I have been staring blankly on the walls for the four hours now and I think I could stare at it until it's time to get off work.

I could still feel my heart beating, my breath still unsteady and my hands and knees shaking. Trying to calm myself, I took slow but heavy breaths but it's not helping.

"Arrrrgh!" I groaned in frustration. Throwing my head right in my table, I kept mumbling curses and hoped that the floor would just open up and swallow me now. I can't take the embarrassment anymore.

I can't help but feel conscious after what happened inside his office. I never expected him to do that. I can't believe he sniffed me like I'm a perfume he can't get enough of, and the fact that he knew that I was with Tristan made me wonder how the hell he found out! Like, you can't just say who I was with by merely smelling my skin right? It's not like Tristan sprayed perfume that made it cling to my skin and we weren't even close to one another. As far as I can remember, there was about a meter of distance between the two of us so it would be impossible for his perfume to linger around my skin unless his perfume smelled strong, which didn't.

God! I hate this. I could still feel his lips on my skin and I hate to admit it but I love how it felt. How it brought sparks and how my stomach twisted in excitement but this is wrong! I can't be thinking about my boss in any sexual way. I can't.

"Arrrrrgh!!!"

"Excuse me?" I jolted up from my seat and my eyes landed on a very beautiful woman who is now looking at me with concern in her eyes.

"Oh, hi, good afternoon. How can I help you?" I said trying my best to smile. She smiled back at me, awkwardly.

"Are you alright?" I didn't expect her to ask me this though.

"Yes. What can I help you with?" I asked her politely, trying to avoid my personal issues getting involved with work.

"I came to see Cyrus." And she smiled. Her face lit up when she said his name and I hate how easily a tinge of jealousy crept into my skin but I have to keep this inside me because I am working for the man she's looking for.

Although I am curious as to what she is to him, I can't ask her that, not when she doesn't look like him a bit. She doesn't look like a relative, so that means, she can be a friend or more than that. A lover may be, and I do not want to know more because I shouldn't be bothered about it.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Again, there's concern in her voice.

"Yes, I'm sorry, I was..."

"It's a boy, right?"

"What?" My eyes grew big at her words.

"You're acting this way because you're thinking of a boy. Is he your boyfriend?" I blushed. The thought of Cyrus being my boyfriend sent my stomach in a whole new world and it's dancing with glee. But reality took that joy away.

"No, he's not." I didn't miss how disappointed I sounded when I said that.

"Oh, so, he's your crush." Is h

I've only been here for three days and I haven't had the chance to be with him. I couldn't even see him, just this morning when I surprised him with coffee and when I brought him food. So, no. I don't have a crush on him.

"If you don't mind, ma'am, let's just get you inside. Just give me a minute to check if you have a scheduled appointment with Mr. Steele." I said, dodging the sudden question before checking on my computer.

"Your name ma'am?"

"Alicia, but, you don't have to check on that because he's expecting me anyway. And I brought him lunch." She said raising her two hands with two bags from a take out fast food. I nodded my head and smiled at her weakly.

"Oh! I see. You may go inside, ma'am." I said and she thanked me genuinely but I can't do the same. I just nodded my head once more and watched her walk towards his office.

*****

I just came out of the elevator but my eyes immediately landed on his door. I've been doing this since that Alicia got inside his office. She's been in there for two long hours and hell I am starting to wonder what they are up to.

To be honest, I didn't even get to finish my lunch earlier and now, my twenty-minute break passed by like a blur because I was in a hurry to come back here and see whether she had left or not and I think she's still here. Dragging my feet to my table, I lazily sat on my chair and wrote nothings on my notepad.

"What a writing you got there." I looked up to see a smiling Tristan.

"What do you want?" I asked him, taking away my eyes off him.

"Hey, I thought you would serve me right? Is this the best quality service you could give?" He asked, amusement evident in his voice.

"Shut up. You're not a customer nor an important businessman anyway." If I got lasers in my eyes, his office door must be full with holes right now.

