[7] I FELL FOR YOU

I chuckled. Throwing another pillow at Cole, who had a pout on his face I was the only one having fun. I rolled my eyes at his antics as I tried to stand up from his bed, He pulled me back in, “And where are you going?” He asked with a smirk

“To Work, where else?” I replied cheekily, before I Feigned a gasp, “Do you want to give me a day off cookie?” I taunted, Looking into his blue orbs, “Only if you spend it with me” He replied with a shit-eating grin, I rolled my eyes and slipped out of Bed, We had spent the whole Night cuddling, I had made it clear to him, that I wasn't ready for anything more than that.

“Nooo” He grumbled playfully, as I headed into the shower, I stuck my tongue out at him, And closed the door, I undressed and stared at the mirror for a while, Scars never get old, now do they?

It had been over two years since Dayo died, or better put Since I killed him. I ran my hands through my hair as the water poured down on me,

“Sugar, do you need a towel?” Cole yelled out from the room.

“Yeah, just drop it by the door!” I yelled out.

Cole.

Cole Darwin

He's the best thing that could have ever happened to me, He's kind, Caring and patient too, He's also fun to be around, The fair-skinned, 6ft tall man never ceased to amaze me, In the last two months that we spent together, I've tasted paradise.

And believe me, It was a mouth-watering delicacy.

Cole was the owner of Damsel Diva's as you have imagined, and the heir to Tidal shipment company (TSC) A successful company that belonged to his Father, His mother was a famous designer, and rumor around was that she owned almost half the boutiques in London. Simply put, they were stinking wealthy. Now, A handsome charming guy, Who was wealthy and had his whole life sorted out, Who's dream guy isn't he? Not mine, Seeing as my insecurities were ruining it all.

I had this feeling that he was hiding something from me, but I just couldn't pinpoint what, I turned off the shower and exited the room, a smile on my face as I realized that once again he had kept his promise to give me privacy, I dried myself with the Towel and changed into some formal clothes, Though I would have to change my dress when I got there, I had insisted we kept our relationship a secret at work, At least until he informed his parents.

I was about to leave the room before I noticed a picture laying on the ground, I picked it up and it was the picture of a curly-haired lady before I could say "Jack" Cole had snatched it from me.

“Hey! I was looking at that!” I asked offended.

“Oh well, now you aren't” He simply said with a smug smile.

“Who's she?” I said as I rested on the door with my arms folded on my chest.

“Uh...she's my sister, my sister”

“Your sister” I echoed “okay, What's her name?” I asked deciding to buy his story, “Anabelle”

“as in that scary doll in that movie? She doesn't look scary though” I said chuckling as he turned red and feigned offense, “Hey!” he said with his famous pout. I rolled my eyes and headed out.

“Do you have to go?” Cole said a pout on his face, As he showed off his muscles and six-pack with his body hug black shirt.

“In case you have forgotten, I work as a model for Damsel diva's” I paused pretending I had forgotten something “Yeah, the same company you own, so come on getting dressed, I'll be off now” I called out as I headed to one of his cars, which he had given me access to.

****************

“Chin up, and maintain your pose, yeah, yeah, just like that. You are doing just great Miss Ara!” Daniel, the  photographer said

“that will be all,” he finished as he kept his equipment back.

“These photos are a bomb!” Michelle, my stylist commented as she looked them over from Daniel's Camera. Her dimples showed as she flashed an adorable smile. She was a tall dark-skinned woman, Who had a goofy and cheerful demeanor. She had big brown eyes and was currently wearing black jeans and a  white top. Probably deciding to cool off on fashion this week, another reason why I was currently wearing jeans, a tube top, and black flannel.

I retreated to the couch which was situated in the room, I sighed pulling out my phone, I hadn't heard from Bola in a while, might as well call the curly-haired girl.

“Hey, bee!” I said cheerfully

“A-Aramide, we need to talk” she sounded tense and agitated, I frowned. suddenly upset “what's wrong bee? About what?”

“It's Cole, I need you to be careful, and we need to talk in person” Now I was confused.

