Alpha Soren I took a deep breath and attempted to approach her, my heart pounding in my chest. “Meg,” I began, my voice softer than usual. But my feet seem stuck to the ground. “Soren,” she replied coolly, crossing her arms over her chest, while my head and heart swam with the sound of my name rolling off her tongue. Alpha Soren The White Mountain pack’s territory was in turmoil. And only getting worse. A human mutilated body just before the bridge this morning. As if the brutal murders had not already shaken the pack to its core, the body of the human- mutilated along the borders would now be cause for the humans to become involved. Sure enough, by nine in the morning, the local sheriff had two patrol cars inside their pack’s property. Soren hated that. The authorities always had stupid questions to ask and sometimes when they did not have enough time to ‘clean up’, even stupider questions were asked; “Why is that looking like blood on the floor?” “Cuz you’re on a farm, sir? And we slaughter animals here?” Will would handle them outside. Indoors, I fume. Our once-peaceful forest now felt ominous, with shadows lurking behind every tree. Alpha, Not Luna 44- A New Perspective
Alpha Soren Hering the door opening, I turn back and see Meg in the doorway and my breath is almost taken away. Her doe eyes locked onto mine. For a moment, we simply stared at each other, the tension between us thick enough to cut. Her hair is a mess and she’s wearing my T-shirt, in my bedroom. Of course, I respond in a manner of- I sniff, my nose twitching. Her eyebrows come together- twisting in such a Meg way- bent. “What is it?” My eyebrows furrow and my nostrils flare. The f*cking delta! I could smell him on her! It’s faint but I get it. “Must you always reek of him?” “What?” It’s her turn to furrow her brows. “Get out, now!” “What? Why?” She genuinely seems confused and then I see her face take on a knowing look. Her wolf has spoken to her. “How about I take a shower then? Please. I’m only here to help- you. I know what’s happening Soren.” At the mention of my name, I soften and nod my head. She disappears back into my room and I head to my office where I pour myself
Alpha, Not Luna 45- A Day in Town
Meg The late morning sun filtered through the pickup as Jax, Kenzie and I drove into the parking lot on the outskirts of town. The forest around us this morning was too alive with the sounds of nature, birds chirping, and leaves rustling in the gentle breeze for me to handle. I think I got too accustomed to city life. Jax loved it, however. Exiting, we head to the bazaar, Mackenzie skipping along, between us, her dark curls bouncing with each step. She held tightly to Jax’s hand, her bright brown eyes, so much like Soren’s. But instead of broody, hers was wide with excitement. Red decided today would be a day she would spend with Logan. Meg Soren drops by the very next morning and I rush out quickly, not wanting Kenzie to meet him just yet. She did ask when she would meet him and I simply told her soon. She had pouted and that was it. Goodness, he looks good in the morning sun! His features hadn’t changed much. He was handsome as ever- more rugged perhaps but my heart did not do flips like it used to. He was dressed like the usual- straight-fitted jeans- grey and a plain black T-shirt, boots on his feet. His hand had his usual leather bands and his single gold ring on his right index finger. Honestly, he appeared a thousand times better than earlier and even then, I thought he was ravishing even though I could see his sunken cheeks. His scent is so appealing to me. Beta WillThe air in the packhouse was thick with the scent of smoked meats and the earthy aroma of freshly tanned hides. I observed everyone because the alpha had his mind preoccupied with his mate. The mate that attempted to reject him on day one of meeting him even though Soren had already announced to the pack that he found their luna. Then he learned that Logan had accepted his mate- so why didn’t the alpha follow suit and accept his? It baffled me what was going on. It is evident- to me anyway...possibly because my power is stronger because of my rank that I picked up on it. But the girl is familiar somehow. Another thing I sensed was that she and Soren have a history. So again... why didn’t Soren accept the bond? Soren led Megan through the wide halls, their footsteps echoing off the wooden floors. Meg“I want you to be part of this, Meg. You’ve always had a sharp mind for strategy, and with you by my side, we could make this a reality. The pack would thrive under our leadership.” There was a time when Soren’s words would have stirred something deep within me, a desire to be the one standing beside him. But that was before- before the rejection- before I’d left the pack and found a new path. And I see how jaded I was all those years ago. While I wanted to be with him, I never fully did, did I? I mean he is an alpha, I should have visualised what being with an alpha is- making me a luna and I never saw myself ruling beside him, did I? No, I only saw me and him. I spoke to him via mind link and his eyes widened as if he was about to refuse and I eyed Will. He is making me uncomfortable especially now that Soren has taken the conversation from m*rder to personal.

Alpha Soren's“Did you?” I roar, my voice breaking through the tension between us. She stands across the room, calm, too calm, as if she’s unaffected by the storm raging inside me.
