As soon as we crossed the road from the woods, I took a deep calming breath, as whatever was following our car also stopped following us from there. But as soon as we entered Springfield, my anxiety reached its peak again....{Now I have to be aware of hunters}..... I don't have any issue talking with anyone, but the continuous questions of that passenger seat guy were now irritating me.

For almost half an hour, I had been giving him answers with just yes or no, but the guy was unable to understand that right now, my mind was not in the conversation. They pulled the car into a gas station.

"I think I will go from here on my own. Thank you so much for the ride. It's good to meet you," I told them and was about to open the door, but the guy that was in the driver's seat stopped me.

"If you want, then we can drop you where you want. We are just wanderers," he said while his friend was outside.

"I have to meet some friends here in Springfield. I will cover the further route with them,"

Arya’s POV: When I regained consciousness, I felt as if someone was hammering my head. I opened my eyes and found myself in the woods.... {not only these stupids sedated me but they also took me to the exact place I didn't want to be}... I prayed to God that I was not in some pack's territory. Both my hands were tied to trees on either side, and both guys were a little away smoking weed. As we were in the middle of the forest, I assumed their car was parked somewhere nearby on the road. In any other case, I would have waited for them to do something or made some strategy to get away from this situation, but right now, I couldn't wait for them to do something because there were many threats to my life in these woods than just these two stupid fools. "Care to explain why the hell I'm here?" I shouted, and that's when they finally realized that I was awake. Instead of answering me, both of them started laughing like maniacs while coming towards me. "Didn't your mom teach you not to si

"You are hurt again," he stated, and I narrowed my eyes at him. He snatched the bag I was wearing in front of me and threw it out of my reach. {There goes my only hope of getting away from him} "Well, at least I'm still alive, even after your numerous attempts to kill me," I snapped. He turned me around, pressed my face against the door, and slashed my T-shirt. It made me extremely mad. The nerve of this man! "Leave me, you bastard!" I shouted, but he shushed me. "You should really learn to stay away from dangerous people," he said. Before I could say anything, he ripped off the bandage I had applied to my wound a while ago. I pressed my lips together to avoid shrieking in front of him. I knew him for more than half of my life, and I clearly knew that his prey's shrieks always boosted his ego and confidence. If I was going to die soon, I wasn't going to boost his ego, that's for sure. "What the hell are you doing, Jace?" I shouted at him and wriggled harshly. "Trying to see how de

A week later - Who would have thought that getting a job in some corporate would be so hard? Yeah, I know that I don’t have a respectable degree or anything, but still, why can’t I get a high-paying job without a degree when I am ready to work my ass off?... Don’t need to mention, I know that I am just spouting nonsense right now. I applied for many positions in many companies but forget about getting rejected, my resume didn’t even get accepted anywhere for even an interview. So, I said yes to the first job that I got here and rented the first house that I thought I could pay for. It’s not like I am completely broke or something. I have earned much in the last five years, and believe me, it's true when I say that a tattoo artist makes a lot.... but I don’t know for how long I have to stay here or if I will ever be able to work as a tattoo artist again. (That’s the major problem. If I could work as a tattoo artist, I wouldn’t even have to think about earning because I knew I was good

I took a deep breath and forced a smile on my face. I greeted all of them at once and introduced myself, but none of them seemed interested in listening to anything that I was saying... well, that's a 180-degree change from the knights. There they were all focused on me, but in this case, no one even seemed interested in turning their gaze toward the source of the sound. Well, I can't blame them. There's a high chance that they weren't even able to hear anything I said in all this chaos. One of the guys came towards me. "I want more of this shit," he said while showing me an empty glass... "Okay," I replied, "I can help you order through that tablet. You just have to tell me the drink's name." His expression turned annoyed in seconds. "That crappy tab is not working. Just bring me this right now," he said a little harshly, and I tried hard to keep my expression polite. He took a couple of steps towards me and invaded my personal space. I took a few steps backward, but before he could

I looked into the chamber and the majority of people were passed out. Those who were not passed out were not in a state to do anything. So, I went towards the washroom area and saw the window guy and the Knight twins there. One of the twins was holding the other one very tight, while the other one was looking extremely furious at the window guy. "What happened here?" I asked when I realized that there were no restaurant staff nearby. None of them said anything, but the deadly expressions that those twins were giving that window guy told me clearly that this case was going to be a little tricky. "Let’s go from here, Aria. Dee is here, he will kill this man," the twin who was holding the furious twin said. "I am not going to bother Dee. I will kill this man with my own hands," the furious twin said. At the same time, their mom also came. "What is happening here, Aria, Bria?" she came towards them and then looked at me with a questioning gaze. "That stupid guy first bumped into me,

