I announced, jerking to my feet and walking away from the meeting room where I had been since the earlier hours of the day.

“That should be all for the entire year, Ayden. It's been a very long day.”

Karl did a quick stretch in my head and I joined him as I walked down the corridor that led to my office.

Throughout the meeting with the elders and officials in the territory, my concentration kept twitching. It was majorly on Zadie's ninth percent of the time while the meeting got less than ten percent of my attention. I would have skipped the meeting to talk to her the whole day but it wasn't possible.
