43- A Human Now

The White Mountain pack’s territory was in turmoil. And only getting worse. A human mutilated body just before the bridge this morning.

As if the brutal murders had not already shaken the pack to its core, the body of the human- mutilated along the borders would now be cause for the humans to become involved. Sure enough, by nine in the morning, the local sheriff had two patrol cars inside their pack’s property.

Soren hated that. The authorities always had stupid questions to ask and sometimes when they did not have enough time to ‘clean up’, even stupider questions were asked; “Why is that looking like blood on the floor?”

“Cuz you’re on a farm, sir? And we slaughter animals here?”

Will would handle them outside.

Indoors, I fume.

Our once-peaceful forest now felt ominous, with shadows lurking behind every tree. Fear was a palpable force, spreading through the pack like wildfire.

And as the leader, I was at the centre of it all. Everyone looked to me to solve it. M