“Why would I need to be careful, it's cole remember, what's wrong?” I stood up and walked away from the room, so they were out of earshot.

“not cole, the people he moves with, Look, we'll talk about it tomorrow morning yeah? Please take care”

“Sure bee, goodbye” With that, I removed the phone from my eyes and stared at the screen for a while,

What was happening?

I contemplated calling her back, but before I could proceed Michelle had my phone in her hands, she rolled her eyes when I raised an eyebrow,

“C'mon let's try another outfit, We have a ton of pictures to take!” she shrieked, I rolled my eyes. Wasn't she too excited about choosing clothes for another person?

************

“This was a great idea” I smiled as I sunbathed on the beach, I was currently wearing a white bikini that looked good on my brown melanin-themed skin. From the side of my eye I caught sight of Cole heading over with a bottle of champagne and two cups, I sat up and collected one from him.

After getting me an early leave, Cole had the bright idea for us to go to the beach which was according to me Unprofessional but according to him, "Much needed Fun and rest" his words not mine.

“Whoa, what's your big idea? Get me drunk enough to get your way with me?” I joked, but he didn't find it funny though, His famous grin dropped and he suddenly became serious, He knelt in front of me and took my hands in his, making sure to maintain eye contact the whole time,

“I'd never do that to you, You know that right?” He asked, “I know,” I said

“It was just a joke okay? Can't a girl joke around?”

“It was a bad one, besides it's too expensive for me to buy,” He said as kissed my forehead and sat on the chair beside me, enjoying the view too

“Thanks,” I began, Immediately catching his attention “Thanks for everything” I finished.

“We're gonna meet my parents tomorrow, Are you excited?”

“More than I can ever express!” I giggled.

Bola's words echoed in my head, but I tossed them to the back of my head, I wanted to be happy, to enjoy these moments, to relish the beauty of the beach, I just wanted to relax, for a while.

If only I had known.

**********

“Seriously! Cole stop!” I said giggling furiously as he threw pillows at me, It wasn't so fun being on the receiving side ya know?

He stopped and climbed in bed, We stared at each other for a while, just enjoying each other's presence.

“Ara-”

“Thank you”

“Those are  your favorite words aren't they?” He teased, and I rolled my eyes a small smile playing on my lips

He moved closer to me, And before he could get even closer I spoke, “Cole, is there anything you are hiding from me?” and I could swear I saw a flash of panic in his eyes.

“No,” he coughed out awkwardly, turning it into a dry laugh, “Of course not,” He said.

He raised my chin with his two fingers “Please don't hurt me” I suddenly said “Don't play with my feelings, Don't break me into tinier pieces than I've already been broken into”

He shushed me with his finger,  looked me straight in the eyes, “I love you a lot, You know that right?”

“I love you too”

“then trust me,” He said as he got up from the bed, my eyes traced him, he came and knelt in front of me, where I was currently sat.  I Furrowed my eyebrow, Confused.

That was until I saw the red small box in his hand.

I looked back at him in shock, my eyes glossed, I smiled through my glassy eyes and he nodded as if to confirm my thoughts

“Aramide, Adegoke Do you agree to be my wife, In sickness and in health, through drama and fireworks, With sugar and cookies?”

I nodded vigorously, And I watched as  he slipped the silver ring unto my finger,

He helped me up and held me close. “I love you,” I said as a tear slipped.

“ I love you more..” he said

“More you than ever imagine” I replied. And with that, our lips collided and before I knew it, I had given myself to him, on a silver plater

******************

I yawned as I opened my eyes, I immediately closed them back, Not expecting the sun to be up by now.

Wait.

How long had I slept in??

Oh no.

I immediately got up, but before I could run into the shower a knock at the door, stopped me. I paused and glanced at the ring that now adorned my finger, I smiled at the figure on the bed, The knocks got louder. I frowned.

What crawled up that person's ass?

I slipped on one of Cole's shirts that were almost reaching my knees.

I hurried to the door as the knocks got louder, Chuckling at the fact that Cole was able to sleep through it.

“Excuse me?” I said as I opened the door.

