Book Two: Branch Thirteen

The smug expression that Joshua had when he began to drive was now gone because he had done very poorly at driving. As Aletta had predicted he was very bad at driving and now he was so ashamed he did not know how to react to save his face.

When he pulled up in the parking lot of his mom's restaurant Aletta's grip on the seatbelt finally loosened and she took a sigh of relief. "I thought I would lose my life today" she breathed out which made Joshua close his eyes in shame.

He opened the door and stood outside the door. He blamed himself for insisting on driving. He knew he needed to do better. Why did he have the license when he could not even use it?

He walked over to the passenger's seat of the car and opened it up for her which startled her. "Oh my gosh," she let out in a scare.

"Come on out," he said as he stretched his hands to her. He needed to pretend like he did not just put their lives in danger a few moments ago.

"Can I have a moment?" she answered ignoring his stretche
