“I killed her parents.” I gritted in anger, grabbing an antique on the table and hauling it at the wall. I watched as it collided with the wall and broke. My beta, stood across the table, a slight frown on his face, as he listened. He tried to calm me down severally but he knew it wasn’t yielding any efforts and was tired. “How can…how can…” I said, frustration coursing through my veins as I stared at my hands, my claws extracted. “I’m a fucking monster!” I swiped at the table, cutting it into a clean half and watching each part of it, colliding to the floor. I felt a palm on my shoulder and I stared at my beta, with my eyes turning into a crimson red. “Enough Markov.” He said, with his eyes golden in color as a deep frown settled on his face. I could feel him applying pressure to his hand. If it were another beta, his head would have been sliced clean from the rest of his body. However, he was no ordinary beta. He was my howling brother and his family were friends to mine. We’ve been brothers since I could remember. Those of his bloodline, were protectors of ours. His great father served me, before his father and then him. I am the last of my bloodline. “You need to be calm Markov. You did no wrong. You were not in control.” He said, a pitiful expression on his face, as he tried to assure me that my actions were not within my control. I couldn’t help but let out a pitiful chuckle. If only I could lay my hands on the witch that did this to me, I’d make her wish she were never born! I’d rip her skin and heal her, only to do it again and again. Being werewolves meant we had a much larger life span than a human but we were never immortal. The highest we could live would be four hundred years. Though we aged with time, it didn’t make us as weak as the humans. If not anything, it did the exact opposite because the older we are, the stronger we get. A three hundred year old beta, could best two Alphas in a dual and come out victorious. A three hundred year old Alpha, is an unstoppable force to have. I alone am six hundred years old and it was only possible because of the curse on me. Some years before I even met my beta’s grandfather, I encountered a powerful witch, who placed a curse on me, after having her entire coven wiped from existence by my father.q we I was cursed to be immortal and since then, I never aged. Along with it, she cursed me with having a demon share my body with me. It would take over when the moon was out and would leave, once it was dawn. Whatever it did, I’d wouldn’t know but could get fragments of its memories. The only way to end the curse was by death and not any death, I’d need to be killed by my own mate to end it. “You have no idea what was happening. I’m sorry you feel this way but whatever you did or ‘he’ did, it shouldn’t make you feel responsible for it or blame yourself.” He said before I sighed, retracting my claws and letting my eyes take their natural color. “I need a drink.” I said and walked to the refrigerator in the study room. I opened it and grabbed a bottle of cold whisky and two shot cups. “Care for a drink, Tristin?” He smiled, walking up to me and accepting my offer. We clinked our glasses and gulped down our shots. I could feel the burning sensation as the liquor traveled down my throat. “Tristin?” “Yes, Alpha…” “Markov…” I reminded him with a slight frown and he gave a nervous smile. “Don’t refer to me by my title. At least, when we are alone.” He nodded his head in a silent apology, before setting his cup for another shot. Again, we repeated the clinking and drinking. “What do you know about the Blood hound pack beyond the forest far north?” His interest is piqued and I watch him drop his glass, before raising his brows in a questioning look. He then sighed before he began to speak. “I know it is being ruled by Alpha Damien, who is two hundred years old and he has a spoilt cunt for a son. Mason, a lad in his twenties, who is rumored to be mateless.” He replied while I downed another shot and nodded my head. “Give me more informations. How many wolves and ranks?” “They are about a hundred and thirty wolves in the pack. There are thirty beta wolves with the oldest at hundred. They are eighteen gammas, sixteen Alphas and the rest are the Omegas.” He replied and I nodded. “And ours?” “We have just a hundred wolves. Fifty beta wolves with the oldest at hundred and fifty, twenty gammas, fifteen Alphas with the oldest at three hundred and fifty years old with the rest of the packs all omegas, and then, we have you.” He spoke, his tone dripping with admiration. “That is very good.” “If I may ask, why?” He queried as he looked at me with