Oh if only I had known

“Who are you?” The curly-haired girl, who looked about 20 and was quite familiar spoke, as she eyed me down.

“um... You're the one in my house, you should introduce yourself” The girl let out a loud chuckle, and I already knew I didn't like her.

“your house? don't be stupid silly, What are you doing here?” she asked as she barged in

What. The. Hell?

Wait. I knew her.

She's that girl in the picture! Cole's sister!

But seriously, what crawled up her ass and died?

“Excuse me, you are Cole's sister, right? I know you came to see Cole, and he probably hasn't introduced me yet, but I'm Aramide, Cole's fiance” I said with an outstretched hand

The curly-haired  girl which I was sure I hated by now, eyed me from head to toe, the disgust in her eyes unwavering

“You're either delusional or this is a Joke, Cole Darwin's is my finance, you slut” she said as she shoved her finger in my face, A ring was on hers too...

“W-what?” I said stunned as my eyes watered.

“Sugar, You're—” I turned around to see Cole standing there shocked

“She's your sister, right?” I asked, my eyes begging him to say yes.

But of course, that answer never came.

There’s no mention of whether she eventually met her dad or not. Was he only at the hospital while she was in coma? Hope the next chapter answers that.

“I never imagined things would end like this mom,” Aracely’s hands traced the table as she stared at the mirror. She was in her mother’s dressing room getting ready and the brown-haired girl was almost sure that she was going to fall into the nearest bed and doze off. Aracely had no one else to blame but herself though. The nineteen-year-old knew that it was a horrible idea to go out partying all night yesterday which was Christmas, knowing fully well her parents’ wedding was today. “You still took stunning” Aramide commented as she finished up on her makeup. Aracely bit her lip and smiled. The brown-haired girl pulled her mother’s chair back and knelt in front of the woman. “I’ve never told you this but…” she paused. Her breath hitched and her eyes watered with fresh tears. “Thank you” Aracely breathed. Aramide’s eyes glistened with emotion but before she could speak, Aracely took the woman’s hands into hers, “Thank you so much for being my mother for –“ “Aracely, what’s g

Tears filled Aramide’s eyes and she couldn’t tell if it was tears of relief or sorrow, she finally regained control of her limbs and walked over to Bola. • ARAMIDE   [194] I won't make the same mistake twice.

The first thing Aramide noticed as she walked down the aisle was Aracely’s wide smile, her daughter looked so pretty. She was wearing a short pink gown and had a white bow on her brown hair, it was tied in a ponytail, the wedding was to take place in the garden and Aramide had to admit that Mercedes had done a great job with the decorations, the aisle had been designed with roses, not too far ahead. Efrain stood by one of the two pillars that held up the small space where the couple was to stand under. The chairs that were set in the garden were white, the scent of thick lavender filled the air, it was Aracely’s favorite scent and Aramide could vaguely remember that the scent lingered on Cole too. Aramide mirrored the smile on her daughter’s face, she was holding hands with someone – Cole. Aramide wasn’t sure she remembered when they had gotten together, but over the past two months, they had gotten closer. Ar

Aramide sighed as she stared into the mirror, she was dressed in a white gown and had a beautiful tiara on her newly styled hair. Her hands traced the jewelry on her neck and rested on the space between the jewelry and her off-shoulder dress – where the amulet rested. The one that bound her to her daughter for so many years. It had been a few months since Daniel died. Since he was buried and since Aracely had broken down in pain. The first few months had been horrible, Aracely barely ate or moved around, she was confined to the four walls of her room. Mercedes was devastated. She refused to look or even speak to Aramide. She blamed the brown-skinned woman for her brother’s death and she wasn’t wrong, to be honest. She was right. Aramide could still visualize the compounded images or Mercedes’ eyes with dark circles and her lips pursed into a line. Cole’s deep stares and sighs. The way his hands slowly ran through his

She could recall going over the hospital that Aramide had been in to get Cole back. That man knew too many of her secrets and now, Aramide knew then too, she could also recall that Aramide had refused to let her take Cole. An argument ensued and things got a bit bloody from there, but how did this happen though? Had she been caught? Was she in prison? She desperately needed answers now.
