Chapter Nineteen

The café was almost empty, save for a few occupied tables. I bent over, humming a familiar tune as I wiped a table. The sound of the bell rang out faintly in my mind, announcing the entrance of someone. I straightened, turning as soon as the customer's chair scraped across the floor, I looked up from where I stood and locked eyes with Stephen.

He was sitting, facing me with a wide grin etched on his face. His hair seemed slightly disheveled but for some weird reasons, I found that adorable. Stephen got to his feet, placing a pair of dark shades on the table.

“You’re on time.” I greeted, walking into his open arms as I soaked in the warmth of his embrace.

He stole a glance at the leather piece strapped to his wrist, “Actually, I’m seven minutes early.” His lips brushed against my hair as he spoke and I smiled.
