Shock was an understatement of how Maya felt. Her face transformed into a ball of frown. She was so upset and walked out immediately. Eden loosened herself from Lucian's grip as she wondered what had gone wrong. What was wrong with her friend? Lucian shook his head what he had gotten himself into. He knew how much he would have to convince Maya that it was not what she was thinking. “Excuse me” Eden said and tried to run after Maya but Lucian was quick to hild her again. “Be calm” He looked her straight in the eyes. Maya was just being selfish and he knew that. She had initiated the whole plan. Why then was she acting that way? “My friend… Maya, she……” Eden tried to talk but no word came out of her mouth. She stuttered as she was worried. “Nothing is wrong. Be calm.i will go after her instead. Right now, you do not need to stress yourself, okay?”Eden nodded and silently prayed for Maya to listen to Lucian. She just did not realize why Maya was so angry. She stormed out of anger
Lucian walked back in. His facial expression was bland. As soon as he walked in, Eden raised her head quickly, hoping to hear a positive result. She looked up at him, waiting for a befitting response but he kept mute as he walked towards her. Eden constantly looked at the door hoping it would open but to her uttermost dismay, the door didn’t open. She wanted to walk even further as she believed Lucian was not able to convince her. Lucian was quick to hold her back. Eden tried to release herself from his grip but she could not. He was holding her tightly. She tried to break herself free from him again but he was not willing to let her go. Just then, the door flung open. Eden gasped as she had not expected what she saw. She looked at Lucian and he smiled at her. She smiled back at him as she embraced him again. She was so happy that she didn’t even think straight of what had just happened. Trying so hard, Maya hid her anger. Maya had walked in with a smile on her face. She crossed h
A pleasing smile formed on Maya's face as she turned to look at Eden. Maya hurriedly walked towards Eden to grab her like she was going to fall down. She looked so weak and pale. Lucian sighed in relief as he turned his back to them. If Maya had walked in a minute earlier, she would have seem them both and it would have been so terrible. “Are you fine?” Maya questioned, stretching her hand to Eden as an aid. Eden sighed as she was exhausted. All she wanted to do was go home and rest that very minute. The day's activity had taken it’s all on her. She really missed her parents. Right in the middle of the darkness, Lucian's gaze landed on a piercing eyes that was looking at him. The owner of the eyes had the face covered as well as every other part of the body. Only the eyes were bare. He tried to check who it was but the thick darkness kept it away from him. “Who are you?” He questioned, immediately becoming oblivious to whatever was happening with Maya and Eden. Just as he was abou
“Would she be fine?” Worry spread itself widely on Lucian’s face. He could not affoeds anything happening to Eden. Not even at that time.“Yes, she will be fine” The Physician smiled at him. He had not ben able to get a physician. He had journeyed for a distance before he was able to get the royal physician. “What is the matter with her? What happened to her? Is she sick? Does she need a serious medical care? Is she…”“Be calm” The physician smiled as he saw th4e look of worry on Lucian’s face. Well…… he was quite scared and hoped she would not die. She was his friend after all.“She was just stressed and nothing more. She had been thinking so much and I guess it weakened her entire body hence making her very sick. She would be fine” The royal physician explained. Lucian heaved a sigh of relief. He had lost his mind when he thought she was going to die. His whole system had taken another form, not just for their gain but she being his friend as well. “All she needs is quality rest
Lucian looked around as he thought so hard about what to do. Just then, he sighted a piece of a garment in a corner of the room. He knew how important it was so he thought he could put it to good use. He grabbed the garment and tied it to a corner of the window. He was not so sure if it would work but he had to take the risk. He hurriedly tied the rope and then, carried her. He tapped her lightly. She struggled to stay awake but then, he helped her lower herself. As soon as he had placed her down, he hurriedly climbed the rope together with her and jumped off quickly. Just as he placed his leg on the bare floor outside the window, he heard the door flung open. They had finally been able to open the door. He knew they had to escape as soon as possible to avoid being caught. Eden still felt quite sleepy as she still hadn’t recovered fully. He carried her on the bus back and then, began to run sway with her. He had to save their lives. Hers most especially. He could not understand wh
Lucian was shocked to say the least and so was Eden. Was he really going to kill them? Just like that when they had done nothing? He should have at least told them that they had done wrong. “Who sent you?” Eden questioned, looking unperturbed. “Who asked you to go after our lives?” She questioned again like she wanted to be sure they heard her right. The trios stared at each other and let out a loud laughter. She felt a bit embarrassed by their actions but she was not going to let it get to her. She really wanted to know why they had come after them.“Dear Alpha, why are you so concerned about why we want to take your life?” One of them asked mockingly and the others began to laugh. It wasn’t funny so she could not see why they were laughing. “Why? What would you do if you know? Go after who sent us? Or try to attack them when you are gone? Or perhaps, your ghost would begin to hunt them?” Another added, making them all burst into another bout of laughter. It wasn’t funny. She coul
Okay, now, she could not understand what the pretense about? It was just two of them so he needed to not pretend to her like he cared. She knows he doesn’t. She turned to the other side, looking easy from him. She wished it was true. She wished all he was saying was genuine but she would inky make a fool of herself if she believes it. She would only be preparing herself to be heartbroken. Tears had began to form in her eyes. “What is the matter? Are you okay?” Lucian questioned, watching her turn to the other side. He was surprised at her reaction. He knew there was more to her action but he kept mute. “I am fine” She sighed, still looking easy from him. She really wished the feeling was mutual and not one sided. She however decided to be strong. All she wanted to do was get out of the mess that she was in and then begin to think of a way to figure out her life. She didn’t want to weighing herself down with thought. “I will find a way…” He started. “I will find a way to get us out
"I have to leave now" Maya yanked her mother's hands off her shoulders and ran out quickly. She needed to leave as soon as possible. Deep within, she prayed nothing happened to Lucian. Well…. Eden should also be okay till they get what they finally want. Lucian opened his eyes slowly as he felt shaken. No, not by hands but by…. The tiny ray of sun piercing through a corner to his eyes, wait.. What was going on?He opened his eyes wide to behold where he was. The sounds of horses trodding the floor continued to penetrate his hearings. Then it dawn on him. They were in a cage. A cage with iron bars in which each of the bars only had small distance between them.Where were they and where were they taking them to? Eden still had not opened her eyes. She still looked so weak and pale and their hands were still tied. "Eden" He called softly, looking around the environment even though he could not catch a clear glimpse of the environment. No where seemed familiar at all. "Eden" He call