“Hello, ma’am, are you there?” I came back to my senses when he spoke in a loud voice. “Yes, I am here. Sorry… I mean, yes. Just send me the details. When and where do I have to meet? Do I have to give an interview? What stupid question am I asking? Obviously, I have to give an interview.” I blabbered stupidly and clicked my tongue. {Stupid Arya, he will reject you on the phone call itself.} “Okay.” I could hear the hesitancy in his voice clearly. “I will send you the details,” he said and cut the call. I groaned in embarrassment and fell on the bed while screaming into my pillow. “Stupid, stupid, stupid Arya…. You are the most foolish person in this whole universe.” I knew it was hard for me to get selected there according to my educational qualifications, but at least I could have gone there and had an interview for once. But stupid me got rejected even before giving the interview. I stayed in bed in anticipation for almost an hour, but still, he didn’t message me. When I finally

Diego’s POV - I closed my laptop harshly and slumped on the chair. “Get your shit together Delcan. Thinking about her and only her will make us insane” I snapped at my beast and in return, he did nothing but just growled at me as always. He stopped talking after that night but I can feel his emotions very well. I kind of miss him very much. Whenever I was not in a good mental state he was the one who was always with me but now when I don't have him to constantly nag me in every situation I feel lonely. Both of us were agitated, irritated, angry, confused, and not feeling good after we met that huntress. We don’t want to think about her or to even accept that we have finally met our mate but again we both are stuck on what to do in this situation. We were not like the other people who had imagined this scenario of finding their mate many times. Truth be told we both were a little nervous and not certain about finding our mate for a long time. • Alpha Diego : The Unhealed Wound   Chapter 23 - Meeting him again

I don't have the guts to see the face of the man from whom I am feeling those tingles, but without even looking at his face, I already know who he is. I stared at his chest, which was covered with a black t-shirt, and my heart was already thumping hard in my chest. My brain was already playing that 7-minute streaming of my whole life before dying that everyone talks about. I finally took a deep breath and raised my head to look at him, but as soon as I saw his glowing eyes, my breath caught away. His grey eyes were now hazel in color and looked as if they were glowing. I tried but failed to tear my gaze away from him. The attraction that I was trying to ignore for days knocked me out hard. I knew that my being dead was a matter of a few seconds or minutes (if I was lucky), but why deny anything when I only had a few moments of my life remaining? I was clutching his t-shirt hard, and I was well aware of his hands on my waist too, which was the only support that was not letting my body

"What do you want?" she didn't give me time to even see the things properly and stood in front of me with her hands crossed."To tell you my truth," I said and sat on the sofa or bed; I don't know what it is."But I didn't want to know anything about you," she stated, and I took a deep breath."Don't you feel attracted towards me?" I asked her, and she didn't say anything. "Don't you feel angry when you imagine someone else with me?" The way she clenched her fists, I already know her answer."That's why. I also can't even imagine you with someone else. I know that you will find someone else soon. I also know that you are unable to feel the bond as strongly as I feel because you are human. But I didn't want to regret my whole life that I sent my mate away from me because I was scared." She scrunched her eyebrows but didn't say anything."I have secrets, a lot of secrets. Those secrets are something that, even after years, I just learned to avoid and not fully accept them." Before I con

"I am listening, love," Ryder replied to Arya, and now I think it's time to interrupt their little game. "Buy something sizzling hot and spicy for me, and no bread, please. I am sick of eating bread every other day for a year now," her words and Ryder's expressions not only shocked me but also made me clasp my hand tightly around my mouth to refrain from laughing out loud. Ryder kept looking at her with monotonous expressions for a good few minutes when his big brother Jace decided to interrupt. "Why are you wasting your time when you already know she is a tough nut to crack? I am the one who trained her to not break in situations like these. She has already been tortured in training, and no one was ever able to break her until her mom was not the one... and now she is dead. We don't have any weapon to use against her." Arya didn't say anything; she just smirked at both of them, which, much to my amusement, didn't make either of them mad. "No, brother, none of you were able to under

I ran towards the graveyard but was unable to spot Arya or Ry. I mind-linked the warrior whom I had sent to drop Arya off at the borders, but he informed me that the Alpha King planned to drop her there by himself. I mind-linked Ry, and as soon as the connection was established, I instantly felt that something was off. "Ry, where are you?" I asked him. "I don't think you should come here," his statement made me more anxious than before. "Ry... if it's about Arya, then I am surely going to come there," I stated and walked towards the border. "Fine, just follow the directions I am mind-linking, don't let your scent and aura out, and be as silent as you can. Be cautious; I still don't know what these people are capable of... And yes," he stopped, which made me more anxious. "Keep your beast calm. If he surfaces, then we will lose a great opportunity to capture a very dangerous person," he informed me, and I followed his instructions without thinking twice. Obviously, Arya never falls

