Nineteen years ago, a prophecy appeared in the land of Calla Empire. "The day has come. The Goblin's Bride will be born. The Goblin will rise again." Mothers who were pregnant were f*rced to abort their unborn children. The Queen who was bearing the King's sole heiress was left with no other choice but to escape and run away from the Empire. Amara Fairoza turned into a lovely little girl. She was loved by the people of the woods and was always been a fan of folklores. "My children, do you want to know a secret?" said by an old woman when Amara was seventeen. "It was the Royal family who cursed the people. They were the ones who spread the disease and blame it to the Goblin. They took the Goblin and locked him under the palace. The Goblin's trapped into a deep sleep. A spell was casted by a witch and no one could wake him except for the kiss of his bride." She didn't have any idea back then that she was the lost queen of the empire and the Goblin's bride.

CHAPTER ONE

CHAPTER ONE The aroma coming from the brewed coffee was always been my wake-up call. Each morning, my Mother, Samantha, would prepare coffee and bread on the table for the three of us. It was an unbreakable morning routine for everyone. Mother's passion in baking started when I was five. Besides taking care of me, she had nothing to do that would make her busy. Afterwards, she started to run a bakery business. The store was just beside our home. It was a source of income and a hobby for her. At five o'clock in the morning, she would get up from bed to make breakfast. At six, she would open her store. Her breads were loved by our neighbors, especially those widower and unmarried men of her age. Mother was a beauty. Her elegance was always been overflowing just like a royalty. She moved in a smooth and attractive way, starting from the way she poured the hot coffee to our mugs, from the way she sipped her coffee and pinche

CHAPTER TWO

CHAPTER TWO Fear took over my soul. The thick smoke continued to expand. It was not stopping any minute by now. My palms were trembling and wet. My eyes were burning and I couldn’t utter a single word, because if I try, I would burst out into tears. Bella lost it. “Amara!” she cried and hugged me. She was crying out loud but it only tickled my ears, it was more of a whisper to me than a cry. I was hearing the loud bangs of my heart clearer than her loud cries. I started to sob when a burning image of our home flashed in my head. I broke out from Bella’s embrace and faced her.                   “W-we need to go back..” my voice cracked. I was out of air. My throat was aching and my chest was struggling to catch some air.I gathered all my strength to step out from where

CHAPTER THREE

CHAPTER THREE Voices were everywhere. My head that was throbbing woke me up from unconsciousness. When I opened my eyes, I saw the night sky. It was plain black and the moon was watching me. Branches of trees and its leaves were adding up to my view. There were no stars but the night sky was still stunning. It looked like a painting from down here. I sat up from where I was lying and a sheath fell from my embrace. It was meant to protect me from the cold breeze. I was still wearing the same wet white dress. The red stain was still there and my wound was now wrapped up with a piece of cloth. But I was still in the woods. A bonfire at the center was illuminating and keeping the place warm. Group of people were gathering around it like they were having a meeting. And I was frightened with the sight of the weapons that were placed on the ground. Memories came rushing to me. I tried to stand up without ma

CHAPTER FOUR

CHAPTER FOUR The quest to the north took us up to three days. We used horses to hike the trails of the mountains and stopped from time to time to rest for a while and eat. During the night, half of us would sleep for hours and the other half would guard the dark. We also passed by some groups of people living in the dark side of the mountains along the way. Lucky for us that we didn't encounter those groups that were aggressive and territorial. After the long nights and the tiring days, we finally arrived to the place. It was located across a river. The camp was busy. It was a sight of people doing their assigned task, they were busy working but were happy. I saw wide variety of fruits and vegetables in the field. There were those who were feeding the animals and watering the plants. Some were cooking in the big pots and others were blowing fires under it. Cloths were hanging outside and children were playing.&nb

CHAPTER FIVE

CHAPTER FIVE Kuya Zouli took me to the camp’s headquarter and training center. The place was meters away from the camp’s heart. It was filled with training materials and equipments, with obstacles around the ground and some weapons hanging by the sides. It was not the first time I entered the camp’s headquarter.  This would probably be the fifth or the sixth time, but I was here before for the reason of bringing packed foods for the trainees. I patiently waited for Kuya Zouli to spill the reason why I was brought here but he didn’t even talk to me along the way. He was just ignoring me. He would always treat me like I was some kind of dirt in his shoe. ”Morning, Amara!” some greeted me when they saw us walking. “Morning too! Don’t forget your lunch.” I greeted back. I was like a parrot repeating its words again and again every time we encountered someone al

CHAPTER SIX

CHAPTER SIX A grand wall made of hard rocks amused me upon reaching the marvelous Calla Palace. The wall was high, it was mighty and intimidating. It was exactly what my mother described. It screamed power and royalty. Royal guards were guarding at the entrance of the main gate and people outside it were busy. The main gate was filled with gold and silver. A large peacock was engraved at its center. Flags were also spread outside. “Identification, please.” One of the guards asked me as I approached close to the gate. “Faisa Montanier of Malieth, one of the newly hired cooks for the event.” I stated as I handed them the royal document that proves that I was truly summoned inside the palace, alongside with the folded apron that Kuya Zouli gave me few nights ago. Our group scattered around, we planned to enter the palace at different times. Some of us were al

CHAPTER SEVEN

CHAPTER SEVEN “Surprised?” the princess, who was really a witch, uttered. She then laughed wickedly and it sounded annoying to the ears. “How-“ that was the only word that came out from my lips. I was cut short after three royal guards came to me. They were armored and were holding swords. I looked back to where Master Dante was. He fell on his knees with his blood still dropping. Our members were with him, kneeling and all were badly injured. Augustos’ men were encircling them and pointing their swords towards their head. “Arrest her!” the wicked witch ordered her men. I breathed in and out. I charged my strength onto my hand blade. I should trust myself. I trained for months. The first guard tried to strike me with his sword. I barely escaped his first attempt and on his second I managed to make a cut some

CHAPTER EIGHT

CHAPTER EIGHT I closed my eyes tightly, waiting for something to happen. Our nose touched. His breathing caressed my pale skin. It was tickling but I kept up with it. His lips were moist and soft, like the muffins at our bakery store. It was warm but the light touch immediately sent chills down to every bit of my being. My heart went insane. It was pounding like crazy. I forbade myself from breathing for the moment. I remained unmoving for a second or two before deciding to press mine to his a little bit deeper.  T-this should be enough, right? No need to m-move, right? “The bride finally kissed the Goblin!” Excitements and joy filled the four corners of the room. It was like a dream come true for them.  But after another couple of seconds, nothing seemed to happen. I withdrew from the kiss. I finally was able to gasp a pinch of air.  His eyes were still closed, his handsome face remained

CHAPTER NINE

CHAPTER NINE  As soon as the cells were opened, we ran our way out. The assigned guards to the underground prison were still sleeping heavily. Augustos was still unaware of our breakout. Together with the old captives and the rest of the campers, we climbed up the walls and made it to the forest. This must be the forest where Mother and Aunt Agatha run to escape the palace and save our lives. Fafaniya was still flying beside me. She was glowing in the dark like those fireflies in the woods, except for her shining dusts. The night breeze was cold and the forest was filled with mist coming from above.                              Amethyst who was struggling from her injured leg was being supported by my petite body. Her arm was p
