Chapter 11
Alcantara
Why does the universe seem to be against me in this moment of my life?
I can’t believe this man had just ruined my chances to escape and leave this place.
I glare at him, as he just stands there, grinning at me like this is all some twisted joke.
Even behind the sleek black nose mask that covered half his face, I could see that self-satisfied smirk of his.
It’s funny how a person’s arrogance can seep through any barrier, no matter how hard they try to hide it.
“There’s always a price for leaving the mansion Mami,”
He says, his voice smooth and taunting, as though he’s relishing each word.
His dark eyes glimmered with something I couldn’t quite name. It felt like a mix of amusement and cruelty that made my skin crawl.
“You know I can’t help you run away from me, Alcantara. I mean, you are my princess, and as your prince, I have to stay by your side at all times.”
The audacity of his words hit me like a slap.
What the fuck does he think he is? I feel my pulse quicken, my body rushing with anger and disgust.
Who does he think he is? My thoughts are in a whirlwind of rage, I try to yank my wrist away, but the cold, unforgiving metal of the handcuff pulls me right back to him. I’m tied, bound to him in the most humiliating way possible.
Oh my goodness, doesn’t he see how ridiculous this was?
“It’s weird that everyone here isn’t looking at you like some madman cause why the hell would you walk proudly with your hands cuffed to me.”
He chooses to ignore me as we enter the mansion and that infuriates me more.
“Is that why you cuffed our hands together?!”
I yell, my voice echoing through the empty hallway, bouncing off the grand walls.
But he doesn’t flinch. He doesn’t even bother to look at me. Instead, he laughs, a deep and mocking sound that only adds fuel to my burning fury. He doesn’t answer my question—of course, he doesn’t. Instead, he tightens his grip on my wrist, pulling me forward as we’re led into a grand courtyard.
After a while, he stops and looks at me.
“In normal circumstances, I should be putting these cuffs on you somewhere more convenient, like in our bedroom or something, but I guess I can be naughty anywhere I like”
My God! I am officially going to run mad because of this man.
I decide to not drag it further and distract myself from my surroundings.
The courtyard we entered seemed to be very massive, far more extravagant than anything I’ve ever seen.
This place reeks of power, the kind that’s been passed down through generations, My breath catches in my throat as I take it all in, feeling like a tiny, insignificant speck in this world of luxury.
We’re led through an enormous set of double doors that open up into a grand hall. Then I spot a figure,
He’s a man in his fifties, with a head full of perfectly combed silver hair and a sharp, clean-shaven face that screams wealth and control.
His suit was crisp and tailored to perfection just like Alphonso’s.
But his suit didn’t cling to him like a second skin the way it does on Alphonso. Why in fucks name was I now comparing him to Alphonso.
I stared at the man in observation, he looked like the kind of man who has had everything handed to him, someone who’s never had to fight for anything because the world has always bent to his will. Old money, and lots of it.
I can’t read his expression as he looks at me. It’s brief, just a quick, assessing glance before he turns his attention away as if I’m of no importance.
I have no idea who he is, but the tension in the room is almost suffocating, thick and heavy like the humid air before a storm. I steal a sideways glance at Alphonso, trying to read him, trying to understand what’s going on between him and this man.
They haven’t said a word to each other, but the silence speaks volumes. There’s history here, I sense it. Are they enemies? Rivals? Or is this something more complicated? Oh my what if they pull out guns and point at each other, just the thought of that wanted to make me puke.
Before I can make sense of everything going on, the man’s voice cuts through the silence, sharp and commanding.
“I see you brought your pet to our meeting.”
Okay, now I felt a sting.
Did this bastard just call me a Pet?
A freaking Pet!
Not a person, not even a name, just a possession, a toy to be paraded around. I can feel Alphonso’s grip tighten around my wrist, and for a moment, I wonder if he’s going to say something. Do something.
My mind races. I want to scream, to rip my hand away from Alphonso’s, and run as far and as fast as I can. But I’m stuck, chained to this man who thinks he owns me.
