CHAPTER XXV

I woke up in a white room. Mama and dad are looking at me worriedly.

“I’ll call the doctor.” Daddy said.

He came back with a doctor.

“Mr. and Mrs. De Catalina. Wala naman pong mali sa anak niyo.”

“What happened to her?”

“Too much stress sent her to unconsciousness. Wala naman pong damages. The baby is okay and healthy.”

“B-Baby?”

“Yes, Ms. De Catalina. The baby in your womb is safe. I’ll be in my office for any inquiries.”

He left the room.

“Mama, daddy, sorry.” I was crying. Mama hugged me.

“Shhh, makakasama ‘yan sa baby.”

I stopped crying after a few moments.

Dad was livid.

“Is Kade the father?”

I nodded.

Kade and I did have a premarital sex just right after he proposed. I gave it to him because I thought that he was the one I’ll be marrying and boy, I was wrong.

“You will quit modelling, Isla.”

“Yes, daddy.”

“Anong plano mo? Would you tell him about the baby?” Mama questioned.

“No. What Kade knows would not hurt him, mama.”

She sighed.

“Will you tell the public about your pregnancy?”

“We will end the reality show. I don’t want the media to feast on her life again.” Dad complained.

“I’ll text the director about this.” Mama added.

After I was discharged from the hospital, the paparazzi’s weren’t around anymore.

My pregnancy explains the cravings and mood changes.

Dad was furious about learning Kade’s marriage.

“Binuntis ka ng g*g* tapos magpapakasal sa iba?!”

Mama was trying to calm himself down. Wala ring alam si Aidan sa pagbubuntis ko but he keeps on texting me about Kade’s marriage.

No one in our family expected this. Even my relatives are asking how am I.

I kept the ring secluded in somewhere I cannot see. That ring reminds me of his broken promises.

‘Keeping Up with Stars director announces their last ten episodes. The director stated that the show would end because of some health concerns of the stars starring the show. It was never mentioned who among the stars is it but model, Aidan de Catalina would be out of the list. The model is currently in Milan for the preparation of the fashion week. His sister supermodel and actress, Isla declined the invite to attend the show according to a close source who told G News!’

Mama closed the T.V.

“You can’t see those things. Baka ma-stress ka lang.”

My parents were extra protective of me, now that I am pregnant.

Masaya sila na magkaka-apo na sila.

“A baby is a blessing. Masaya kami na magkaka-apo na kami but we don’t want him or her to grow up without a father figure.”

“We’ll be with you always and forever, anak.”

Honestly, my journal is now full of hatred things I released instead of stressing over Kade. I write them to let off some stream.

“Mama, may avocado cake pa?”

“Nasa fridge, sweetie.”

“Thanks!”

I went to the fridge and got two slices of avocado cake and a bottle of chocolate drink. It’s already lunch time and once lang ako nakaka-inom ng chocolate drink in five days.

“We can spoil you with avocado cake but not with the cold chocolate drink. Once in five days ka lang iinom. Understand?”

“Opo, mama.”

I opened the television to watch a new episode of my favorite Netflix show.

Aidan is still not yet home pero malapit na. He is almost done.

Uuwi na nga sana siya upon learning about Kade and my marriage pero I stopped him kasi not professional ito.

“Ate, I need to be there and kick his ass.”

“Tapusin mo na ‘yan. You won’t see him here. Baka nasa honeymoon ‘yon nila. Saan nga ba ‘yon?”

“Ate,”

“What? I’m just saying the truth.” Then laughed.

Pikon na nga ‘yon sa akin. It still hurts remembering how he betrayed me but as much as possible, I want to keep myself away from stress.

I want my baby to be healthy. Medyo may umbok na pala ang tiyan ko and I wasn’t able to see it because of akala ko fats lang siya kasi nga marami na ako kung kumain.

The last season of our reality show is now shown. Many fans are quite sad but they respect everything that we decided.

Daddy settled everything to cut my connection to showbiz. He paid the damages and casualties. I am not tied with any management or company. Yung mga staff ko from my modelling days, I gave them a job on my new business.

Under production na ang mga products and we will be releasing some in six months. May mga planned days na for photoshoot, commercial shoot and soft opening.

Tinutulungan ako ni daddy. May mga relatives akong bumibisita dito. Keesha can’t go here kasi may tinatapos lang din siya for fashion week before marrying Louis. Yes, engaged na sila. Louis proposed him when they went to Mexico for a vacation. She sent me some photos. Private lang siya noong una but when people started putting hate on Keesh, napilitan sila na sabihin ang true status nila.

Sabi nga ni Keesha, Louis wasn’t happy about those people shading her and making fun and calling her names. Their fans actually welcomed the news warmly.

She was worried about me when she knew about Kade’s marriage to Coleen but I told her I’m fine and kept my pregnancy news to myself. Not that I don’t trust her but because daddy wanted me to do so.

Some people slipped into my DM to ask me how I am. They would often open about Kade kaya I deactivate my account.

I just can’t stand them talking about him. I’m trying to be okay for my baby pero kapag paulit-ulit nilang io-open sa akin ang topic na gusto kong takas an, I don’t think I can handle it anymore.

I myself didn’t this thing coming. All I know was he is making everything okay before we break out our relationship to the public but heck, I shouldn’t have trust him.

Once is enough and twice is too much. Sobra na akong sira and I’m sure it will take time to gather my broken, puzzled pieces again.
