Ember's P.O.V.
It's been a month since I left Alfred but the thought of him still made its way into my heart and I couldn't help but miss him and everything we had ever done.
Being a mother was always what I wanted and Alfred would have been the best father ever but seems like destiny keeps playing with my thoughts, but I've decided to end this today, sleeping with a man once does not guarantee a baby and I will not sleep around and get my heart broken again.
That was it. In the twenty-first century, having a baby without sleeping with a man was very possible. I took a 'u' turn as I drove along the street that led to the hospital.
My heartbeat pounded as fast as possible, and I would have sworn that I could hear it from my ear, but I knew too well that was a lie, and I was just nervous but why the hell was I…
“Miss Winston.” my thoughts were interrupted by the doctor's voice and I looked at her with a small smile.
I had scheduled an appointment for artificial insemination this morning, but I was the one shivering in fear for reasons I didn't even know. I've always wanted this but was I ready for this?
“Hi, Doc Georgia.”
“I'm going to ask a few questions before this starts, is that alright?” I nod gently while looking at her and burying my nail deep within my skin, “... Pregnancy is not something easy, and for insemination, that's a lot harder to take in than you can imagine. Are you sure you would rather not adopt a baby, I mean….”
“I don't. I get what pregnancy is and I want my baby to be from my blood. I know what I'm getting myself into so do me a favour and cut the crappy question and just do what needs to get done.” I laid back letting my entire body face the white ceiling not wanting to get a glimpse of what she looked like right now.
“Let's begin then.” She cleared her throat and I slowly but steadily fell into a deep slumber as she injected me with a certain liquid I couldn't put a name on.
After what seemed to be hours, my eyes flew open and a blurry sight met with my vision. It almost seemed impossible to see, but after several minutes my vision was back to normal, and I was staring at Georgia with a pounding heart.
“It's all done, and you're free to go home.” A sigh left my mouth as the joy burst through every vein in my body.
Finally! I was going to be a mother.
“Thank you so much.” I placed my hands against my stomach as I rubbed it gently. It's going to be one hell of a journey, but it will certainly be all worth it when I have a baby in my hands.
Without having to think much I dressed and left the hospital as I was famished, but my ringing tone filled the beautiful air in the car which made me confused, but I got more confused when Georgia's name made its appearance on the caller's ID.
Did I forget something there?
“Hello?” My voice came rather in the form of a question than a greeting.
“There's a problem with the pregnancy.” I immediately paused the car, completely ignoring the brazier car horns from everywhere.
“What do you mean by there's a problem? You asked me to leave and everything was fine, why didn't you double-check it?”
“You don't want to hold this conversation over the phone, you need to get here now.”
“I…" I didn't get a chance to speak as she hung up, and I swear to God if anything goes wrong with my baby I'm going to commit murder even if I don't know how to.
I got to the hospital with smoke rising from the top of my head, but my attention was caught by Georgia and other doctors talking as I approached them but the look on their faces stated that something was wrong.
“What's going on?” I asked with my heart racing as fast as a jet and I couldn't keep calm when my baby was involved.
“You might want to take a seat.”
“I…" I trailed off considering we were in a hospital and I couldn't yell, so I followed her into her office and shut the door, “... What the hell is going on, Georgia? Did something happen to the baby”
“That's not it. Well…" She breathed out nervously, which spanked every bit of my curiosity and worry at the same time.
“Say it Georgia.”
“You're carrying a man's child. Not a donation or anything, but an actual man who wanted to have a child with a certain woman.” My breath ran cold, and I would have sworn that time itself was frozen as I looked at her.
“I'm what?” Those were the one words that came out of my mouth, I couldn't think nor could I comprehend what was going on.
“I'm so sorry Miss Winston, I know we have made such a massive blunder but….”
“But? For fuck’s sake Georgia we were clear with what I wanted, a child I knew nothing about its father and the father I didn't want to know, and you gave me a baby whose father wants a surrogate?”
“I had no idea…"
“It's a damn hospital! A reputable one as a matter of fact, and you make such a hideous mistake… You know what, ask whoever the hell the father is to provide another child for that but as for this one it's as good as gone, and you shouldn't dare to provide any information about me to anyone”
“I'm afraid it's too late, Miss Winston”
Before I could say a single word, the door flew open, and a powerful presence was felt deep within the bones of my body. The horrified look on Georgia's face was wild, but his eyes burned holes behind my head.
“Are you the one with my child?” His questions brought me back to reality and I felt the raging anger with me.
“Well, the child is not yours any…" My words tied within my throat as the air was completely knocked out from my lungs while my eyes captured his deep hazel pupils that could swipe the universe away within a blink.
