4| His inquires

**Mavin**

"Who the hell was that lady?" I stared at Sir Adam angrily. The last thing I remembered was sending him to get me a glass of water while I was busy going through my grandfather's will.

Grandpa wanted me to marry by force, but I didn't want to.

I was the only son and child of my parents. My father didn't marry my mother; instead, he went on to marry another woman. When I was young, and with my mom being a stripper and club addict, Grandpa had to raise me all alone. He left all his properties to me instead of my father and his wife.

I hated women with a passion, as I couldn't believe my own mother was so consumed by lust and pleasure that she turned a blind eye to me and abandoned me when I needed her the most.

I was 35 years old now, and my grandpa wouldn't stop reminding me that I was getting old.

"Mavin, you need to marry so you can have a successor," Grandpa kept reminding me, as I was his favorite grandson.

Grandpa had other granddaughters and grandsons too, from his daughters, but he never looked at them like they were his grandsons whenever they visited. He would say, "They're all bearing their father's surname, not mine."

"You need to marry, Mavin, to give me a great-grandson before I pass away." Grandpa said this to me every day, like a national anthem. This time, I was enraged because that water wasn’t ordinary.

I felt as hard as a rock, and I was really in need of a woman to have sex with. I was burning hot, and the pain in my member was immeasurable; it hurt like it wanted to explode.

"Adam! I will ask you for the last time before I involve the police: What did you do to me, and who was that lady I saw on my bed this morning?"

I didn't want to believe that I had slept with that pretty yellow lady. With the way she had stared at me in surprise this morning with her big round blue eyes, I was shocked. I had never seen a lady with such big eyes before, and they looked lovely on her face as she blinked at me like a doll, staring at me like I was a dummy too.

Her skin looked so soft and pampered. I knew from the very moment I woke up and set my eyes on her that she was a rich man's daughter; her innocence was so visible in her face and body language.

As much as I hated women around me, I hadn’t thought that I would sleep with one so soon. Most of my female staff knew better than to try to seduce me at work; they would be fired immediately.

I hadn't slept with a woman before, and I couldn’t remember what happened between me and that pretty yellow lady last night. I only recalled the moment I had dragged her into my bedroom. Whether I had actually slept with her or not, I didn’t know, as my head still hurt and my memory was still vague about it.

"Tell me for the last time, what did you do to me, Sir Adam?" I roared at Sir Adam, my anger making me want to grab him and beat him for daring to drug me.

He apologized, "I'm sorry, boss. Your grandpa ordered me to do it."

"To do what?" I asked again, standing in my sitting room and glaring at him coldly.

Just then, my sitting room door pushed open gently, and my grandpa walked in.

"Mavin, what's going on here?" Grandpa asked, pretending not to know.

"Good morning, Grandpa," I greeted him first. I was only wearing a white towel around my waist, and he looked from Adam to me and smiled.

"You can leave us, Adam," Grandpa said, but I quickly interjected, "No, Grandpa, I haven’t asked Sir Adam to leave yet."

"What's the matter, Mavin? And who was that pretty young lady I saw leaving the house earlier?"

My fist clenched as I heard my grandpa’s question.

"I don't know her, Grandpa. It's the same reason I asked Sir Adam to wait," I replied coldly, and I could see Grandpa staring at Sir Adam, pretending like he didn't know what had been planned between them.

"Alright, be quick, Mavin, as I would like you to accompany me to the hospital today," Grandpa reminded me of his medical treatment, and I groaned, "Okay, Grandpa."

I watched as my grandpa turned and finally exited my sitting room, my eyes shifting to glare at Sir Adam again.

"Can you start speaking to me now, or I won’t hesitate to fire you this minute? Who was that fucking lady, and where did you bring her from?" I asked Adam, wanting to know more about the lady I had slept with.

I knew I shouldn’t be concerned about her, but I still wanted to know where Sir Adam had found such a pretty lady with her blue eyes, sharp pointed nose, and innocent demeanor.

"I met her at our hotel, boss," Sir Adam said, and I asked him, "Which hotel?"

"The LX Hotel, boss."

I frowned, knowing that was my grandfather's hotel. My grandpa had seized control of all his companies, but he couldn't seize mine unless I agreed to marry and give him a great-grandchild. Then he would release his company to me.

I wasn't against the idea of having children, but finding a good woman to be the mother of my kids was the problem. All my past relationships had crashed and barely lasted a week or two days.

"What's her name, and which family is she from? I need you to find out more information about her and do your research to know where she’s from," I told Adam as I turned to walk back into my room.

"Alright, boss." Adam turned to leave the sitting room, but I stopped him. "Wait, Sir Adam... you haven’t told me her name yet. Didn't you pay her off this morning?" I asked, wanting to know.

The last thing I never wanted was for any lady to accuse me of rape. I didn’t want to admit that I had slept with that beautiful woman.

With the way she had looked so flushed, with red marks all over her cheeks and neck, especially when I had spun her around to face me, it was evident I must have touched her last night and probably was the one who kissed her. Leaving all those hickeys all over her fair skin.

It was so evident that I'd slept with her, and even the thought about it alone made my muscles harden.

"She said her name is Thelma, boss," Sir Adam said.

"Thelma who? How can you bring a lady here without confirming her complete identity? Where’s the bank account information you used to transfer the payment to her so we can verify her name?" I demanded. I knew mostly rich families lived in City B, and it was possible that the young lady named Thelma was a rich man's daughter or related to one. I didn’t want to think of her as a prostitute.

"Boss, I haven’t transferred any payment to her account. She ran away without giving me her details, and before I could reach her downstairs, Grandpa had already ordered Thompson to escort her out to the gate," Sir Adam replied, and my fist clenched.

"Hmm, leave then," I dismissed Sir Adam and finally walked back into my bedroom.

I slammed my bedroom door closed, wanting to take a bath.

I had to prepare to take Grandpa Charlie to the hospital. I stared at my white bedspread, as I loved everything white and neat around me.

But my eyes fell on the red blood stained on the white bedsheet, and I gasped, "Shit! What's that?"

I rushed toward the bedspread and picked it up, my blood boiling as I sought to understand exactly what it meant.

Damn it! I had to gain access to the LX Hotel to find out what exactly Thelma went there for and who she really was.

"But why do I care about her anyway? It was a one-night stand between us."

"There’s no need for me to want to see her again. I dislike women, and I don’t plan to talk to her again either," I encouraged myself, tossing the white bedspread onto the floor.

I immediately called for the maids to come and tidy up my bedroom and pick up the white bedspread before I went into my bathroom to bathe.
