Chapter 31 – Worries
“No, don’t say that. You said he was happy, right? Maybe it’s something else. Maybe he realized he’s not ready to become a father yet. What does he know about babies, right? I say bring him to the nursery and let him interact with children. That should help. He should slowly get used to crying babies and screaming kids.”
The imagery made Polly laugh. She hoped it’s that simple.
“You know how he is. It’s difficult for him to open up and share his thoughts and feelings. I kept trying, but his refusal is making me feel frustrated, too.”
“I’m so sorry. Do you want me to talk to him? Or I can ask Clyde.”
Polly shook her head, “No, that’s not it. Maybe later, if he proved to be difficult. I’m wondering if I could speak to . . . uhm, the girl. The one they call Little Moon. She was the one who told Jared we would conceive a child that night. Maybe she knows something else?

Luna grinned at his reaction. It was both sweet and infuriating. When she’s done, he continued his lecture and showed her a few moves.
