A year ago, Cecilia had met her mate at the funeral of her father and three brothers. He was Vahn Bollen, the Alpha of the Thorn Pack. A year later, Vahn returned from the battlefield, announcing he would marry another woman. "You can continue as Luna, but I'll be marrying Freeda. Once you're pregnant with my cub, I won't touch you again," he said. "I would never accept such a shameless request," Cecilia replied.

Chapter 1 Two Wives

Cecilia POV

"Of course, I object!" I hadn't expected that on the very day Vahn Bollen returned, he would present such an audacious and preposterous proposal.

"I don't care if you object. I will still take Freeda Lawlor as my wife."

Vahn tugged at his shirt collar, his voice growing increasingly impatient and sharp. The apologetic look on his face has also vanished. "Of course, you will remain the Luna of Thorn Pack—as long as you fulfill your duties and abide by the rules."

"Even if I consent, what you propose is unlawful. No Alpha is permitted two wives—not even the Alpha King would dare such a thing." I met his gaze with icy defiance before settling back into my chair and pouring a cup of Cinnamon black tea.

Some werewolves dallied with others even after finding their mate, but purely physically. Anyone caught marking multiple mates faced exile, relegated to the life of a Rogue. This fate spared no one, not even the Alpha King of Valdora.

"I won't mark her, so technically, it's not illegal. Besides, the Alpha King has already sanctioned my relationship with Freeda." Vahn, towering over six feet, peered down at me with a haughty glare.

"You won't mark her? Then, how is she different from any mistress?" I could hardly believe that Valdora's only Alpha Female would consent to such a demotion.

"She will be my wife. Show some respect! We will soon hold a formal wedding, with all the Alphas invited. This isn't a discussion. I am merely notifying you, out of respect for our year together as a couple."

"So, you've plotted everything already." I sipped my tea, slightly bitter from over-steeping. "Do you recall the oath you took a year ago at the graves of my father and three brothers?"

Last July, on the brink of my eighteenth birthday, I awaited the homecoming of my father and brothers to celebrate my coming of age. Instead, I was greeted with the grim tidings of their deaths in battle. At their funeral, I met Vahn. Nana, my wolf, told me he was my mate. Of course, he found that out, too.

Finding one's mate was meant to be the happiest moment of a werewolf's life, yet I was consumed by the grievous loss of my beloved family, numb to the world around me.

After the funeral, Vahn wanted me to move to Thorn Pack, but I did not want to.

Vahn stood before the graves of my father and brothers as he swore to my mother that he would cherish, protect, and remain eternally faithful to me. With tears cascading down her cheeks, my mother bid me farewell, entrusting me into Vahn's care.

Who could have imagined that in just a year, this man would be preparing to wed another?

What happened was probably embarrassing for Vahn; after a tense silence, he bowed his head and sighed deeply.

"Back then, I had no concept of love. You are my mate, and there exists a natural bond between us—a destiny neither of us can escape. But with Freeda, it's different; we are true soulmates who understand each other." Vahn's smirk broke through his previous facade as he met my gaze. "You wouldn't understand."

"I certainly don't. I fail to see how a man can rationalize, with such bold assurance, the act of cheating on his mate."

All my sorrow and anger had slowly transformed into disgust and contempt. Despite everything, not a trace of remorse was directed toward me or my family. I was astounded that a man capable of such grave errors lacked even the courage to acknowledge them. He didn't believe he had done anything wrong.

Nana was howling inside of me. She wanted to pounce on Vahn and tear that handsome face apart. She wanted to dig out those brown eyes of his. I struggled to pacify her, but my tension shattered the teacup in my grasp, spilling blood-stained tea onto the intricate hand-woven carpet.

"Cecilia..." Vahn looked shocked. He wanted to check on my hand, but I pushed him away. My father had been one of the most formidable Alphas in Valdora; I was his daughter, and to me, such a wound was trivial. In just one second, it had fully healed over.

"Cecilia, I haven't broken my oath. Even married to Freeda, I will always protect you. You remain Thorn Pack's Luna, and I wish to avoid conflict. My mother has arranged a feast tonight," he said as he turned to leave, then hesitated. "Freeda will be there too. I expect no disturbances from you."

"Where is she now? I want to talk to her," I said coldly.

"There's no need for that. She's busy assisting our warriors. Unlike you, she leads them in battle throughout the year, not spending her days indulging in frivolities and gossip." He didn't glance back as he left.

He had barely arrived home before he ordered the servants to prepare a separate room for him, showing no interest in maintaining even a facade of affection before the pack.