Just then in a blink of an eye, I see something that shocks me to the core.
Alphonso had somehow thrown a pocket knife with a free hand at The man’s right shoulder.
The Man grips it in pain and yells.
The knife had pierced through, I could only imagine the pain.
“For Fucks sake Manuel!”
The two guards of the men in the room run inside and point their guns at Alphonso and me while Alphonso’s guards counterattack and point theirs at The Man too.
The tension in the room intensified as they both glared at each other.
“Blanco, your men can choose to keep wasting their time pointing their guns at me or they can instead cover up your wounds before it becomes too serious.”
He tells them to lower their guns which they do and Alphonso’s men do the same too.
A few minutes later a nurse is treating the Blanco guy's wound and I and Alphonso are sitting watching him.
“Why can’t you use words, Manuel? Does it kill to tell me to treat your woman with respect? You are the one that brought her up here all handcuffed.”
I stare at Alphonso to see his reaction. True, he cuffed me and is restricting my freedom right now, but he still stood up for me. I had to admit it was sexy that he threw that knife immediately…
His response however cuts my train of thought.
“Sometimes it takes a knife to the shoulder for one to understand things, anyways you were right, She’s my pet, but I am the only one that is allowed to call her that, only I can name who belongs to me.”
Of course, I shouldn’t have expected anything better. Now I don’t know which one is more infuriating, him calling me his pet or this Blanco guy.
I gritted my teeth.
I am going to teach him a lesson, I cannot let this slide.
Hello everyone, what do you think she will do in the next chapter, what surprise do our characters have for us.
Chapter 12Alphonso…I was now bored watching Antonio be treated with him still not telling us the business we came for.I had to ask, I didn’t want my princess to be Uncomfortable.“We don’t have all the time in the world, so tell me what business proposition you have,”I said, trying to keep things moving. Blanco sat across from us, looking too relaxed now his wounds had been treated. He leaned back, still wearing that self-satisfied grin. “Okay”He pushed some documents to me and continued.“I recently bought a two-billion-dollar tourist hotel in Thailand—top location, luxury suites, the works extremely beautiful and I want you to invest with a ten percent interest rate. We could make a lot of money together.”I raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.“ Ten percent interest you say? And how do I know this isn’t some kind of trap?”Blanco started to respond, but then Tara’s flinching distracted me a bit. I noticed her squirming in her seat. She was tugging at the handcuffs, clearly irritate
Chapter one. Alcantara Walters.I just marched angrily to the company’s building in annoyance and disgust. A security guard tried stopping me on sight but I was able to dodge his attempt to grab me relentlessly and used the elevator before he could get to me. Of course, due to my messy look and scattered hair, I looked like I didn’t belong in that environment, like a woman on drugs or something. Little do these people know that I am the secret wife of their owner and CEO, Pascal Danvers and Sadly, that was all going to change from today. While inside I could see the reddening of my face on the reflection of the mirror-like elevator walls. I gripped the Divorce papers in my hands. It was now or never. My heart kept beating fast but I consoled myself by remembering why I was doing this. When the doors opened up to the 25th floor which happened to be Pascal’s Office, I rushed past the receptionist and barged into his office, I could hear her yell at me to stop and that he was in
Chapter Two Alphonso ManuelThere were two kinds of people I hated. The first one were slow witted people and the second kind are the ones that lie to my face. And unfortunately, I was going to deal with the second kind of person right this instant. I am standing in the torturing chambers staring at one of the useless beings that used to work for the Manuel family, my family. A liar and a betrayer of the family, a snitch to the core. Ten of my guards joined me in this quest as his case was a very critical one. No one betrayed the family and let go easily. They were always made to face a slow and painful death. When we got to the room he was in.I took off my suit and passed it to the guard beside me. My little prisoner in question was tied kneeling and was shaking heavily as he saw me. I relished in this a lot. The fear in the eyes of this lousy betraying leeches. “Boss, please forgive me, it was the devils doing,” Now this is what got me so irritated, those that blamed th
