Chapter 4

Ezra:

“Are you sure that she would be able to get through this?” Armando asked as the two of us entered my office.

Having arrived home to the Estate, Lia was upstairs in the bedroom, getting ready for the ceremony while Armando and I had work to tend to.

Thankfully, she was asleep throughout most of the flight and that meant that I could get a few things done while on the way. And now, it was time to see what we missed here while we were in Italy, and though it was a needed ‘vacation’ off work, the number of things we did and people we visited and who visited us only made it a lot more exhausting. Either way, things were also done back there, and the deals that were made there made it worthwhile.

“She is drawn over by revenge, and believe me, the crystal that she’s carrying with her is more dangerous than even she knows. She wants to take him down, and that is more important to me to play with.” I said, looking at Armando who shook his head at me. “Be sure to have men keeping an eye on her where she goes. I may be her husband, and that rounds her a bit within the pack’s grounds, but we can’t keep her locked here, and I don’t want her hiding that crystal anywhere we can’t find it.”

“Yes, boss.”

“Good, now, we need to ensure that Killian is still in our palm, don’t you think?” I asked.

“With you being married to Lia, I don’t think that he would be roaming around wanting you to marry Annalise anymore. Though I don’t think that the Lycan’s little ‘princess’ liked that you are now no longer available for her.” He said, and I nodded, knowing that he was right. The look that she gave told me that she was more than just a little upset, but I doubted that she could do anything with her brother being on her tail. That is at least, if he doesn’t send her in our way, or more specifically, in Lia’s way.

“As long as we manage to keep her away from Lia, I can assume that things will be fine. For now, we only need to be concerned about planning our next moves. The two of us are going to need to appear in a few places, and Killian would be there as well, in turn, we need to ensure that he doesn’t find out who Lia is, what she has, and why the two of us got married.” I said, and Armando nodded. “And that means that she needs to learn how to control her anger.”

“I am sure that you can manage that part.” Armando teased, and I shook my head, not really sure of it. I didn’t really expect her to be as angry when she saw him at the wedding, especially considering the fact that the man had killed them when she was sixteen, and that was when she ran. She was twenty-five now, and that means that it happened nine years ago. A lot has changed in the past nine years, but it seems like her anger simply grew with her.

“As long as I can ensure that she doesn’t end up trying to kill the man while in a public event, I can assume that we will be okay. I just need to ensure that she wouldn't do it the second she catches sight of him.” I said, and Armando chuckled. I shook my head as I opened the file that I had finished reading through while in the plane. “How about we get this shit done before the ceremony tonight, yeah?”

“Yes, Alpha…”

************************************

I watched as Lia walked out of the house wearing a white knee long dress.

Madeline put a flower tiara on her head, lilies, and smiling, Lia approached me with a smile on her face. I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her toward the fire that we had started earlier.

The men grew excited, this being the first wedding we’ve had since my parents chose to get ‘married’ we usually settled for a simple ceremony when a couple found their mates. But that hasn’t happened in the past three years, and now considering the fact that it was their ALPHA who found his ‘mate’, it was different.

In truth, I had rejected my mate years ago, not wanting her to grow attached to a story that wasn’t real, and it wasn’t until Killian killed her when he found out about it, wanting me to marry his sister, that I regretted rejecting her. The man knew that he got on my bad side since then, but considering that I never did open the subject with him, he believed that I wasn’t aware that it was him who shot her.

“Someone is looking beautiful this evening.” I complimented. I had to make sure that everyone around us still believed that the two of us were married, and though this was our home, and the pack was MY pack, there was always a slight chance that someone could accidentally speak, or in other words, a maid here or there could hear anything. All the possibilities were there, and therefore, we chose to just keep it as it is.

“And you don’t look bad yourself, Alpha.” She said, putting her hand on my shirt, gently straightening it. I smirked and wrapped my arm around her waist as I pulled two lilies, a tradition that we had in the family. Removing two flowers from the tiara, and throwing them in the fire, the bigger the fire grew, the bigger the love. And that was why the flowers were mostly sprayed with oil.

I smirked when the fire erupted, growing bigger, and looking down at Lia, she laughed and shook her head at me.

“Well, it seems like our love would be growing ‘extra’.” I teased, looking at Madeline who smiled as she danced to the music. She approached the two of us and put her hand on my shoulder, squeezing it gently.

“I had to add extra virgin olive oil to ensure that we don’t ruin your woman’s hair, and I may have added an extra shot of it as well to ensure the big fire. Don’t worry, it’s sprayed with perfume, and lavender oil.” she said, and shaking her head, Lia laughed as we watched Maddie dance with Lorenzo, her ‘friend’, if we can call him that until now at least. She kissed his lips, and wrapping his arms around her waist, he pulled her closer, deepening the kiss, not really caring about the fact that everyone was actually watching them.

“I believe that we would start having a class on how to make children right here in front of the fire.” Lia said, raising an eyebrow at Maddie and Lorenzo who lifted her in his arms. The woman wrapped her arms and legs around him, most probably drunk with all the wine that I knew she had. “Aren’t there kids around that could see them?”

“The kids don’t come down in such ceremonies. You will be seeing them tomorrow though as I knew that most of them are curious about meeting their Luna. As for making children; don’t worry, I’ll be giving you the practical practice right after our dance.” I said, nudging her with her shoulder. “I do hope that you’re ready for the long night…”