"Ouch! That hurts you know?"

"Stop acting like a drama queen. Why are you here anyway?" I said finally looking at him. I let go of my pen and folded my arms over my chest.

He smiled. His dimples playing on both of his cheeks and I smiled unconsciously. He winked and my smile grew big.

"Did I just light up your day?" He asked cheekily. He did, but I won't tell him that.

"Keep on dreaming." I said in a playful voice.

"I guess I will." Then he winked once more. I laughed lowly.

"What brought you here?" I said trying to keep my voice sound normal and unbothered.

"Promise me you won't keep your hopes up." He said then I raised my eyebrows at him. He laughed then continued. "I saw you at the cafeteria earlier and you just threw your lunch so I bought something for you." He placed a paper bag right in front of me, I just looked at it.

"Don't skip your meals again, okay? I'll see you later." He said patting my head before leaving me behind in like a span of two seconds.

Seriously, what's with these people and their ability to walk fast?

Letting out a deep sigh, I smiled at the paper bag and kept it under my table. He shouldn't have brought me this because lunch break is over. He's such an idiot. A sweet idiot. Making it so easy for me to talk to him casually. I guess he's the first friend I made since I came here.

A few more hours of literally doing nothing, it's time for me to go home and I'm not really sure if I should be happy or sad about this. The fact that the woman named Alicia didn't leave Mr. Steele's office bothered me like hell but I can't do anything about it. Like I have said, I shouldn't care about it.

So, I just decided to leave the building and throw away this uncomfortable feeling that's been bugging me since this morning. Shutting down the computer and fixing the files on my desk, I gave his office door one more look before exiting the floor.

I'm not in the mood, really, and I am walking like a zombie with my head hanging down low. I feel so stressed and exhausted although I didn't do much of work today.

I was on my last step out of the building when suddenly, someone pulled me lightly. I looked back to see Tristan smiling at me.

"What do you want?"

"Dinner."

"Then go buy yourself a take out." I said in a low tone. His face saddened. He let go of my arm and he started to pout.

"Why are you pushing me away? Didn't I tell you I will see you?"

Oh, so that's what he meant earlier.

"I didn't say yes though."

"But silence means yes." He smirked. Showing me his cute dimples and I just shook my head with a little smile playing across my face.

"And a smile means yes too so let's go." I didn't bother to counter back anymore and just let him drag me with him.

"I hope you don't mind us, you know, walking." He said as he turned to look at me. I smiled at him.

"I don't own a car and I don't ride a cab so often so yeah, walking is totally fine." I told him honestly.

I actually really like walking especially at night where you would see cars passing by and its light adding colors to the young and boring night. I also love how serene the air feels once it touched your skin, how it slaps your cheeks and how cold yet warm it sends your heart.

"Great. Walking is romantic too, right?" He asked cheekily. I shook my head once more and laughed at him.

"Yeah, if you say so." And it's true. Walking with someone you like is romantic to be honest, but I don't like Tristan like that like

kind of thing. So, I will just keep my mouth shut and tag along with his jokes.

"And here we are!" He said excitedly. My smile brightened and widened when I realized where he had brought me.

"Wow. You sure knows where to bring me." I said to him. I can't believe he brought me to the boulevard where many food trucks are on a stop.

I'm so overwhelmed with the trucks before my eyes and I can't help but to run to one of the trucks with a lot of people falling in line. They are selling hamburgers and it really smells great.

"I want one!" I said looking back at Tristan who's smiling at me. He nodded his head. He walked towards me, stayed behind me and ordered for the two of us.

"Two large hamburgers with two large fries and two cans of coke please!" And my stomach growled.

It's not my first time here but its been a long time since I came here so it feels nice to finally be able to come back and eat this greasy delight at a such depressing time.

"Just tell me if you want more, we can order the whole truck if you want." Tristan said as we took our seats in front of the truck.

"Don't you dare me, Tristan, because I can honestly eat for ten people at once." He laughed and I did too.

