I watched him seemingly waltz out of my life through the same exact door he had walked into it. I mean, his brother said they’d be right right back, but here I was standing there at a loss for words. Did I just discover and lose my mate in a matter of two minutes?

What did I do wrong? Did he have a lover back home? Was he already mated to another she wolf?

I hadn’t heard that he had a chosen mate back at Blood Moon, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t possible.
