Signe POV

I was shaking a little, but trying not to show it. As much as I wanted to have this talk, I also didn't want to have this talk at the same time.

"All right, do we want to step outside?" I asked Asher.

"Signe, the rest of us will vacate the room and leave you two to talk." Alpha Lance said. He then turned to Alex. "Would you care to join us downstairs for lunch? Talk of war has made me completely famished."

Alex nodded to Alpha Lance, squeezed Asher on the shoulder and followed behind the rest of my pack members that were in this room on their way out.

Lena looked back at me as she was about to exit through the door. With a sad look on her face she mouthed good luck to me and disappeared around the corner.

I took a deep breath and turned to Asher. He wasn't even looking at me. Rather, he was looking at his hands as if he had unexpectedly found something interesting there that he had never seen before.
