QUEEN'S POV
“Yes! He is indeed handsome.” I said trying my best not to show any hint that can connect to my real identity.
“Of course, he is a Prince!” her tone became different from her usual voice. “But he’s impossible…” she reluctantly added.
“He is impossible, what?” I asked Liza. I neither understood nor heard the reply clearly. I thought she was overthinking things so I told her “My dear, what’s wrong if he is indeed a Prince? Can’t a girl like him?”
“He is out of reach and out my league Grandma, like, you know... A Prince and a commoner, fairytale or Cinderella... In real life, it doesn't exist.”
“How did you say so? He may be born royal but he is also a man. And a grown-up man needs a woman. Oh! If that woman is you, isn’t he lucky? You are a beautiful, smart, kind, and passionate young lady. Any guy would fall for you easily.”
“Are you joking Granny? Seriously, even if he approaches me right now and is like 'I like you Lizzie' I'd better say no because no way in this world would allow such a thing to happen. But you know what Grandma, thank you so much for hyping my dream, it helps a lot...”
“And who in the world do you think will not allow that to happen? You haven’t even met each other yet you're giving up already? Dear, try not to overthink everything. It will ruin the moment you are about to experience.”
Liza is a naïve one. She can’t hide her true self either. Well, Prince Hades, as far as I know, he has the habit of ignoring girls who push themselves on him, but as his grandmother, I can say he is not really that cold. I could not figure out either why he does not want to settle down yet already.
If I could only tell Liza my real identity and that I could easily pair them up, I would have done it already but it will spoil my plan. I am away from the palace so there should be no royal event to be happened not until the Queen has been declared dead. My plan is still possible. I will never tell her my real identity, yet, especially not now that they knew the queen is missing with the whole world looking for me. My reasons are simple. I just want to experience a normal life, away from the crown and the responsibilities attached to it.
I woke up in the middle of the night running after my heavy breathing, I checked the time and it is still past one o’clock in the morning. I trembled in fear, my body sweated a lot. I just had a nightmare. Not really a nightmare but it was a memory from my past, the night when the accident took place. I do not actually remember everything clearly, as of now; I have been trying my best to regain some memories of that particular time. I may not have amnesia or totally lost my memories but the incident is as blurred as muddy water.
Kenny, my dearest pet, a cat whom I treasured the most was a gift from my late husband Prince Albert for our fifty-first wedding anniversary. He passed away a few days after our celebration leaving me alone and widowed. Kenny was there all by my side throughout my mourning period making me feel better. He became so precious to me that I took care of him personally.
I was carrying my cat happily in the Palace garden. While feeding him, the imperial secretary Mr. Yeshy Whillis came to see me. We talked about the usual matter that needs to be discussed with me. I needed to give permissions, orders, opinions, and likings that I become so engrossed in our conversation that I forgot Sunny. When I look at his spot, he was not there anymore. I could not see him anywhere in the garden so I hurriedly dismissed Mr. Whillis and ordered everyone to find my pet.
I was walking back and forth waiting for news from my people. It was already an hour passed by, and still no news from them. I was so impatient at the time so I initiated to go over the searching people to take a look. Ignoring all the servant's worried looks, I went to a place that anyone has not been to before, I am not even familiar with the place. I walked carefully until I reached a part of the garden with tall trees. I hesitated to go in further. I was about to turn back, and stepped into a stone, small enough not to be seen, I did not expect it to roll over the landscape. I was out of balance and fell into the ground creating a big thug sound. My back was in excruciating pain and no one is there to help this old woman. I tried standing up as I arched myself but as soon as I moved my body, the slippery rocks unexpectedly rolled down the mountain. It was late when I realize I’m on the edge of a cliff. I cried for help but no one came. I can only hear the echo my voice has made.
"Is there anyone there? Come here and save me..."
Thankfully I was able to hold a branch of a tree before I totally fell as my life depends on it. I repeatedly cried for help until a figure of a woman in her mid-fifties age showed up. I smiled in relief thinking someone could definitely get me out of there.
"Oh goodness. Thank you for coming just in time. Come here help me…" I am the Queen and I am so used to commanding everyone though I never behave meanly towards my servants and other people below my rank. What’s there to be bad anyway?
