She seems like her usual self but as what I have said, hindi ko naman po siya nakasama nang matagal kaya di po ako gano'n kasigurado." The police officer nodded while scribbling my statement on his notes.
It has been more than 24 hours since Katrina was missing so her parents already reported her disappearance to the authority. The police came to our school to interview some of my classmates including me, whether we have any idea where Katrina might be.
May mahalaga pa akong pupuntahan.
Yesterday, I just recieved a letter who had my sister's name on it. Though, there was no implication that it was my sister who wrote it, I still decided to feed my curiosity.
Before the clock struck 12 noon, I pushed the library's door open, delivering me into a spacious hall full of books and shelves. Ten long wodden tables, about 10 feet in length stretched in the hall where few students can be seen busily reading their books.
The female libarian gave me a small sweet smile before I left her desk.
I felt smaller compared to them.
I walked towards aisle 17, not knowing what to expect and what to see. However, when I got there, the aisle was motionless. Not a single soul was present, and only the dusty books were there.
"I'm glad you came." My heart almost jumped when an unfamiliar voice called me from behind.
His deep brown eyes met mine. I felt a sense of uneasiness as we locked our eyes so I tried to divert my gaze in order to avoid his.
He's wearing the school's uniform so I guess he's also a student here. His nose bridge was higher than normal. He had a tall and strong physique, with a messy hair falling down to his thick and dark eyebrows.
"Ikaw…ikaw ang nagpadala ng sulat?" Bahagyang bumaba ang aking balikat. The small hope that it was my sister who sent the letter slowly vanished. I was a fool to even consider it.
"I'm sorry…for using your sister's name."
His footesteps echoed.
"How did you know my sister?"
"I don't, but I know a few things about her that might interest you."
"What?" I failed to hide the curiosity in my voice.
"Your sister's disappearance is not just an ordinary one."
"Anong ibig mong sabihin?"
"Kung gusto mong maliwanagan, I suggest you follow me. It is not safe to stay here. There are ears and eyes everywhere." He walked past me and headed deeper into the hall. I hesitated to follow him but in the end I found myself walking behind him.
"Ngayon na medyo nasa tago na tayo, pwede mo nang itanong lahat ng gusto mong itanong," he said as he stopped in front of me.
"What do you know about my sister's disappearance?"
"Agad-agad? But sure, I'll give you the answer that you asked for. I believe that your sister's disappearance is part of a bigger crime." Napakurap ako sa sinabi niya. I already had my suspicion but it was still different when another person tells it to you.
"I have my ways."
Are you the one who kidnapped her?" There was spite in my tone.
He stepped closer while I took a step backward. Mahigpit akong nakakapit sa palda ko. If he will do something bad to me, some students in this library will surely hear us.
I don't know you. You have no reasons to help me…so why?" My voice slightly trembled as he came closer to me.
"The people responsible for your sister's disappearance is also responsible for the death of my parents." "Now if you really want to know why I called you, it is because I am offerring you a chance for an alliance."
"I'm sorry what?" Muntik na akong matawa sa sinabi niya. Nagbibiro ba siya? Alliance?
"So basically, you're asking me if I could share everything I know about my sister's disappearance? I'm sorry but no. If you really want to get my trust you have to earn it. I refuse your offer. I prefer to work alone." I left and walked passed him.
He could be a dangerous man.
"Have you ever seen a person with red glowing eye?" "If you'll decline this offer, you are throwing away a huge opportunity."
"How did you know about them?"
"Tell me! How did you know about them?"
"You're asking me what I know about the 'red eyes'. I'm sorry but no. If you really want to get my trust you have to earn it."
"I am only willing to share what I know if you'll take my offer for an alliance," he said.
His offer became more tempting.
"You won't.
If what you are saying were true, hindi mo na ako kailangan pa.
Is he implying that the person who could be responsible for my sister's disappearance is closer than I thought?
"Sino?"
"Vee…" His words echoed in my mind. She can't be. Siya ang pinakamatalik na kaibigan ni Ate. Hinding-hindi siya tatraydorin nito, 'di ba?
"Nice try, whoever you are—"
"Gino Valler, I'm sorry if I forgot to introduce myself."
"Vee would never betray my sister."
"Mrs.
"I'm sorry, sir. Good afternoon po."
"I want to remind you that I don't tolerate such disrespectful behavior but I will let it slide for today. You can take your seat now."
"By the way, class." I have here in my bowl the names of students from my class in HUMMS-11.
"Since our class is oral communication, I want all of you to overcome your fear of communication.
"Anong activity po ito, Sir?" my classmate with long curly hair asked.
"You have to interview your partner and ask them everything about his or herself, and vice-versa."
Bella’s POVAMONG all people. But then, this could be my chance to know some things about him. This might be a blessing in disguise.‘’Gino Valler.’’ I quickly rolled it back. ‘’Ang swerte mo naman. Ang gwapo na yan!’’‘’You know him?’’‘’Oo, kilala ko yan! We came from the same school pero di nga lang kami close. Although, I doubt it na mahirap siyang hanapin. With looks like his, malabong ‘di siya kilala ng ilang mga estudyante rito. ’’ I gently smiled at her. I already know what he looks like, but Nahlia does not have to know that.‘’Sure,’’ tipid kong sagot. The day ended early and we were fin
Bella’s POV The campus police later came into the scene. As what I heard, the boy's name was Gerald, Tracy's boyfriend. They were about to cut class when a black van stopped in front of them. Four masked and armed men got down from the van and tried to shove Tracy inside the vehicle. Gerald and Tracy tried to fight back but they were greatly outnumbered by the armed men. Tracy was eventually taken while Gerald managed to run away. He went back to the campus and then that was when we witnessed him running towards the gate. The three girls whom we talked earlier also insisted to say. They were Tracy's friend so they also wan't to know what happened to her.
Stephanie's POV The candle fire gently danced with the subtle breeze of air entering from my window. Its flame barely gave me enough light to read my book. The rain had finally subsided and all that was left was the cold wind brushing against my skin. I was hoping that the electricity would come back sooner but my anticipation just lead to disappointment. Mukhang matatagalan pa yata bago bumalik ang kuryente. Malakas din ang ulan kanina. My attention was diverted from my book when I heard the door creaked open. An eldery woman with partially grey hair entered my room with a lamp raised on her right arm. Though her face looked old and wrinkled, her physique and movements were as young as a woman in her thirties. "No, Nana. I'll go down in just a bit. Mauna ka na po. Susunod lang ako." Tita Lin
A year after… I'm still not ready to be a Senior High student but I have no choice. "Maaga s'yang umalis kanina," she answered without even looking at my
"Have you heard? Katrina is missing." "I did, but I just saw her yesterday leaving the school with her friends." The gossip about Katrina being missing spread like wildfire. The news, as I heard it, claimed that at 9 pm, Katrina was last seen leaving her house alone. Her family said that she just left to buy some foods from a department store. However, she didn't came back from then on. Well, some might think that she was just with her friends but none of her friends also knew where she was. Just as I was about to enter the room, I heard a group of women talking about Katrina's disappearance. "Katrina isn't someone who leaves her house for a long time without informing her parents about her wherebouts. Yes