confusion etched on his face. “You said your mate came from the blood hound pack so I guess you it has something to do with her?” “The blood hound pack treated her like she was a piece of discarded trash. Their Alpha watched as his son bullied and laid hands on my woman and was also in support at trying to force her into marrying his filthy son!” My fists clenched as I spoke and I could see the look of worry etched on his face. “I do not like people messing with things that belongs to me and especially not my mate. They turned her into a slave and let her fight for scraps in the kitchen like one. They never loved or cared for her and her feelings.” “So what would you like me to do?” He asked, his demeanor deadpan as he awaited instructions from me. I loved this side of him. I always did and will forever love how loyal he was. How he’d never question my decision but would support me instead. “I need you to get a message to Alpha Damien of the Blood hound pack.” I replied. “And what do I tell him?” “Tell him that I’m willing to let his past actions against my mate slid, if he could do one thing in return.” I said before leaning my head close to him. My eyes turning a deep red that I could see its reflection in his eyes. “I need him to send me his son’s head in a platter or he should be ready to face my wrath upon his head.” And I was dead serious.J A D EAs soon as Markov left, the maid announced I needed to take my bath while she handed me fresh towels. She proceeded to follow me into the bathroom to my greatest surprise. I stared at her through the mirror and she stared right back, still standing.“Uhm…” I started, clearing my throat. “Are you going to stay here while I bathe or something because that is not happening and I doubt your Alpha will want his guest bathed by a stranger while he is not around, let alone, a female stranger.”She let out a chuckle and shook her head, a smile gracing her beautiful features. She was truly beautiful, in every sense of the word. Her hair was blonde and wavy, stopping at the middle of her back. She had a pale complexion, with her lips plump and pink. Her eyes were a blue ocean with her cheekbones high. She had a perfect body that could match her face and she was tall.I could only imagine her to be in her late thirties or early forties. She laughed and it was like music to my ears. It was
J A D EWe arrived at the dining room and she stopped. She told me to enter and she would wait outside for me.I was nervous, but I needed to push it down. I inhaled and exhaled, calming myself and composing myself.I didn’t need him to sense how scared and worried I was. I needed to be calm and collected.I turned the knob and walked in.The dining room was big. The walls were white and had two paintings hung on either side of the wall.At the far end of the room, was a long wooden table. He sat at the end of the table, a glass in his hand. He had his sleeves rolled up and his shirt was unbuttoned a little, revealing the tattoo on his chest and arm. He didn't look like he was in a good mood, by the looks on his face.I cleared my throat and he raised his gaze. A smile replaced his frown as he saw me. He stood up, his eyes roaming over my body, taking in the sight of me.He was speechless, and it made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.I smiled, walking closer and he
J A D ETwo days passed by in a blur and still there was no sign of Markov. It was too lonely in here and if I wasn’t talking to Eliza, I was in my room sleeping. At one point, it got tiring.I decided to do something different today. Back in the Silvermoon pack, I was never given the privilege of having a TV or even anything close to that.My room was a small storage room with a bed that hurts like a bitch and a small window for air. Ever since my parents death, I had slept in that room and I couldn’t even complain unless I wanted my head chopped off.Not wanting to reminisce about the past, I got off my bed and walked down the stairs. The living room was empty, but I could hear clattering of plates in the kitchen. The maids were probably there, preparing dinner.I took a seat on the soft leather sofa, and took the remote, turning on the TV. It felt strange to be doing this, and I was surprised I could even operate a remote. Just how much of my life have I missed out on?I’ve lived a
