Chapter Ninety-Seven

Rain's POV.

The speed with which my mother jumped back told me exactly what had transpired between both of them. It simply meant that she was gossiping about me and was not even ashamed to do that.

"Rain... I was only making your wife understand certain things about you, it wasn't like I was doing anything bad. Why do you look angry? I told your father that this was supposed to be a seamless dinner and the most eventful in a long while but what did he go ahead to do? Probably provoked you didn't he?" Her face turned grim and I started to feel bad for her. She didn't need to stress herself over something beyond her control.

My father's actions were only due to what he had heard about my wife and I didn't give two cents about it. His countenance wasn't going to change how I felt about her not even in the least. I wasn't also going to tell them how Cheryl had cornered me in the kitchen just a few minutes ago when I went to look for Zyrielle.