"I want to help you but I’m afraid I can’t Your Majesty" She answered with a proud face
"Why not? I will not drag you down..." I said confused as I lift my hand trying to reach her but she simply pulled herself two steps behind instead.
This ungrateful vixen shooed my hand away. She then sat, bending herself on one knee leaning a little saying,
"Yes of course! You will not drag me down and you can never drag me down! Your time has come. Now go to heaven or to hell, I don’t care! Die! You old woman! The palace and the country don’t need you anymore! Your, Majesty?"
The audacity indeed!
"You!!!… How dare you se- ahh!!!!!!!!!!" before I could even finish my sentence, she stood up glancing at my almost drenched self, walking carefully to the tree branch I was desperately holding my life with. She grabbed a part of it and shakes off as it made me loosen my grip on the branch and fall over. I used all my strength and will to hang on but I was not able to stick at all.
I fell on the cliff scared, and in no time everything went blank.
LIZA'S POV I was drinking water when all of a sudden I heard a loud scream from Grandma’s room; it was my former bedroom that I made her use for the time being months ago. I walked at a fast pace taking big steps one by one. I was about to approach the door when my attention was caught by sobs roaring out of the walls. Once I was inside, I can see she was having a hard time. She was awake already when I arrived but she was also in a gloomy state, tears wheeled down her eyes continuously, and she was crying helplessly. I went to sit beside her angling myself and hugged the old lady sympathetically. She moved as well to hug me back making me feel like butterflies are flying around my stomach. I have never felt like this before. It was a warm feeling, so nice you never want to make it stop. Somehow this feeling reminds me of my parents. Granny leaned her head on the crook of my neck trying to be calm while wiping her cheeks. “Thank you for coming here, my dear! You came just in time” sh
HADES POV Exactly sixty days since the Queen has gone missing. The palace intensified the search and retrieval operation, though we have never closed the possibility that the queen is still alive, the royal family, the palace, as well as the government never assumed her majesty is dead either. The royal secretary called everyone this morning and gathered all my family members including the Prime Minister and the executives informing us that the queen was found. We are about to arrive in a small villa they have located according to the investigation conducted so many times. The authorities involved in finding the Queen told us that she is indeed my grandmother. They have shown us photos, surveillance videos, and all other legit proof and in an instant, everyone acted as soon as we heard the news. I am now sitting beside my uncle, Prince Chevy inside the car. We are at the back following the mobile my brother, Prince took together with the royal secretary. Royal guards are leading us
LIZA POV I was on my way back from the market; I bought us enough goods to be consumed for the next weeks. Grandma says she wants to eat meat for dinner so I specifically look for a slice of goat meat, I was actually craving it for the past few days but I didn’t have the chance to go to the market so I took the best chance just now. I also went to the same bookstore I visited last time, it was a little crowded today and I heard the same rumor the people were tackling about. It was the rumor about the lost Queen. They said that the noblewoman has been around the villa all this time but no one can say where she is situated exactly. There was this trail of extravagant cars, at least ten vehicles following after each other leaving from inside our small villa. At first, I was awed by the classy design, it looked pretty expensive. I would never dare to even touch it if I can even come close to it Haha! Yeah... so as I was saying, the first car almost hit me! No matter how rich the people
NO ONE'S POV A trail of expensive cars was approaching the walled capital city of Slytherland. When the people saw the slow movement of the door of the giant gate opening even wider, they knew it was the Queen they are welcoming. Hundreds of thousands of Slytherlanders gathered at the main town to witness the grand parade of the Queen’s arrival. It was a series of luxury vehicles passing through the main road with blocks cheering people ready to witness the arrival of their Queen, speaking of - A very long-wheelbase luxury sedan car just showed up in within the middle part of the parade. It was gold coated with a touch of shining black limousine that took the attention of the crowd. The speculation rises, believing that the said mobile carries the Queen. Soon, the car stopped. The rumors were gone in a split second. They were right, it is where her majesty was riding. Surprisingly, the Queen stepped down its track and finally showed herself in the public, facing the crowd of people