After Vahn's departure, Pearly Yates, my attendant, entered with tear-stained eyes. She began cleaning the broken porcelain and dabbing at the tea stains on the carpet.

"Did you hear all of that?" I patted her on the shoulder.

Pearly had been a playmate from my former pack and was an Omega. Her mother had been our cook, and her father was my father's Beta. After her parents passed away when she was young, my mother adopted her. When I became Luna of the Thorn Pack last year, she became my attendant, but in my heart, she was as dear as a sister.

"I can't believe he has become this person! If your father and brothers were still here, they would never have let him treat you this way!" Pearly managed through her tears.

"I'll rip that bitch's throat out tonight!" Nana roared. She was an extremely irritable and uncontrollable wolf with a gorgeous red pelt. When I first got her at the age of 16, I lost control while in school. I destroyed the school's kitchen, forcing everyone to go hungry for the day. My punishment had been a week of confinement.

'Shush!' I quieted Nana, then turned to Pearly. "Don't fret. I'll confront the Alpha Female first. Help me pick out something suitable to wear tonight."

If this is the werewolf version of “her graceful war song,” then I won’t start it ‘cause that was a very, very long story

Chapter 2 The One And Only Alpha Female
Cecilia POVI stared into the mirror. My red curls cascaded around my shoulders, set off by the simplicity of the white suit dress that hugged my voluptuous curves with both sensuality and subtlety."Wear this tonight." Pearly offered a necklace with a lotus pendant crafted from rubies, draping it around my neck. The red lotus was emblematic of the Lotus Pack, once led by my father.Pearly was not only have inherited her mother's amazing cooking skills, but also possessed an unmatched discerning eye for. As a child, while I sparred and trained with my brothers in the woods, Pearly preferred dealing with all sorts of fabrics at home. Sometimes, she would create flowers out of cloth that were so real that one could barely tell they were made from fabric.Together, we made our way to the banquet hall. I swung the doors open and scanned the room, taking in the faces of Vahn's family and the 16 key members of the Thorn Pack seated at the long tables.During the era of Vahn's great-gran

Chapter 3 Sex Live show
Cecilia POVSome werewolves would have sex with other werewolves or humans even after they found their mates. However, they would usually close off the link between them and their mates before doing so. Otherwise, it was kind of sex live show to their mate, and it would also cause their mate intense pain. Clearly, Vahn was using this as a form of retaliation against me.Right now, even with a whole floor between us, I could hear the two of them moaning and groaning. Every thrust into her pussy was a stab to my chest. If I were an Omega or Beta, I would not have the ability to close off the link with my Alpha. I might even faint from the agony. Thankfully, my strong Alpha blood gave me the power to fight against Vahn.Once the bond was severed, Nana growled with a desire for revenge against Vahn. I didn't stop her this time. Following their scent, I stormed to their room and kicked the door open. Before they could react, I snapped photos of them with fervor."What are you doing?"

Chapter 4 Meeting the Alpha King
Cecilia POVBefore I moved to Thorn Pack, my mother, Aria Dunn, warned me about the challenges of being a Luna. With great power came great responsibility. The Alpha needed strength to command the pack's loyalty, while the Luna had to use her wits to earn their respect. Managing people was an art form. It required a keen understanding of who was trustworthy and who was not.Shortly after my arrival at the Thorn Pack, I had Pearly gather gossip from public places like the market and the bar about Vahn and his family. As an Omega, Pearly was better positioned to earn people's trust. Many in the pack were aware of Rosie's past actions of murdering the pregnant woman back then, but they were too fearful to speak openly."Backstabbing bitches!" Pearly exclaimed, stomping her foot in frustration. "What can we do now? Are we just supposed to watch as they get married?""Check the flights to Black Stone for tonight," I instructed, taking a bite of the apple pie Rosie had brought. It tast

Chapter 5 Surprise Guest
Julian POV"Is the ceasefire agreement with the Rogues signed?" Hogan Grant, my father and the Alpha King of Valdora, asked, lifting his head from a stack of documents."It has been signed, but…" I hesitated. The situation surrounding the battle in the northwest felt off to me.All of the Western Wastelands belonged to the Rogue King's pack. They had been at war with us for over half a century. Their persistent conflict with us seemed driven by a desire for Valdora's natural resources. They had the upper hand the entire time we battled over Ashfall in the northwest, yet they were the first to suggest a ceasefire. "Julian, it's just the two of us here. Speak your mind.""After Vahn and Freeda's surprise attack, the enemy immediately proposed a ceasefire. Could this be a trap? They've won the last three battles." "Regardless, it's a relief that the war might be ending. No one wants to be in conflict."I nodded and handed him the signed agreement. "Forgive the intrusion, My Kin

