Chapter 7

*Kirthi Pov*

"What is this?" I asked, looking at the package Anusha placed in my hands.

"My gift for you and you have to wear it for today's date." She replied, smiling while I frowned at her words.

"Another date?" I asked, feeling like I am going to do some overtime.

"Nice reaction!" I heard the voice and turned to see him standing near the kitchen entrance, which I completely missed with her standing before me the moment I entered the house.

"There is no need to go to some hotel." I said, shrugging and he nodded before walking towards us.

"We are not going to some hotel. We are going to my flat." He said making both of us ask, "What?"

"Bhai!" she added in a warning tone.

"What? I am literally staying at her house for all these days like you accused and isn't it right for her to do the same with my flat? I don't want people to say I have double standards." He said shrugging while I smiled at his words and Anusha's glaring expression.

"No! Take her to a restaurant or have food here." She said folding her arms.

"It is her decision! Let's see if she wants to visit my flat or not." He said, folding his arms and they both stared at me.

"I finally have one." I whispered, making them frown.

"I finally have one who is trying to give terror to my dates." I explained making him scowl while she frowned but smiled at me understandingly.

"I will get ready." Saying that I started walking off ignoring the banter that started between the siblings, which involved warnings and accusations of mistrust and so much more.

"Nice!" I said, looking around while he just nodded before gesturing to the table where the food is already there.

"But I like your place more." He states when they both settled down.

"Even I like my place more." I said shrugging making him laugh.

"I asked Anusha about your favorites but she said she doesn't know. So, I got my favorites prepared." He explained serving me the first dish.

"I don't have favorites." I explained making him frown and ask the reason behind it.

"Because I have to feel bad if I can't eat my favorite food when I want to." I said to which he slowly nodded with confusion.

"Here! Today I present you with three desserts and you can eat all." He said after we finished preparing the dinner me smile.

"Okay!" I said, accepting his offer, but he moved them away before I can reach making me frown.

"While watching the movie." He placed the rule and stood up before moving towards the couch and I followed him before we both sat down.

"What is your dream, Kirthi?" he suddenly asked after some time to which I smiled.

"Get married and have a big family." I replied after which silence followed.

"Why?" he asked making me turn and stare at him.

"Because I want it." I replied, to which he slowly nodded and I asked, "What is yours?"

"To completely own my parent's company and in short words, coming out of their thumb." He replied while I continued to stare at him in confusion.

"You said we are the rich people and you are right, but that's all we are. My sister dared to step out of their perfect world and lost it. I don't have that dare, but I want to make it my own perfect world." He continued holding my hand.

"And you will be satisfied?" I asked and he nodded.

"It is my hard work and I can't throw it away." He said before tugging me closed to him and we both fell into silence watching the movie.

"I hate to drop you, but I have to if I don't want to die in my sister's hands." Saying that he stood up before forwarding his hand for me to hold.

"And I don't want to disturb her sleep." I said back making him frown.

"She packed my clothes for the stay and said she understands how two people in dating wishes like she did and said she will sleep early." I explained while he just stared at me.

"I don't want to hear about her dating days." He said with a frown making me chuckle at his expression.

"Okay! Let's disturb her sleep." I said, standing up, but before I can take a step he pushed me back onto the couch with his weight and pressed me to it.

"I don't want to though." He says while pressing kisses over my face, making me smile and I nodded accepting his words.

Later, when I was trying to sleep, he calmly whispered, "I was worried!"

"For what?" I asked back in a sleepy voice.

"That I would hurt you." He replied and I turned around to stare only to meet his eyes.

"I already told you I had a fiance and about sharing the bed." I explained and he nodded.

"What actually happened?" he asked with a frown.

"We were engaged for one whole year and even his parents accepted, but then he got another proposal from some girl." I replied thinking about it.

"And?" his word interrupted the memories and I turned to look at him.

"And that family was ready to give him very large dowry as the girl was crazy for him. He was reluctant, but as his family wished, he broke up with me and married that girl." I explained and he slowly caressed my scalp making me smile.

"The disadvantage I had is not there anymore for me. And also now they are divorced." I added, making him still.

"Why?" he asked, frowning.

"Because he was bought literally and was treated like that which he didn't like." I replied, making him stare at me with a blank expression.

"How do you know all this?" he asked after a few minutes.

"Because he is my boss." Saying that I closed my eyes and drifted off into sleep feeling tired.

"What are you doing?" his question made me turn around to see him standing near the doorway with his coffee cup.

"Getting ready for work." I replied with a smile and arranged the hair properly before walking towards him.

