Soren's POV The gates of heaven must be open...did I finally die? Kind of figured the underground would have been my final place, but I think I saw an angel just walk by... “Meg,” I call out to her and it’s a long echoing sound. Oh, it’s a dream. Alpha Soren The world around me fades away and I only see her. It’s as if time slowed for us to admire each other. But my mind denies it- this cannot be Meg, she’s- dead! This is my eyes playing tricks on me because I am grieving and hung up on Meg. It’s my guilt doing this because she has the same name as my mate and maybe the same hair- Electrifying tingles hit me from all directions more intensely than seconds ago. It radiates from every fibre of my being to every extremity. I feel primal on an instinctual level. My heart races, not from fear or excitement but from a profound recognition that this woman is meant for me. My pulses screamed out to her but my throat went dry. No, her hair is different than Meg’s. Thicker, richer looking, shiny and blacker. Shorter. She smells different too. Meg smells like mangoes- her scent invades my senses but the newcomer scoffs. It’s the most beautiful sound I have heard in the longest time. Logan smirks. His tail wagging.

Meg “Meg! What are you doing?” Jax shouts from behind me just as the alpha covers my mouth with his hand, his eyes wide with shock while mine glowered. I bite into the soft flesh, yanking myself away from him when he yelps and pulls his hand back. “Rejecting him properly,” I quiver out, surprised by my own reluctance now. Something in me is elated he prevented it. But I let out, “I don’t care if he dies. I didn't care if the pack was taken over by rogues either.” Will had told us, that the alpha had been preoccupied with the attack of what they think might be rogues. He’d said it for my benefit because Jax already knew. It’s Blue. I turn myself around to Jax. He wears a worried furrow as he stands almost to the door, ready to bolt next to Will whose jaw is slack. I do not understand why he wants me to forgive the man that broke my heart. All for the sake of the pack? The pack that hated me? Red is growling inside me- something she has never done.

Meg Holding Mackenzie’s small hand loosely as we approached the Omega House. Watching through new eyes, it seemed old yet a well-maintained building. It had been years since I had last set foot here, and though I had risen above my omega status, the memories remained etched in my heart. This place had been my sort of sanctuary, the one stable element in a world that often felt tumultuous and unforgiving. Mackenzie tugged on my hand, her bright eyes wide with curiosity. Alpha SorenStanding on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the valley below, I still feel as if I cannot breathe. The wind whipped through my dark hair, and my sharp, amber eyes scanned the horizon. Despite the strength and authority, I projected, an unease settled deep within me since I saw Megan last. Sure, I had rejected Meg, convinced she was nothing more than an omega- not the mate bond. And that mistake has haunted me every day since. And yesterday- I gulp- she'd tried to break the bond. She’s been unaware of it before... If I hadn’t been there, she would have done it. Alpha Soren I took a deep breath and attempted to approach her, my heart pounding in my chest. “Meg,” I began, my voice softer than usual. But my feet seem stuck to the ground. “Soren,” she replied coolly, crossing her arms over her chest, while my head and heart swam with the sound of my name rolling off her tongue. Her clothing as well- joggers and a matching black yoga crop top thing with the sides exposed but she is wearing a tighter fitted top beneath- like what I see girls wearing in gyms. Alpha Soren The White Mountain pack’s territory was in turmoil. And only getting worse. A human mutilated body just before the bridge this morning. As if the brutal murders had not already shaken the pack to its core, the body of the human- mutilated along the borders would now be cause for the humans to become involved. Sure enough, by nine in the morning, the local sheriff had two patrol cars inside their pack’s property. Soren hated that. The authorities always had stupid questions to ask and sometimes when they did not have enough time to ‘clean up’, even stupider questions were asked; “Why is that looking like blood on the floor?” “Cuz you’re on a farm, sir? And we slaughter animals here?” Will would handle them outside. Indoors, I fume. Our once-peaceful forest now felt ominous, with shadows lurking behind every tree. Alpha Soren Hering the door opening, I turn back and see Meg in the doorway and my breath is almost taken away. Her doe eyes locked onto mine. For a moment, we simply stared at each other, the tension between us thick enough to cut. Her hair is a mess and she’s wearing my T-shirt, in my bedroom. Of course, I respond in a manner of- I sniff, my nose twitching. Her eyebrows come together- twisting in such a Meg way- bent. “What is it?” My eyebrows furrow and my nostrils flare. The f*cking delta! I could smell him on her! It’s faint but I get it. “Must you always reek of him?” “What?” It’s her turn to furrow her brows. “Get out, now!” “What? Why?” She genuinely seems confused and then I see her face take on a knowing look. Her wolf has spoken to her. “How about I take a shower then? Please. I’m only here to help- you. I know what’s happening Soren.” At the mention of my name, I soften and nod my head. She disappears back into my room and I head to my office where I pour myself
