Chapter 3

Lia:

I looked down at the ring in my finger as we sat in the private plane, heading back to New York City, glaring at it for a few seconds before I turned my attention to the window beside me.

The wedding was at the D’Caprio Estate in Italy where the whole D’Caprio family was. It was initially supposed to be in New York City, but judging by the fact that they had their traditions of having ‘real’ weddings there, we followed them as they were.

Ezra’s parents were staying back for a few days, wanting to tend to a few things. And both Armando and Madeline were going back with us.

A hand on my shoulder, Ezra’s, broke my attention as he squeezed it gently. He sat on the chair in front of mine, and putting two glasses of whiskey, he pushed one toward me. I knew that he was putting on a show because Madeline and his other men were also watching, and if we were to make this work, then we were going to have to play it right.

“I take it you’re trying to get me drunk tonight?” I asked, making him chuckle.

“No, but I believe that you could use a drink or two.” He said, and I nodded. He was right, I needed more than just two drinks. The fact that Killian was LITERALLY right in front of me and I couldn’t do anything about it didn’t escape my mind, but I knew that I had to stay quiet about it, especially since I knew that it was Ezra who was plotting everything. If it were up to me, I would have killed him and ended all of this, but death was also going to be an easy punishment after everything that I’ve been through because of him.

“Well, what are we going to do now?” I asked, shaking my head in question. He shrugged his shoulders and took another sip of his drink.

“Nothing.”

“I beg your pardon?” I asked, frowning in confusion.

“The two of us are newlyweds, and we are going to act like it.” I shook my head at the man who was actually asking me to play house right now. He got up from his chair, and motioning for me to move aside, he sat on the armrest of the chair beside me as he leaned down to look at me. “There is a reason why I told you that we would be doing things my way. If any of your methods worked before today, you wouldn’t have come to me to begin with; therefore, you are going to start listening without wanting to rush things.”

“And how the bloody fuck do you want us to act like newlyweds, my love?” I asked, batting my lashes sarcastically. Ezra shook his head at me and pulled me to stand before wrapping his arm around me and taking me to a room at the end of the plane. He shook his head at me in question and glaring at him, I pushed him back.

“What is your problem?” He asked.

“I did not fly all the way from Rome to come meet you to simply play house. The two of us had a deal.” I said, glaring at him.

“Yes, and the deal is still on if you stop acting like some bitch who lost her toy.” He snapped back at me. He returned the glare, his once calm expression now turning to the one that I knew when we first met, all the acts fading away completely. “But now we have all eyes on us, and I believe that the last thing you need is for anyone to find out about us not being a real couple. Therefore, I do suggest that you tone your fucking anger down and trust that I did not marry you to get in your fucking pants.”

“You are a bloody prick.”

“And you are too irrational for your own good.” He said, and taking a deep breath, I sat on the edge of the bed. He sat beside me and nodding at me, he put his hand on my knee, squeezing it gently. “You made it this far, I don’t think that you wanted to wear the white dress to begin with; therefore, I don’t really understand why you’re backing out from this right now.”

“I am not the one backing out from this. I wanted to end him.”

“Yes, kill him at the wedding, where pack members from every family are attending. Set a war between the wolves and Lycans, and end both species when humans find out about us. You know, we will have two options in this. If we are lucky, we are going to die, if not, captured by some…”

“I get your point, thank you.” I said, and he smiled, his smile not reaching his eyes though. He got up from bed and took his jacket off, throwing it on the couch that was a few inches away from the bed.

“Get some sleep, I have a few things to work on, and the last thing we need is you having a jetlag when we are back. Especially since we will still have a lot to do.” He said, making me frown in confusion.

“And by a lot to do, you mean?”

“For starters, I think you are well aware that we are going to have to be ‘appearing’ together as a husband and wife, or more specifically, Alpha and Luna, at the wedding ceremony tomorrow, right?” He asked, and taking a deep breath, I pinched the bridge of my nose. That part had completely slipped my mind, but that also meant that the two of us were to mate by the end of tomorrow.

“And that means that the two of us are going to have to mate.” I stated and he nodded.

“I don’t think that anyone would believe that you’ve managed to ‘mask’…”

“I already told you, I would eat your cock if I had to. Day and night, as long as it ensures that the bloody prick is dead by the end of this, I will do what it takes.” I said, stopping him. Ezra smirked, and shaking my head, I took my own jacket off, thankful for the fact that I changed the wedding dress before getting on the plane, and pulled the blanket from the bed before laying on it. He sat on the edge of the bed beside me, and putting a hand on my shoulder, he gently ran his finger over it.

“Get a little rest, neonata. Because I believe that you have a long way of ‘eating’ my dick day and night when we’re home…”