"Why don't you take leave today? I also have very little work and we can relax." He offered when I was checking my watch.

"No! Today there is an operation to be done and my boss already called me as I need to be there early." I explained and he stayed silent after which I gave him a nod and started passing but he pulled me back for a long kiss before releasing me.

"Are you okay?" I asked, looking at his face, to which he nodded and I nodded back before leaving the place.

"Sure! I will stay here." I have accepted the doctor's orders to keep an eye on the patient for tonight.

"I will also stay until late. So, you can have breaks in between." He offered, to which I just gave a nod while he just stood there to stare at me.

"And you can ask your visitor to leave." He added making me frown.

"The nurse informed me when you went to check some other patient that you have a visitor waiting for you." He explained to which I just gave a nod and started walking off but he cleared his throat.

"Is he your boyfriend?" he asked making me turn around.

"You saw my visitor?" I asked back, to which he gave a nod.

"Yes! He is my boyfriend." Saying that I walked off and reached the reception to see Ansh sitting in the chair looking around.

"Is something wrong?" I asked, reaching near him.

"No! I came to pick you up." He replied holding my hand.

"But today I need to stay at night also. I just got to know and I need to call Anusha also." I explained and he gave a nod.

"And tomorrow I can take the leave." I added looking at his face and he gave a low laugh squeezing my hand.

"Okay! I will leave then but give me a call when you are going to leave the hospital tomorrow morning. I will pick you up." He offered and left after I accepted it without questioning.

Somehow from that morning when I called him to pick me up, he kind of made it a habit of dropping me and picking me up.

Sometimes we go to his flat and many times we come to our place where we will be just cuddling making me laugh sometimes.

"What happened?" I asked one day looking at Anusha when she sat there lost in her thoughts.

"Well, he found me." She replied and I immediately understood.

"And he was here yesterday night." She added, making Ansh set down his spoon and turn to stare at me.

"I somehow sent him back by warning him, but he kind of gave me a warning too." She continued.

"What?" I asked her frowning.

"You see I am a partner in his company and as I was hiding and as there was a contract on my work obligation for five years, I need to return to work otherwise there could be a legal suite." She explained making me stare at her in shock.

"I will pay the compensation." Ansh immediately said, but he shook her head.

"I can't take such a large amount." she said leaning back.

"So, you are going back to work for him?'' he asked frowning.

"I am still thinking." She replied, standing up before leaving the dining area to her room while he sat in silence.

"We need to talk." He suddenly said, returning to the kitchen after finishing his phone call.

"Why do you always say we need to talk?" I asked him frowning to which he snorted.

"Because I am such a lucky guy." He mutters to which I gave a shrug and wiped my hands finishing with the utensil cleaning.

"Seems like the bodyguard went out for a few minutes during which that person came here." He vexed out and I calmly listened.

"I should have never left her alone." He mumbled.

"But you were not staying here all the days." I said, frowning to which he sighed.

"I don't mean I should have stayed with her, but just that she shouldn't have been left alone." He explains.

"It means that we shouldn't have gone to your apartment at all in simple terms." I said and he stood there in silence making me realize that was his actual meaning.

"Okay! We can end our relationship right now." I said, leaning back and he immediately stared at me.

"Who said about ending?" he asks with a frown.

"You are saying we will not be going to your flat again and that was a mistake and that means there is no relationship." I said but he just shook his head walking near to me.

"Of course there is!" he said, holding my hands.

"But we don't.... you know... here..." I said not wishing to say the words out loud.

"But he was here and I was there..." he trailed off pressing his forehead to my shoulder.

"She will not be alone in this house again." I promised, but he still stood there with tension to which I moved one hand to his neck and slowly gave a pressure.

"I left her all alone once and I don't want to do it again." He whispered and I smiled, moving my other hand around him before hugging him and he returned the hug.

We stayed like that for some time before returning to my room and so the arrangement started with both of us staying at the house only and sometimes he doesn't stay while when I have to do the night shift, he stays at the house.

"Is something wrong between you both?" Anusha asked both of us after a few days.

"Nothing!" he replied while I stayed calm before giving her the truth.

"That would be the dumb plan if I am going to work with him, isn't it?" she asked to which he went still.

"Anu!" he warns but she shook her head.

"I have decided and I am going to work from tomorrow." She confirms and he couldn't say anything else.

"Fine! But all you need to say is just one word and I will be there." He promised making her smile and give him a hug while I just sat there staring at both of them.

And suddenly she stood up properly and he too stood up from his place before they both reached near me and then... and then hugged me tightly which made me close my eyes and hug them back with a big smile and tears appearing in my eyes.
