Her mom wanted them to move from Texas to Florida but her dad had just started getting good treatment at a hospital in Dallas.James (Allison's dad) didn't want to leave Texas just yet. He was finally getting the treatment he needed for his Cancer and was actually starting to feel better for once.Allison's parents fought for a week before James eventually gave up and let Erika have her way.He knew that it would hurt Allison if he let her mother take her to Florida while he stayed in Texas for his treatments.James didn't have any rights over Allison because when she was born he was in jail for a minor drug problem.He had gotten treatment at a facility for 3 years and Erika had convinced the judge at the time that James was too unstable to have rights to a child.James had been battling cancer for the past 8 years and just never got around to taking Erika to court again.It had only been 5 months after moving to Florida that Allison's dad passed away.Allison was 11 about to turn 12 when she lost her dad.Shortly after her mom started dating. luckily she never brought any of the men home but Allison was still upset about it. She felt like her mom never cared about her dad.How could her mom move them so far away from where her dad was actually getting good treatment?Allison soon found out why. Her mother had given birth to another baby shortly after Allison.His name was Dillon and he lived with his adoptive parents in Florida. Erika had given him away because she cheated on James while he was away at rehab.She thought that James could get custody of Allison and possibly even Dillon too leaving with her nothing if he found out.Dillon was 9 and didn't want to meet Erika. He did meet with Allison for an hour though and at the end of the meeting they exchanged phone numbers so they could keep in contact with each other.After Erika found out that Allison and Dillon were texting and calling each other she moved her and Allison to California so that they couldn't set up play dates and get to know each other in person more.They weren't in California long because the guy Erika started dating wanted to move to Oklahoma.Allison didn't want to move in with her mother's boyfriend. Mostly because his older daughter Jamie was mean to Allison and she had cut her hair while she was asleep one night.Allison's hair took a painfully long time to grow. it had taken her 6 years just to get it halfway down her back.Benjamin (Erika's Boyfriend) was very manipulative and almost always got his way with Erika.After a year in Oklahoma he convinced Erika to send Allison to her grandparents house in Germany.On the way to the airport they had gotten in a crash and Benjamin passed away a week later at the hospital.Jamie was sent to live with her mother in New York and Erika and Allison moved to Colorado.Allison homeschooled until about halfway through her freshman year of highschool.She finally had just convinced her mother to let her go to public school and now after today she didn't know if her mother would even let her continue going.Allison was pulled from her thoughts when her mom called her down for dinner.Related chapters

Tonight for dinner they were having lasagna again. Allison hated lasagna not only did they have it at least once a week since she could remember but also because it was her dad's favorite meal and she missed him so much more every time they ate it. Erika had stopped making homemade lasagna after James passed away. It was much easier for her to just buy a box that she could throw in the oven. After dinner Allison asked to be excused so she could get some homework done and shower. Her mother agreed to let her and she was surprised that it didn't turn into an argument. The next morning Erika seemed to be in a really good mood and offered to take Allison to school. Erika told Allison she would need to find her own way home from school because she had a date and wouldn't be back until the morning. After Dinner once the girls were at Brittany's house they continued to bond over common interests. Both the girls had lost their fathers but Brittany's father, Robert was actually shot while he was at work. Someone mistook him for someone else and shot him. Once they realized they had the wrong person they called 911, made an anonymous report and ran off. Unfortunately Robert was already gone by the time anyone got to him. Brittany's mother Loral was very kind. She told Allison to make herself feel at home and that she was welcome over any time. Loral was a Nurse at the local hospital and worked Nights so as soon as she got the girls and Brittan's brother Jase settled with snacks and a movie she headed off to work. The girls stayed up talking and sharing memories until 1am. The next day as they were getting ready to go to the ski resort Allison got an angry text from her mom telling her she wanted her home within 30 minutes. Once everyone arrived at Jensen's house they all went downstairs into the finished basement to play pool and watch movies. Allison was starting to feel sick after being in the cold so long so Jensen offered to take her home or let her lay down and rest in their guest bedroom. Allison opted to lay down for a little while with plans to join the others later. She wasn't ready to go home and face her mother. Jensen was periodically checking in on her quietly so he didn't disturb her. He plugged her phone into the charger so she could use it when she woke up. Allison walked into her mom's house. Erika and Officer Kieth were sitting at the kitchen table with pictures of Allison on the table. Her mom had clearly been crying. Allison asked what was going on and Officer Kieth stood up and started heavily walking towards her. Officer Kieth spoke loudly and it startled Allison at first. "Where have you been? your mother has been worried sick about you! She called me over last night and we were just getting ready to leave and go to the station to file a missing persons report. you have a lot of explaining to do to your mother young lady. it was irresponsible turning off your phone and ignoring her the way you did." The ride home was long and seemed to drag by. The restaurant they went to was 2 hours away but the view was worth it. Allison started drifting off to sleep in the back seat. She had a Dream about Jensen. He was dating a very pretty girl. She had strawberry blonde hair and dark brown eyes. They seemed to be arguing about something but Allison didn't know what. she remember Jensen calling out the girls name, Hailey. It had been two full months since her Mother had left to go to Main. Allison had no idea what the real reason was. She assumed it was to get away from the current situation with Kieth and Fostering. occasionally she would get a text from her mom asking how Bentley and Kieth were, she never asked how Allison was. Allison always tried to keep her texts with her mom short and simple. Most of the time she just said they were fine and Bentley was growing fast and other times she said Kieth misses her and she would ask when her mother was coming home. Jensen wasn't happy about not being able to find out what was wrong with Allison and be comforting to her but they listened to the police and got in their car to wait for an explanation. Once the police Entered the Grey's home they noticed that there were no adults there to greet them and it appeared there hadn't been any adults in the home for several weeks. They questioned Allison and they were disappointed when they learned their friend Officer Kieth left two underage children home alone one being a teenager left to take care of a baby. The police called DFPS to come take the baby. technically Allison was old enough to stay home by herself so they couldn't take her without her permission as well and since the bills were being paid and a card was left behind to get food and necessities Allison wasn't abandoned and left with nothing.
