ROSALIND LIGHTWOOD★

As I stepped off the plane, I pulled my luggage behind me, the night air wrapping around me like a blanket. The flight had taken the usual eleven hours to reach the city.

After leaving the airport, I stood outside, scanning the street for a cab. Just as one pulled up in front of me, I heard a familiar voice calling my name—Jeremy. I turned to see him weaving through the crowd, determination etched on his face as he made his way toward me.

I swiftly stowed my luggage in the trunk and slid into the backseat, relaying my destination to the driver, who immediately started the engine and pulled away.

As I stole a glance at him, I noticed the fury simmering beneath his calm exterior.

I couldn't help but marvel at his patience for waiting at the airport until I finally emerged.

Upon arriving at Carrie's house, I settled the fare and retrieved my bags, then approached the door, pressing the bell and knocking insistently.