Chapter 6 Walking In The Rain
Julian POV"You want me to annul the marriage between Vahn and Freeda, don't you? Have a seat." Hogan gestured to the chair beside me.Cecilia looked at me in surprise, clearly taken aback. She seemed exceedingly shy and reserved, probably because she did not want to discuss her private matters before a stranger. "This is my son, Julian. He's just returned from the battlefield. Don't mind him; just speak your mind without hesitation," Hogan said before turning to Ben. "Have the servants bring her some coffee."Cecilia took a seat beside me. A subtle fragrance of lotus blossoms mixed with the scent of morning dew drifted my way. Describing a wolf's scent was always challenging; it was something best experienced firsthand. For werewolves, love often began with finding the other's scent appealing."You misunderstood me. I'm not here to stop their wedding. I am here to ask that you annul my mate bond with Vahn.""Annul your mate bond?" Hogan asked, clearly stunned by her request.B

Chapter 7 First Night In The Palace
Cecilia POVI had seen photos of Julian before on werewolf forums. His long black hair was typically swept back into a simple ponytail. His dark green eyes and beard made him appear more mature than his years. Unlike the glamorous and elegant princes of fairy tales, he looked more like a cold-hearted and fierce warrior. In a world where strength was prized, Julian was undoubtedly the ideal mate for many young werewolves.Seeing him in person, I realized he was even taller and more muscular than his photos suggested. He was at least 6 feet 2 with shoulders and a chest so broad that it looked like one could draw out the nation's map on them. As I stood next to him, I could detect a subtle scent of mint and ebony, which was surprisingly pleasant and refreshing.Despite his rough exterior, his voice was deep, gentle, and smooth, offering a calming and reassuring presence.I now understood why so many women were captivated by him. However, I hadn't expected to discuss my personal matt

Chapter 8 He Pulled Out Your Water Lilies
Cecilia POVWhen I woke up the next morning, I pulled open the curtains to find the sun shining bright outside. My phone had run out of battery, and as I plugged it in to charge, I noticed it was already 10.00AM. I had several missed calls—five from Pearly and two from Vahn.I quickly messaged Pearly and then rushed to freshen up and get dressed. As I was about to leave, I bumped into a maid."Good morning, miss. Mr. Grant asked me to prepare a set of clean clothes for you," she said."There's no need. Where is he now?" I asked, intending to let him know I was leaving. This was my first night away since getting married, and I had no idea what kind of mess awaited me when I returned."He left early this morning for work. He also asked to be notified once you woke up."I realized I didn't have his phone number, so I asked the maid for a pen and some paper. 'Thank you for your help yesterday. I need to head home. Take care! From, Cecilia.'I folded the note into a paper crane and

Chapter 9 I Won't Touch You After You're Pregnant
Cecilia POV"Dr. Pearce!" Pearly greeted with a bright smile, pulling Henry inside and guiding him to the patio. It was evening by now, and the patio had a beautiful view of the sunset. Henry's presence alone spoke volumes about why he was there."Henry, are you aware of Vahn's marriage to Freeda?" I asked tentatively."They've gone too far!" Henry's frustration was palpable as he slammed his hand on the table, causing the spoon in the teacup to leap into the air. "I'm treating Rosie only because you asked me to. If they can't show some gratitude, I won't be coming back.""Dr. Pearce, please, calm down for now. Try some of my rum chocolate cookies," Pearly suggested, knowing full well Henry's love for chocolate. She always made sure to have an assortment of treats ready for his visits to the Thorn Pack."What are your plans now? Does your mother know about the situation?" Henry sighed."For now, keep it from my mother. I'm her only daughter, and I don't want her to worry about

Chapter 10 I Don't Want Your Baby
Cecilia POV"What?" Pearly gasped in shock. Realizing she had spoken too loudly, she quickly covered her mouth, as though afraid she would blurt out all the curse words flowing through her mind. I had never heard anything so absurd in my life."You would agree to let your lover father a cub with me?" I asked Freeda, who wore an awkward expression."You are still legally his mate. I can't strip you of the right to have cubs," she replied, turning her face away in clear anger."If you don't like it, Cecilia and I could arrange it through IVF. I promise I won't lay a hand on her," Vahn hastened to assure Freeda."I trust you. I'm not petty, either. You're still her mate, and even if you two were to be intimate, I have no right to stop you.""Wait! I never agreed to have kids with you." I rolled my eyes. Ever since I had seen Vahn and Freeda together, I felt nothing but revulsion whenever I looked at him. While mates are naturally drawn to each other, I had lost all interest in his