"You can't lie to me," his eyes turned emerald in color. "So, don't even try," he said, and though I was scared to the core, I still tried to hold my ground. I won't put myself in trouble until they know the exact thing, and they can only get this information from me. "What gave you that idea?" I asked him, trying to appear as calm as possible. "Listen, kid, I am the alpha king for a reason. I can hear your heartbeats; I can smell fear on you," he warned. "That's not fear, that's called sweat, and everyone sweats... I just sweat a lot," I told him with fake sass. He glared at me as if he could bury me six feet under the ground right then and there. I did my best not to look away from his eyes. "A liar with confidence like you is a disaster," he muttered, but I didn't say anything in response; I just kept looking into his eyes. After a while, a warrior approached us, baring his neck as soon as he reached us. He didn't even raise his gaze towards the alpha king. "You can go. I will

I groaned in pain as my whole body hurt like hell, and I was sure that my stupidity would result in ugly bruises all over my body by tomorrow. I expected people to come running when they heard me shrieking, but when none of them came, I realized that the werewolves obviously had soundproof doors. I really needed to think about all these things before doing stupid things. I groaned at my own stupidity. I decided to lie like this for a few minutes because after falling down the stairs, my head was spinning. God knows what else I have to do to correct the mistakes I've made in the past. Suddenly, I heard a bang from upstairs and the footsteps of a couple of people running. Despite my efforts, I finally gave up trying to stand up from the floor. "Arya," I heard Diego's voice calling for me. "Yeah," I shouted, and instantly saw him, along with the king and queen, running toward me. "What happened?" he asked me. Though he came running towards me, the pain I saw on his face made me reali

"Leave Dee out of all this, and I will see what I can do in this situation," Alpha King said to Federico, who took a deep breath. "I really wanted to take your help, but even after being the Alpha King, you can't help me, Alpha. You are not a Lycan," he stated, making me wonder what they are discussing. "We will never know until we try," Luna Queen said to the old man. Though I still can't understand what they are discussing, I can see that the matter is very serious. It would have been great if I could get popcorn while listening to all these exciting things. I sat on a nearby chair and folded my legs to make myself comfortable. "No, Addy, Ry... none of you are getting yourselves into this. You already have a lot to deal with," Diego interrupted. "Federico, none of us can help you," he said with authority. "Give us a bit of time to think about things. You can stay in the guest's room until then. Downstairs, the warriors are waiting for you. They will show you the place where you'l

I can hear the voices around me, but I am in so much pain that my brain is unable to process anything that anyone is saying. When I felt someone's hand on my shoulder, I shouted in panic, "Don't touch me, it hurts!" I shouted. I know that I am fine; I made sure not to get hurt, so why am I feeling so much pain? "Sedate her, Addy. Give her anesthesia," there is complete chaos around me, but Diego's voice is ringing loud and clear in my ears. What is happening? I feel my body being lifted up from the ground, and people are moving around me, but I am unable to understand anything. I am sitting above a silver wolf while someone is clutching me from behind. I can see a huge black wolf nearby, and on it, a wounded Diego is sitting while the old man is sitting behind Diego, clutching him tightly. There is surely something wrong with me, there are no silver wolves in this world. The last thing I remember is Diego's face, which looks sad while tears are falling from his eyes. "Diego..." I mu

Arya’s POV - "These girls will make me mad someday," he said, while I could clearly see him getting panicked. He instantly turned towards me and placed his hands on my shoulders. "Go to the hospital and get yourself checked. I will be back soon," he told me, and without waiting for my reply, he jumped out of the window. I wanted to shout behind him to take me with him too, but he was too fast. Within seconds, I couldn't even see him in the woods. "Maybe I could have helped," I mumbled. I didn't think our meeting would be like this, for sure. When I came back, he was so good with me. For once, I really thought that he wanted me to stay here with him. But then in the morning, he himself told me that I could go once I was healthy. I sat on the nearby chair and took a deep breath. "Stop thinking all this, Arya," I said to myself, but I still felt terrible about Diego's lack of interest in me. "Being with Diego was never possible in the first place. Throughout the night, I kept gazing at Arya's peacefully sleeping features. I noticed how she would occasionally smile in her sleep, how her nose twitched, and the adorable way she would itch her face when her hair touched it. She mumbled some coherent things with a slight frown, and she slept with her mouth wide open. I was so engrossed in admiring her that the entire night slipped away, and I still felt as if I had just arrived. When she furrowed her brow and partially opened her eyes, I knew she would wake up soon. So, I sat casually and waited for her. Gradually, she woke up, and the first thing she did was groan in pain. Before I could understand why she was groaning, she mumbled, "Oww, my back..." I rolled my eyes. Obviously, this is a chair, not a bed. What was she thinking when she slept here? "damn, I am unable to feel my butt," I stifled my laugh. "Expected it to be comfortable?" she jerked up and straightened her clothes when she heard my voice. "When did you arrive?" she
