I lift my eyes just in time to see Justine sneaking into the living room with Adare on her hip. I lightly shake my head at her, and she quickly retreats to the bedroom. I am still busy wondering why I didn’t know my mother was here sooner, why my intuition didn’t let me know that something was off when Glenn and Jackson slip into the living room.