J A D EA blue colored bird that looked beautiful. It was the prettiest creature I have ever seen."I found it near the park, and thought of you," He said.I was overwhelmed by his generosity. The last gift I got was from my mom.It was a silver necklace with a wolf pendant, and I still had it, it was my only reminder of her. "Thank you, I love it. Do you think I can name it?""Sure.""Hmm, let me think. Bluey! Yes, that's a perfect name. Look at his blue wings, it's the same color as his body. Don't you think it's pretty?""Yeah, just like you.""Oh, hush. Come on, Bluey, let's play together. I can't wait for you to meet Eliza. She's the sweetest girl ever. You guys would be best friends.""Do you have any pets, little wolf?""No. My old alpha would never allow it. But, I have a secret friend.""Is that so?" I could detect the anger in his voice even if he tried to hide it. There was a slight growl, and his eyes darkened."Yup. He's a rabbit and his name is Jack. He's white and has
J A D E I was sitting in my room, reading a book while Bluey was in his cage, sleeping soundly. The next morning, Markov brought a huge cage and all the bird necessities. He was surprised that Bluey was already eating fruit from my hand, but I told him it was because I was feeding him the first day."What are you doing in here? Why aren't you with your friends?" I asked, closing my book and looking at Eliza. She was wearing a pair of black leggings and a crop top. Her long, blond hair was braided into two braids. She had her usual black eyeliner on and a small amount of makeup. She was dressed ready to go outside."I came to see if you wanted to join us. We're going to the clubhouse. We have a bar and a pool table. You'll like it." She offered."Really? You're inviting me out with you?""Yeah, you've been locked in this room for too long. Plus, Markov won't stop talking about you, so this will shut him up for a bit," she said, making me laugh."You're not going to tell me that I'm no
J A D EI haven’t seen or spoken to Markov in a week, he has been avoiding me, and I have been locked in the bedroom since that night.A few nights ago, I was walking around the house, and I saw Markov. He was sitting at the dining table, staring at the wall.I was about to say something, but he raised his hand and pointed at the stairs, signaling me to leave.I could sense his anger, and I didn't want to push him. I didn’t understand why he was angry at me for what happened that night. Or was he angry at himself for letting me see that side of him?I came down the stairs to have a glass of milk as I couldn’t sleep. It was currently 12 in the midnight and I was shocked to find Markov sitting on the kitchen counter, downing a whole bottle of alcohol down his throat.I cleared my throat, making my presence known. He didn't look up or acknowledge me, he simply kept on drinking."Markov, we need to talk," I said, in a stern voice."There is nothing to talk about. Go back to bed," He repli
M A R K O V“You did what?” Tristin asked, staring at me wide eyed.I looked away from him. “I did what I had to do. I couldn’t allow her to know my true identity this soon.” I said, already knowing the judgment that would come after. “So, using powers to bind her wolf was the best option? You know this will only cause more harm than good? The girl will only get weaker and weaker as the day goes by! That is so stupid, Markov. You have no idea what you have done! What if you killed her wolf?! What would you have done then?! Huh?!”I growled, feeling my inner beast growling in rage. "How dare you question my decisions?!" I shouted.Tristin growled back, his eyes glowing. "How dare you treat her like a slave?! How can you be so heartless?! This isn’t you, Alpha. The plan was you gaining back your sense of humanity once you find her, but it looks like you're falling deeper and deeper into the abyss of madness!""Watch your tongue, Tristin, or I will have it ripped out.""Go ahead. Rip it
J A D EI was staring up at the ceiling, wondering what was going on with my life. How had I ended up here? From escaping the clutches of Alpha Dane and Mason into the arms of my mate. But, why did it feel so wrong? What was going on with me? Why was my wolf silent? Why was my human side silent? Was this the effect of having a mate bond?My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a knock on the door."Who is it?" I asked, sitting up and turning my attention towards the door."It's me. Can I come in?" Markov's voice came from the other side of the door.My heart skipped and before I could even respond, he already let himself in. He was putting on a white shirt while walking inside my room. He was dressed in his usual black jeans and black t-shirt.He smiled at me and I looked away, unable to hold his gaze. "Are you alright?" He asked, coming to stand beside my bed."Yes, I'm fine.""I'm glad. I wanted to apologize for the way I acted last night. It wasn't right. You didn't deserve i