Chapter three. Alcantara Walters.I opened my eyes and saw a golden ceiling before me, the room was spacious and huge and I started to wonder if I was in heaven already. I tried slipping out of the bed but I clumsily pushed down a little golden calling bell that was beside me and its loud noise began to echo in the room. Just then I started hearing a lot of footsteps. It sounded like people marching up the stairs, in a minute the door in the room flew open and seven women in maid uniforms carrying a lot of dishes came into the room. I opened my mouth in shock. As an older and friendly-looking maid of the seven came a bit closer to talk to me. “Good morning, Miss, it is a pleasure to serve you this morning, we have arranged a full-course breakfast which has been prepared by our very fine chef Sir Angus of great Ireland. We hope it will be to your liking” I stared mutely at the woman unable to say a word as I watched them bring a footed large tray on the bed and drop all the food
Chapter four Alphonso ManuelIt wasn't until evening that I was finally able to see my mother. I barged into her chambers to question her on the recent news I just heard. She was firm in telling me.“You will like her, Trust your mother” I sighed in frustration, I still enjoyed my single life, finding a wife now was a delay on my part. I don’t even like women past the bed stage, what would make this woman different? “What is her name?” My mother sat facing the mirror as she touched up her face.“Alcantara, she is not from these parts, I think she just relocated here from another country.” Okay, this seemed interesting, she was a foreigner. I began pacing front and back in thought. “If she doesn’t agree to be my bride, what would happen?” I and my mother knew very well that no one was supposed to know about our organization and what we truly are, the society knew only what The Manuel family wanted them to know, anyone asking to know more shall end up Dead.My mother paused as
Chapter five My palms were sweaty as I stood in front of the mirror while the maids dressed me up in an elegant red dinner gown, I was sure I had never worn before. They saw the ruined curtains on the floor and just kept quiet about it, asking me nothing, except my choice of jewelry and other body accessories. When they were sure that I was all dolled up, the head maid comes in and tells me that I am already few minutes late for dinner and it would make the Bosses very annoyed. She urged me to get up and hasten for the dinning room as il Sovrano and her son must be waiting for me. I remember the words of the stranger I had met in that balcony; I would act when they least expect and escape from this place to see my brother. I couldn’t help but wonder who that man at the balcony was and if he was also kidnapped like me, I would really love to help him too. As I reached the Dining room, I was surprised by the very little table that only had Four chairs. For a mansion as elegant an
Chapter 6 Alphonso’s pov.I stared at her as she gracefully strode in front of me as we made our way to the garden. After having our dinner a few minutes ago. She looked good in the gown she wore that night, fucking good, too good. I wondered what I was going to tell her, just admiring her backside like this was beautiful.I waved at my guards who were walking behind us, to reduce their pace, I needed some alone time with my prospect. When they were far enough, I began.“You can talk freely now; the guards have given us enough space to…”Before I could finish my sentence, I saw her turn at a speed of almost lightning and point a small table knife to my neck.I wasn’t quick to dodge it so I just stood there staring into her hazel eyes with a knife held to my throat. My guards noticed that something was off but I asked them to stay back.An involuntary smile crept on my face. it was at this moment that I realized that Alcantara was bad news.Only this woman can stop my heart and sta
Chapter 7Alcantara WaltersI am now convinced that the people in this mansion are either psychopaths or non-humans, I mean how the hell was this man able to keep a straight face and tell me that I was going to fall in love with him after a month? What kind of challenge was that?“Can you even listen to yourself right now? How the hell is this a plan?”I watched the sly smug on his face disappear when he realized that I wasn’t going to buy his shit.“You do not understand it?”I nod affirmatively.“You are giving me two options and both of them entail that I stay here in your crazy mansion for more than a day? Hell 31 days, what do you want me to understand?”He releases his grip on me and I step further away from him so he doesn’t touch or grab me anymore.“I can’t stay here, I feel uneasy, as much as I don’t have a life out there, I sure as hell know that I don’t belong here either!”He looks unfazed by my pleas and responds.“Since you can’t listen to me, I think I will have to show
