I wonder how much we will learn about Alpha Ian on this car ride. Is he really as psychotic as everybody else makes him out to be? Or is there something else going on?
Signe POV I slammed my hand onto my face and ran it down the front. I just left and I already screwed up my first order of business. I looked to the driver to try and see who it was. Gabe. He was a decent warrior, but not a top ranking warrior by any means. He was built like a brick shit house and therefore most who came across him found him intimidating, but if anybody actually stood up to him they'd realize that he was a slow fighter and he leaves himself open and vulnreable more often than not to attacks. "Hey Gabe!" I hollered. Probably a little louder than necessary being as we have super hearing with our wolves. "Whatcha need boss?" He looked at me in the rear view mirror. "Uhhhhh..." well, that was weird. I've never been called boss before. "Can we pull over? I forgot a bag in the back hatch that I need to bring up front with me so that I can do some reading on our journey." "You mean the bag over there to your right?" He took his hand off of the wheel and gestur
Signe POV I just stared out to the border gate where Asher had warriors posted. They stood poised and ready to attack. Good, they should be ready no matter what. I was glad to see them on to defensive. “Gentlemen, my name is Gabe. I am a warrior from Crescent Moon and my passenger is Gamma Signe of the Crescent Moon pack. We have another car behind us carrying an additional three warriors and another two vehicles ahead of us that you should have already met with carrying three men in one car and four in another.” Gabe finished his short speech that I am sure he rehearsed in his head for the entire duration of our drive. Gamma Signe? That’s not my title quite yet there Gabe. I continued to watch the warriors in front of me. From what I could see they had two manning the border entry. No gate or walls to be seen that can actually keep an attack at bay. Did they have more warriors spread out along the border? After all, we are wolves and are very likely to not stick to the road if
Asher POVI heard the second round of cars pull up and I could feel it in my gut that she had arrived. I shifted my focus from my Gamma to the window where I could see the hood of one of the cars. I didn't know which car of the two I heard pull up she was in, but I knew for sure that she was here. "Alpha?" Gamma Josh said."Yes, sorry, Josh. The last of our visitors have just arrived and I am afraid I missed the last part of what you just said." I said turning my head back to him."Would you like to go and greet the last of our guests, Asher?" Alex asked me."Actually," I said now looking to Alex. "I think you should be their welcoming party. Josh and I need to wrap up this conversation before it gets too late.""But don't you think you should greet your ma-""I think you are more than capable of greeting our guests, Alex. Now stop pushing me and do as you're told before I make you do it." I growled and glared at my brother for almost revealing that my mate had arrived. I had no inte
Signe POVI stay out on the landing and turn once again to the paintings when Asher departed. It was obvious to me that he didn't care to stick around and chat. Or maybe he was tired from all of the goings on of the day.I can still smell him, his scent lingering even minutes after he had left. I continue to walk down the hall, studying the different names and people in the paintings. It was intriguing to me to look at the previous rulers and families of this pack. I can see the resemblance between Asher and his family. I pause when I hear footsteps coming up the stairs behind me. I was already surprised by Asher and I did not want to be surprised again by someone else. I turn and look behind me to find a beautiful woman standing at the top of the stairs staring at me quizzically. She looks familiar and I glance quickly back to the painting I had just approached a few moments ago.She was the woman in this painting. I quickly glance down at the names until I find her. She's older now
Signe POVI heard a knock on my door. Soft, yet urgent.I got up from the comfort of my bed and something fell off of the bed. I look down to see my file folder last night. Whoops. I must have fallen asleep while I was researching. I bend over and pick up the folder and place it on the nightstand then pad over to the front door."Who is it?" I ask sleepily. If I had to guess, I'd say it can't be later than four in the morning."Open the door, Signe." I heard him say. That's when I realized I could smell him and his forest scent.Asher. Asher was on the other side of my door at this ungodly hour. I quickly looked down at my pajamas. Not my worst set, but definitely nothing all that sexy either. Thank goddess I had put my hair into braids. I turn the handle and open the door slowly to reveal Asher. He steps inside and pushes past me without a word and I close the door behind him. "Is there something I can help you with Alpha Asher?"He looks me dead in my eyes and I can't peel my own
I turn over and grab my phone and hit snooze on my alarm. Had that whole thing just been a dream?'Yes it was and it was a spicy one. I'm not complaining.' Aerona said saucily.'It felt so real. I swear I can still feel his touch.' I touch my lips where I could still feel the lingering sensation of his lips pressing against my so passionately and dominately.I wish it had been real and not only a dream. I hadn't realized how badly I wanted my mate until this moment. I kept trying to convince myself that I would be okay with him deciding he didn't want me. Now I knew I had to do whatever was necessary to have him accept me and complete our mating.'Atta girl! She's baaaaack!' Aerona says in a sing-song voice.I can't help but laugh at her. She was right though. My confidence in myself had gone severely downhill since meeting Asher and it was time for all of that to stop. I needed to show him the she-wolf I truly am. I lay there thinking about the dream and unable to get over how very
Asher POVI walk into the room and my eyes instantly find her. She is beautiful, there's no doubt about that. I can't seem to keep myself from looking for her every time I step into a room. I watch her as her eyes scan my body appreciatively which makes Thor hum with delight.'Do you see the way her eyes are admiring us?' He asks me hungrily.'I do, but we have more important matters to take care of, Thor.'I walk into the dining room and over to the food table and begin dishing myself my breakfast. I make myself a hearty breakfast burrito. After my morning of training I am hungry and I don't plan on joining the fighting this morning during training. I want to stand and assess the fights, making my own notes of her and her warriors.I glance over at Signe and her warriors still sitting at the table clueless as to what is going on this morning after breakfast is over. I grab a large glass of orange juice and head to my usual table where my brother and mother are already sitting."Good
Signe POVAfter Asher left I got up and went over to get food. He wasn't wrong, I needed to eat. It was the fact that he had whispered in my ear the way he did that has me completely thrown off. After I finish eating I get up to leave the dining room and each of my warriors stands with me. I head over to where Alex is sitting alone at a table."Good morning again, Alex." I say with a smile."How can I be of service, Signe?" Alex replies and takes a swig of his orange juice."I was hoping you wouldn't mind showing us where the training grounds are. I don't want to be late and I'd like to stretch and limber up before our...training begins."Alex smirks at me and just shakes his head. "I don't mind at all." Alex gets up from his seat and comes to stand next to me. "You ready to go Siggy baby?"It was cute when he called me that earlier this morning, but to call me that in front of my warriors felt a bit degrading."I'm sorry Beta Alex. I think I missed that last part." I challenge him a