HADES POV It was like I am being screwed by a thunderbolt. I don’t know… "I’m sorry your majesty, I must be mishearing words just now. What did you just say?" was my answer clearly doubting the words I just heard. "I said I want you to marry the girl who took care of me when I was away." The Queen repeated her words, this time it was more firm, loud, and clear, enough for her grandson to hear. "And why would I do that?? I mean, where is this stupid idea coming from?" He asked annoyed. "Because that stupid idea was mine! And that either is an order from a Queen or a request from your grandmother! You can choose yourself. Anyways you can’t do anything about it, I decided that since long time ago. It’s final." "But grandma, no..." "I’m the Queen" "I know you’re the Queen, but you’re also my grandmother. You can’t be doing this to me! I have a life to live too!!!" "Marry her." "Please, your majesty... Set me free. Marrying someone I never met even once in my life is such a rude,
LIZA POV I’m a hopeless romantic, I always have been, and I am so used to the feeling. I always wonder about the things I’ve never experienced yet, like the day when I would meet the man in my dreams, my ideal guy, or that special someone. But this world is rude enough for me to wash away that thought. Not everyone is up to endless love. I at the same time, am not too lucky for things like that, well maybe? I had found love before. Well, that was a long time ago and I believe, the past is meant to be forgotten. It was with Ian. We had known each other since we were toddlers. Our parents would always want us to be together back then when we were just as good as babies. I spent most of my childhood days with him until we became friends. Best friends. One day, I was in our school and we finished an activity in our subject. I went to change my uniform at a place provided for girls only. When I opened my locker, surprisingly there was his tiny and cute black box dropped on the floor.
NO ONE'S POV It was a wonderful day for Liza and Ian to spend time together after years and years of misunderstanding. Their unfinished business from the gentleman’s confession before left a crack in their relationship as childhood best friends. The tension between them rose again when Liza tries to explain herself. Ian was still mad at the girl that he admired and pursued back then but was ignored right after. In the end, Liza left Ian in the middle of their discussion once again. It didn’t take long for him to follow the lady’s footsteps that almost disappeared from his sight. Liza noticed his immediate action of him from the corner of her eyes so she walked even faster. The girl was so mad; she does not have the energy and she doesn’t want to talk to Ian anymore. She could not hide her frustration as she looked back and forth in between the steps she made to the guy she just left behind, when an enormous car hit her by accident. In no less than a minute, Liza fell to the ground
LIZA POV “Aunt Liza!! Aunt Liza! Look there is a dead body I found here!” “What?” I looked at my nephew James and immediately went to where he was standing. I did not hear him loud and clear, and to my disbelief, I saw an old woman’s body lying alongside the river shore. She is unconscious and her skin has bruises on it, even her forehead was wounded and filled with blood as her clothes were torn just enough to cover some parts of her body. I wonder what had happened to her before to be in this state of being. “Auntie why is she here? Is she dead already?” James asked confused. “I don’t know either James... Wait, let me see” I said as kneeled down to her level and carefully lift her wrist to check her pulse. The old lady looked so weak with a pale face; there is no sign of life in her! “Oh! She isn’t dead yet James! Please help me, let’s take her home so we can treat her immediately!” I commanded my nephew as soon as I felt her weak pulse, I checked her breathing and it was almos

THE QUEEN'S POV “I am the Queen of Slytherland” I answered her directly. I looked at Liza who looks so surprised, her panic-stricken face can really tell that she was beyond shocked hearing what I have just said. She even dropped the towel she has been holding since when she got out of the kitchen doing her usual chores. “k… Quee… Queen of Slytherland???” The young girl replied. The dullness in her face eventually faded away, she suddenly burst out with laughter. James laughed along as well. Did they just make fun of me? Oh! Sounds like these kids do not believe me! An exciting idea flashed in my head. Starring at them like this, I couldn’t help myself but sigh and wonder if my plan would work well. I am the Queen of Slytherland. Reigning Monarch from the Bree Dynasty, no other than Queen Alexandra III – I was named Donny Alexandra Zachy upon birth. Right after my father, the late King Arthur Mcflurry Linkoln Zachy died, I was enthroned by my legal right as the oldest child, hei
