Abbie's POV

"Sweetheart... it's okay. It's okay. You did really good today, Abbie. I know this is hard, but this is the way things had to end. There was no other way. She would have continued to kill innocent girls if we hadn't ended things this way. I'm so proud of you," Elora says as she kneels beside me, resting her hand on my shoulder.

I sniffled, shutting my eyes, and leaned into Hunter's chest. My hot tears continued to roll down uncontrollably.

I felt Hunter's warm thumbs gently wipe my tears. He kissed my head and rested his chin where he had left his kiss. Despite the sorrowful agony inside, his embrace made me feel a little comfort as our spark ignited inside me.

"I know. I just... I can't help but feel so guilty. I know Matisa was a sadistic, evil witch. She deserved what was coming to her. But I truly wished none of these witches had followed her blindly. So many of them died for her sake. And then there's Analise. I wish she were alive. We could have been good friends
