Chapter 42

“NATALIE!!! Turn your alarm off!”

The girls yelled, throwing pillows at me. I moaned, it’s not my fault I liked waking up early, besides I patiently waited for this day. Today was the Awards Ceremony for the completion of our combat warfare training.

We were leaving for the airport early Thursday morning on the 4th, in hopes of getting home before nightfall, but that all depended on the number of layovers. My stomach was doing flips at the thought of seeing my parents soon. However, I wasn’t so thrilled to see ‘Alpha’ Christian. I felt the switch happen around Thanksgiving break, knowing I was coming home to an egomaniac walking testosterone.

He could've had a better chance with me if he’d given it time to get to know me better, but instead, he was a persistently annoying, domineering, self-centered prick. He felt entitled over me and wanted control. I was never going to give him that pleasure.