"Well, I'd love to see you get fat."

"Fortunately, I don't gain much weight when I eat, unlike you." I said looking at his stomach as if he was fat but hell he's well built and we both know that.

"Yeah, if you say so." He said copying my line. And we both happily waited for our orders until a certain someone showed up.

"Carmela." My body tensed and my heart started to pound like crazy.

Slowly, I turned my head and saw Mr. Steele glaring at Tristan, then his eyes found mine. I felt goosebumps at how  dangerously he looked at me.

"Let's go." I was unable to comprehend what he said. Did he say let's go?

"I said let's go." He said each word with emphasis while looking straight into my eyes. I didn't like how mad he appears to be and as weird as it sounds, I kind of feel like I am responsible for his ugly mood right now but why do I have to go with him when I am having dinner with Tristan?

So instead of getting up like he ordered, I asked him, "Mr. Steele, why are you here?" His nostrils flared at my response.

"No more questions, now let's go!" He half-yelled making other people look at us. I heard Tristan laugh arrogantly and I wanted to punch him for that. I gave him a look and he just winked at me then the next thing that happened? I swear, I wasn't able to catch it with my eyes.

"Tristan!" I shouted as I hurriedly dropped to my knees, on the ground, where he fell with a loud thud.

Why is he on the ground you ask? Well, Mr. Steele punched him and I don't know why he did that but Tristan's nose is bleeding right now.

"Don't you dare provoke me!" He said to Tristan. Instead of taking his words seriously, Tristan just laughed, spitting out the blood from his mouth.

"You're bleeding." I took my handkerchief out from my pocket and put it on top of his nose and he held my hand. My eyes immediately found Cyrus' and I swear his eye color changed for the nth time today.

I snatched my hand away from Tristan's because my gut feel told me that it's for the best.

"Mr. Steele, I don't know why you punched Tristan but..." I was back to my feet when he pulled me up and started dragging me.

"Hey! What... Are you doing?" I am running out of breath because I felt like jogging, really. His hand tightened around my wrist and I can feel my skin burning.

"Mr. Steele."

"Mr. Steele."

"Hey!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as I snatched my hand from his grasp. We are somewhere hidden, where no people who can see us. He stopped walking the same time I did. My breathing is uneven and heavy and I could hear his deep breaths too.

He is still back facing me though, his hands came in contact with his ruffled hair and in one swift movement, he punched the wall that's in front of him. My eyes grew big as the walls started to form cracks and I just saw blood dripping down from his fist.

"Oh my goodness. You're bleeding. Why did you do it, Mr. Steele? What were you thinking?"

"Shut up!"

"What?"

"I said stop talking! I don't need to hear you rant! I don't want to hear voice! Just, shut it, will you?"

He said those words as he angrily turned to look at me. My face fell down. I could feel my eyes starting to water and I hate how a crybaby I can get when someone's shouting at me.

For about a minute, none of us said a word. I backed away from him but he pulled me close to him. His hands slipped down to my waist. He held me like he's scared of losing me and the sparks came back.

My eyes found his but his eyes held so much emotions, so much for me to recognize. He closed his eyes and I did the same. Suddenly, I just felt his forehead on top of mine. Silence dragged on for quite a while before my dirty big mouth decided to cut it.

"Are you jealous?" The words slip out of my mouth before I could even process the words. He tensed. His grip on me tightened and then it loosened.

I opened my eyes to see him shaking his head, looking at me like he's looking at a monster. I felt hurt and my heart broke when he said the words I couldn't understand but made my heart cry in pain.

"Jealous? You're just overthinking. I will never feel that way. I will never feel jealous especially when it comes to you. I don't care about who you are with or what you and  Tristan were doing." He said each word that unexpectedly stabbed my heart a thousand times. With a straight look he said.

"Get the hell out of my sight! I am a powerful Alpha and I don't need you, a human, to be the cause of my pack's downfall."

And I did. I just found myself running away from him, from the man who broke and crashed my heart for the very first time.
