Chapter 5

Tonight for dinner they were having lasagna again. Allison hated lasagna not only did they have it at least once a week since she could remember but also because it was her dad's favorite meal and she missed him so much more every time they ate it.

Erika had stopped making homemade lasagna after James passed away. It was much easier for her to just buy a box that she could throw in the oven.

After dinner Allison asked to be excused so she could get some homework done and shower. Her mother agreed to let her and she was surprised that it didn't turn into an argument.

The next morning Erika seemed to be in a really good mood and offered to take Allison to school.

Erika told Allison she would need to find her own way home from school because she had a date and wouldn't be back until the morning.

Erika warned Allison that Jamenson and Mrs. Bowen better not be the ones to bring her home.

Allison thought about correcting her mother on Jensen and Mrs. Brown's names but thought she'd better not because it would just cause her more trouble than it was worth.

Once at school the counselor called Allison into the office to talk to her.

Mrs. Brown and Jensen had already filled her in on the details of what happened the evening before. Mrs. Larson (the school counselor) was a very sweet older lady.

She offered to give Allison a ride home any time she was in need.

After a few moments of talking with Mrs. Larson, Allison returned to her new group of friends.

She finally got to meet Brittany and she knew instantly that they were going to be best friends.

Brittany was also very shy. She had short Blonde hair and green eyes. She was absolutely gorgeous and had an amazing personality as well.

Brittany liked Allison and even though they had just me she invited her over to her house to stay the night for the upcoming weekend.

During lunch Brittany and Allison planned to go to the ski resort together and it would get Allison away from her mother for a while.

Allison sent her mother a text requesting permission and her mother sent a thumbs up back.

Allison and Brittany were the same size in clothing so Allison could just borrow some of Brittany's clothes and wouldn't need to go home after school.

The rest of the school day went by extremely slow for the girls. They couldn't wait to hang out after school.

Erika went to eat lunch with her boyfriend Kieth. He was a cop in the next city over. Erika liked dating cops because she thought it would help her stay out of trouble. Officer Kieth was nice and Erika was actually enjoying getting to know him.

After Lunch Allison had Biology with Mr. Lane. He was very friendly and enjoyed calling on Allison during class because usually she was one of the only ones paying attention.

After school Brittany's mom Loral picked up the girls and took them to dinner.

Jensen and his family were at the same restaurant so Brittany, Jensen and Allison asked if they could sit together.

Loral and Nora (Jensen's mom) agreed to let the kids sit together during dinner. Allison wasn't so shy around Jensen with Brittany there.

Nora and Loral sat together and Nora filled Loral in on what had happened at Allison's house the night before.

During dinner the kids talked about school, teachers, sports and their plans for the weekend.

Jensen was already starting to have fillings for Allison and he had only known her for two days.

Jensen had only ever had true feelings for one other girl before. He never felt like he had a connection with the other girls he had dated except one.

Nora really liked Allison as well, there was just something about her and she hoped that maybe Allison could make Jensen happy after his last serious relationship ended badly.
