Chapter 4

Allison remembered back when her dad was still alive.

Her mom wanted them to move from Texas to Florida but her dad had just started getting good treatment at a hospital in Dallas.

James (Allison's dad) didn't want to leave Texas just yet. He was finally getting the treatment he needed for his Cancer and was actually starting to feel better for once.

Allison's parents fought for a week before James eventually gave up and let Erika have her way.

He knew that it would hurt Allison if he let her mother take her to Florida while he stayed in Texas for his treatments.

James didn't have any rights over Allison because when she was born he was in jail for a minor drug problem.

He had gotten treatment at a facility for 3 years and Erika had convinced the judge at the time that James was too unstable to have rights to a child.

James had been battling cancer for the past 8 years and just never got around to taking Erika to court again.

It had only been 5 months after moving to Florida that Allison's dad passed away.

Allison was 11 about to turn 12 when she lost her dad.

Shortly after her mom started dating. luckily she never brought any of the men home but Allison was still upset about it. She felt like her mom never cared about her dad.

How could her mom move them so far away from where her dad was actually getting good treatment?

Allison soon found out why. Her mother had given birth to another baby shortly after Allison.

His name was Dillon and he lived with his adoptive parents in Florida. Erika had given him away because she cheated on James while he was away at rehab.

She thought that James could get custody of Allison and possibly even Dillon too leaving with her nothing if he found out.

Dillon was 9 and didn't want to meet Erika. He did meet with Allison for an hour though and at the end of the meeting they exchanged phone numbers so they could keep in contact with each other.

After Erika found out that Allison and Dillon were texting and calling each other she moved her and Allison to California so that they couldn't set up play dates and get to know each other in person more.

They weren't in California long because the guy Erika started dating wanted to move to Oklahoma.

Allison didn't want to move in with her mother's boyfriend. Mostly because his older daughter Jamie was mean to Allison and she had cut her hair while she was asleep one night.

Allison's hair took a painfully long time to grow. it had taken her 6 years just to get it halfway down her back.

Benjamin (Erika's Boyfriend) was very manipulative and almost always got his way with Erika.

After a year in Oklahoma he convinced Erika to send Allison to her grandparents house in Germany.

On the way to the airport they had gotten in a crash and Benjamin passed away a week later at the hospital.

Jamie was sent to live with her mother in New York and Erika and Allison moved to Colorado.

Allison homeschooled until about halfway through her freshman year of highschool.

She finally had just convinced her mother to let her go to public school and now after today she didn't know if her mother would even let her continue going.

Allison was pulled from her thoughts when her mom called her down for dinner.
