Chapter 42

Signe POV

It's been two weeks since the battle and we haven't heard anything from Alpha Ian or Midnight since. Makes me nervous about what's in store for us with all of this silence from the enemy.

'It's the calm before the storm, Signe.' Aerona chimes in.

'I can't agree more.' Aerona returned to me a couple of days ago and I was so happy I couldn't stop the tears of joy from pouring down my face when I heard her voice and felt her presence. Not that I had really even wanted to.

'Oh you shush about that. You couldn't get rid of me that easily and you know it.'

I smile at her response, because I know she's right. She is strong, which makes both of us strong.

We have been pouring over all of the information from my dad about when he and mom found me as a pup. I don't remember much about the parents I had been with before them, since I was so young, but I remembered bits and pieces.
