“What offer?” My interest was piqued.
“You will be assigned to work with Emmerson on the pack businesses,” he stated. I had a feeling that this was non-negotiable in his eyes, but it sure was going to be up for discussion with me. It seemed pretty suspicious that he would know about my involvement with Ezra’s and Jeremy’s business. I always made a point of not being mentioned or taking any credit for their business dealings. I just gave ideas. It was up to them to decide if they should act upon it. So for Alpha Stone to know that I was involved, no matter how small, made me cautious. Did he want me in the pack for something other than mating with his son? It would explain why he so readily agreed to my request to not be forced to complete the mate bond.
