22 - Punishment

Kate's POV

I feel my head is heavy. Slowly, I opened my eyes due to a headache. I tried to touch my head and left hand in the glass box and my right hand was firmly held by the Alpha King. He is fast asleep in the guest chair holding my hand. I am in the hospital and I don't remember coming here. I think my mate brought me here. I don't know what happened in the battle.

When I tried to call the nurse, my voice was heavy and the oxygen mask was very uncomfortable. So I tried to free my hand from my mate's grip. But he suddenly woke up and I smiled at him and said, "Good Morning." in my slow and heavy voice.

He got up abruptly and pressed a button beside him. He sat on the chair again holding my hands in his both hands and asked with teary eyes, "How are you? Do you feel any pain in your left hand?"

I smiled and said, "No I don't feel anymore."

I asked him, "Can you please remove the oxygen mask?"

He said, "Just wait for a little darling. Let the doctor decide."
