CHAPTER 62

My laughter increased, and I clutched my stomach. Jessica was so dumb and a terrible liar that I found it funny she tried bringing up a convincing lie that would never work.

“You're going to injure yourself if you laugh too much,” Tedros muttered as soon as I was done laughing.

It took a while for me to stop laughing, but it was worth it. Jessica looked shocked and confused, the tears on her face were still there, but she had stopped fake sobbing.

I inhaled and exhaled, calming myself before speaking.

“Did I say that, Jessica?” I questioned.

Jessica's brows arched, and she nodded. “You said it.”

“When was that?”

“A few hours ago,” she replied.

“Oh yes,” I said, nodding my head in agreement. “I was with Tedros the whole time.”

“She’s right,” Tedros supported. “I was with her all day, and she went nowhere.”

Jessica backed away now that her lie was caught. “She must have sneaked out when you were asleep.” Picking up courage, she reached out to hold Tedros’ hand. “You have to believe me!
