Chapter 16

“Hey, hey my child, don’t feel bad; you should know your Aunt is like a bug in your stomach, isn't what you always said in the past. Hahaha, I always felt amused by you guys messing around, you know.

But you don’t need to be sad, okay? Even if you don’t say then also she will be worried, she has always been worrying about you, do you know in childhood, when you first started to walk, she would keep a tight watch on you, if you have slight bumping on something then she would pick you up, and not let you walk for that day.

If not for me pursuing her saying that if she, again and again, comes to save you, then you will never grow up, because of this, she made a big fuss and went away from home for a month, because she knows you have to grow up. Still, she can’t see you get hurt; that’s why she disappeared for a month.

You know maybe in this life even I can’t compare her love towards you, I never said anything about that because I know I was never able to give you much attention towards you at that time because of the growth of the business. Still, my sister even threw away her big research project just to accompany you; maybe this is a big thing I owe her as a mother who gave birth to you.

I sometimes feel envious of you guys’ relationship, my sister was never like this to me, but you are the jewel in her hand, so cherished and protected, but now you have grown up and now handle your own business, I am happy.

She sometimes tends to overthink, especially about you; she feels that all bad things will happen to you if she is not by your side, so don’t worry about that.

Because if you didn’t give her a chance to worry, then she will invest that worry in the laboratory, so with that may be there will be some blast, so let her be.”

Anna gave her big speech, and Bella was speechless.

“Mom?” 

Anna was bewildered, looking at the shocked expression of Bella.

She felt a little confused and offended,

“What?” 

“Mom, this is the first time you talked with me so much, such a long talk, maybe we never had this big talk, but I am very happy about this,” Bella said while holding her mother’s hand and giving a little squeeze.

Maybe because Bella was close to Circe, Anna was busy growing and expanding the business while trying to get over the pain, as the relationship drifted between mother and daughter, even not too extreme but, still, there was a gap.

Most of the intimate talking Bella would do with Circe, her Aunt, rather than Anna, her mother.

Today seems to be something broke,

A wall between mother and daughter broke; maybe the distance which time created also fills up.

“Hmm right, maybe we never had the time to talk things out, but now we can talk, that is good, Bella you’ve truly grown up, now you can see things clearly and thoroughly, most of that I can understand the things which for what I am grateful”  Anna teared up seeing how her daughter is mature and kind.

“Mom, don’t be like this; I am always good, okay? It’s like I was brat before, sigh I will not talk with you, hmph” Seeing things turning into an emotional breakdown, Bella made a face like she is angry.

Anna laughed at the act of Bella; slowly, she cleared the eyes forming in her eyes when she looked at Bella, whose eyes were mist.

Bella looked around; unconsciously, her eyes went towards the table, which was now empty, like she was searching for something or someone.

Looking at her daughter’s eyes wandering around and still coming towards the certain table made her eyes shine with some lights and inspiration.

She is secretly happy about this; her eyes were almost glowing with happiness.

She prayed in her mind,

“Finally, my daughter has other emotions also, really good, but……. But the only hope is that the other party will not let her down.” 

After some time, she turned around and changed her expression; still, her mother faintly found the disappointment in her eyes.

“Mom, I will go and help Via and Mia; if not, then we will not be able to work, as now it is afternoon, this is rush hour, so.” 

With that, she left to serve; Anna was looking at her, after some time, she left for the office, where she saw her sister sleeping peacefully.

“Sister, after the years I am seeing you so peacefully and relaxed,” Anna caressed her sister’s hair.

Maybe because growing up, they both depend on each other, which left the bond stronger than sisters, where Circe was the one who always protected Anna and treated her with love, even though she wasn’t exactly the person who would soften herself. However, there was still love in those cold looks and words, which Anna always found lovely.

There were times when they were in desperate situations and times where they were close to death, but still, they walked out without harm because they both trusted each other and because Circe will protect her with everything.

This type of many examples made Anna trust Circe more than her own life, if not for one mistake for which Circe was mad, there wasn’t anything that made these sisters break down, but for Bella, her daughter may be more than her, Circe was the one who sacrificed.

She sometimes felt she isn’t really any competent mother; rather, Circe is; because of that, sometimes she felt a little lost, but never unhappy or jealous because she knows that whatever she has; however she is even after the things she went through and put her daughter into, if not for Circe being strong enough to pull her back, maybe today even her daughter wouldn’t be in this world.

Maybe because of Bella, her sister forgave her; if not, perhaps they would still be in the cold war.

“Sister, sometimes I really envy you, just like you. If I also control my desires for happiness, then there wouldn’t be any pain. Still, I am happy; if not for my few moments of joy, then there wouldn’t be our Bella.

Sometimes I really wonder, is there someone who can make you happy, who can be your soulmate, even though I don’t say in fear of getting scolded by you, I always felt that you need someone in your life, your life isn’t just taking care of me, then my daughter, this isn’t life, not for you. Bella and I hope that you can also find your own happiness, a person who can make you feel happy and secure at home.”

Anna was a little emotional today, maybe because she met her daughter after a long time, she was a little shaken from everything.

After staying for a few minutes, Anna went to the bathroom, then Circe opened her eyes.

Her eyes went towards the window looking outside,  bright and beautiful with the sun shining on the sky.

“Who said, I didn’t have a soulmate, I have…..I had”

Then again, she closed her eyes.

There was faint sorrow between her eyebrows like she is remembering.
