Chapter 6. Wolfsbane

[Few Months Later]

Ember's pov…

I stared intently at the couple who tried to hide their newborn, they were so shaky as they kept their child on the ground and covered the child with grass.

They looked badly injured and worn already, they were both covered in blood stains making me wonder what must have happened to them.

Not long after they hid their baby, they got surrounded by numerous guards, they were close to fifty in number.

All these numerous guards against just two persons?

I could feel how scared the couples were but they tried so hard to be confident.

They moved away from the spot they hid their child and began fighting with the guards.

I was surprised at their strength and skills but they received numerous sword slash that were weighing them down but they were so consistent and weren't ready to give up yet.

I guess they were trying so hard to stay alive for their child.

After close to thirty minutes of a hot fight, the couples were able to bring down half of the guards but were overpowered when they both fell and the guards began stabbing them repeatedly without warning.

I felt goosebump as they stabbed them at each part of their body without pity.

I screamed for them to stop because the sight was getting so irritating and horrible.

No one heard my voice and I couldn't even move from where I was watching the scene. I felt like something was holding back and I had no control over myself at that moment.

The loud growl coming from the couples penetrated into my ears and I felt so heartbroken wishing I could hear.

As if stabbing them like they were meat wasn't enough, I watched them burn the couples into ashes.

I was  grief-stricken as I watched the detestable scene.

Whatever crime they must have committed, they don't deserve such cruel death.

Just a single stab in their heart was enough to take their life but they kept butchering them like animals while making them suffer so much pain.

The most annoying part of it all was that I couldn't do anything other than just watch as everything unfolds.

Luckily, they didn't know about the baby the late couple hid. I feel so bad for the innocent poor baby.

The guards left after ensuring the couples they set on fire were burnt to ashes.

I feel so horrible for having to watch something like this, how can I get this out of my head?

I couldn't even lend them a single help, it wasn't my fault, I tried to but it feels like my feet were glued to the ground.

I was still watching and morning came, the child began crying so loudly.

I wanted to pick up the child but I couldn't just move from where I was.

The loud cries of the innocent baby infiltrated into my ears and I prayed someone would show up and have mercy on the child. If not, I might as well watch the baby cry and starve to death.

All of a sudden, a middle aged woman finds the child at where she was hidden and I felt at peace because the woman looked like one who had good intentions.

She carried the child and began looking around wondering who must have abandoned the child there.

And just then, I caught a glimpse of her face and I was more than surprised.

She is the same woman who owns the orphanage I grew up in!!!

At that moment of realization, my vision slowly became blurry and I slowly drifted back to human world

I opened my eyes, breathing heavily like one who just participated in a thousand meter race.

So it was all a dream or should I say a revelation?

I looked around the room I was in and felt too weak to even sit up or lift any part of my body, I just moved my eyeballs.

What happened? Where was I?

Why do I feel like I have been asleep for a long while?

I felt my small baby bump and sighed heavily, I could see that my baby was resting pretty in my womb.

As I tried to sit up, I felt the opening of the door and I immediately sensed that it was Rihanna!

I didn't know how I knew she was the one but I felt her presence and that evil aura that lingers around her.

Suddenly, I felt a sharp migraine and I shut my eyes tightly as memories of what happened rushed in.

Starting from the time I stepped out with Rihanna, the time I learnt that she was fooling me, the time she started hitting me and tried to get rid of my unborn child.

I then passed out because I was terrified after she shifted into her wolf form.

I woke in the midst of strangers and then I found out the bitch sold me off to another pack.

I could remember how I suffered in that pack and I almost got sacrificed not until I got awakened and then I killed all those standing against me before passing out.

I don't remember what happened afterwards and how I was brought back to Sebastian's pack because I could feel I was home.

“I'm finally getting rid of you, it was a long wait and I've sacrificed a lot just to be able to do this.” Rihanna suddenly says thinking I was still unconscious because I was shutting my eyes.

I had to pretend that I was still unconscious so as to know what she was planning to do to me.

“I'm not sorry I'm taking your life but it's better you go rest with the moon goddess, you don't belong here and you've never belonged here.

I think I warned you numerous times and gave you numerous chances to run away quietly but you refused to.

You are the dumbest person I've ever come across, how do you expect me to leave Sebastian for you and also still be friends with you? How is that possible or you're not aware that I hate you more than my enemies? I despise you alot and wish you death all the time.

I've never had a single good intention towards you, I've always thought about squeezing life out of you during the times we were together.” She gave a long speech and I heard her chuckle.

I folded my fist as I tried to suppress my anger, she is just so heartless!

“Well, I tried to get rid of you without having your blood on my hands but it seems you have a stubborn spirit. How did you even manage to escape and fight off more than twenty strongest guards from the Silverton pack?

I feel so intimidated already and I know I'm not going to be safe once you wake up.

You're going to expose everything and that would be ruining and tarnishing my life and image in this pack.

Only the moon goddess knows what would be my fate afterwards, I don't even want to imagine what Sebastian might do to me once you reveal the truth to him.

I can't let that happen, I don't want to be the loser at the end so you just have to leave this earth completely.

Even though I might not have Sebastian all to myself, it's better than seeing you both live happily and live the life I've always dreamed of.”

I got angered by her words and couldn't hold in my anger anymore, so I opened my eyes immediately.

“But I guess you're going to fail again!” I suddenly said and she screamed out in shock.

Before I uttered any other word, she suddenly shoves a syringe into my neck and releases the content in it into my body.

“Die! Die you freaking witch!” She screamed out and immediately the content of what she injected me with was released into my body. I began to feel so high and I was shocked to see my skin color getting darkened.

I tried  to yell but I coughed out blood instead, my breath began to seize slowly.

Rihanna suddenly runs out leaving me to struggle for life.

I stood up immediately and rushed to the window, I poked my head out and tried inhaling but nothing was working.

The bleeding got worse and my head was turning upside down already.

I began hitting my chest trying to calm myself down, what did Rihanna do to me!!!

After a few minutes of struggling with my life, I slowly began breathing properly and the bleeding stopped, my skin color also began to return back to its normal color.

I exhaled sharply as I fell back on my bed, what really just happened? What did she inject me with?

I picked up the empty syringe that was laying on the floor and stared at it closely.

That deadly smell hits my nose and I immediately threw the syringe away, did she fucking use a wolfbane on me?

My blood became cold and my throat dried up, no werewolf can actually survive a wolfbane, it's deadly.

I sighed in relief when I realized my wolf overpowered it, I almost forgot that I was awakened fully.

I feel so bad for Rihanna already.

I dashed out of the room that instant and began looking for Rihanna, she is literally a dead meat already!
