagers, Isaac had kicked his chair back and got up instead. Nathan saw the grim look on his classmate and he was startled by a deep growl of the Beta, “You’re not welcomed here. Please, leave.” Isaac was a calm and collected young man. He had never lost his composure before. Seeing him in a different light, made Nathan feel uneasy. He heard low growls emitted from the opposite side. An auburn-haired teenager with onyx eyes stood forward as he snarled, “We won’t be here if it wasn’t for that

Chapter 1: Prologue Moving to the left side, jumped into the air and with a swift spin, he slammed the ball right into the hoop. Memories of the past warmed him inside as he recalled the familiar similar movements he made back then when they were in middle school, playing against each other. He felt a thrill of excitement chilling down his bones and he could never get enough of it. A triumphant smirk was placed on his lips as he landed nicely on the ground, looking over to his rival who was silently flaring in excitement as well. "Don't get cocky just yet, Lukeman. I was just warming up," his rival uttered as he went to position himself over to the half-semicircle line, in the middle of the basketball court, ready to go all out. He 'tch' out l...