An electric spark ran through my veins and I would have sworn that a thread was tied through a magnetic field we couldn't see or hear a thing from, but the connection that lingered in the air was far more vast than anything I've ever felt.
“Sebastian Sinclair.”
SEBASTIAN'S P.O.V.“What do you fucking mean, my child is being carried by a woman I don't know?” My voice sounded rather raged than I wanted, but this doesn't concern how I sounded right now. “Sir we are sorry for…"“Cut the fucking crap! It was a freaking clear explanation… I'm coming down there and things better be fucking fixed before I do, you know what's on the damn line Georgia, an alpha's pup must not linger among humans!” I threw the phone away from my sight as my knuckles turned white. The urge to kill for losing a valuable part of me was so close as I dashed through my office door, and I could see the clear sight of horror in my staff's eyes, but I didn't care right now.“To the hospital, immediately.” Without asking anything else, he drove off at the speed of light, he knew too well I could kill him if he messed up.Being the most powerful alpha and running the biggest companies in the world of humans was not a task every man apart from 'Sebastian Sinclair' could handle,
Ember'S P.O.V.Pissed will be an understatement of how I felt, who the hell does he think he is?I crashed upon the soft couch in the living room as my day was mentally exhausting and all I wanted to do was eat and sleep but the thought of that man barging into this living room scared me to death.I needed to be somewhere safe, completely out of his hold, and staying in this living room on a damn couch was not it, hell! Staying in this country itself was not it for me. I needed to leave as fast as possible for my and my baby's safety.Without thinking I went to the kitchen to make a quick meal, I might have been nervous but I was not ready to lose all my shit because I refused to feed my baby or myself. As soon as I was done I packed the few important things I needed for the next few months, till I was sure I was safe but then the rest of the things I didn't mind buying them. I booked a flight to New York immediately I was lucky because booking a last-minute flight was close to imposs
Ember'S P.O.V.Two weeks had passed by and I still couldn't believe I was living in the world of werewolves or that they even existed. Sebastian had told me everything and how things were done here, but he never said why he called his second half and I couldn't ask anyone about it. My baby was all that mattered, and I didn't care if I was a breeder to a man I despised, but it would all be worth it in the end. I was not going to let my child go because of him.I headed towards the dining table and like I expected he was already sitting there with his hands clamped together like a shell I wished it could remain like that forever but a man whose gaze was enough to make my body shiver wouldn't let that happen.“You're late.”“It's not my fault that the baby is growing two times bigger than it should be.” I wanted to take a seat directly opposite him, but he tapped a chair next to him forcing my movement to charge towards his direction.I hated that he had that effect on me, the will to o
[Few Months Later]Ember's pov…I stared intently at the couple who tried to hide their newborn, they were so shaky as they kept their child on the ground and covered the child with grass. They looked badly injured and worn already, they were both covered in blood stains making me wonder what must have happened to them. Not long after they hid their baby, they got surrounded by numerous guards, they were close to fifty in number. All these numerous guards against just two persons? I could feel how scared the couples were but they tried so hard to be confident. They moved away from the spot they hid their child and began fighting with the guards. I was surprised at their strength and skills but they received numerous sword slash that were weighing them down but they were so consistent and weren't ready to give up yet.I guess they were trying so hard to stay alive for their child. After close to thirty minutes of a hot fight, the couples were able to bring down half of the guards b
Author's pov…As soon as Rihanna rushed out of the room, she met Sebastian who was about to go in. She grabbed his hands and pulled him to the nearest terrace while breathing heavily.“What's the matter? Did you see something strange?” Sebastian asked, noticing how tense she was looking . Rihanna couldn't even make any sensible words as she was still so shaken. She never expected to wake up all of a sudden, she began wondering if the wolfbane is really going to work on her. She began regretting while she went in at that particular time, it would be over for her once Ember is able to survive to wolfbane. “Did I inject her well? I hope she doesn't survive it, please accept her spirit moon goddess.” Rihanna prayed silently, she was so nervous and scared. “Rihanna! I'm talking to you, I'm sure you saw something that freaked you out right?” Sebastian asked her again and she suddenly smiled which was obviously fake.“Don't give me that smile, I'm not dumb, you suddenly pulled me in here
Ember's pov…I didn't want Sebastian to leave my side for a second and just kept on clinging to him like glue. I feel so glad to feel his warmth again, I feel so safe being in his arms once again.Rihanna has been chained and locked up in the pack prison, she deserves more but the punishments I have in store for her will be unleashed on her bit by bit. I still can't believe she tried to kill me with a wolfbane while I was even still unconscious, she badly just wanted to get rid of me. I'm so grateful to the moon goddess for protecting me, I almost gave up at some point but I had to keep going and remain strong for the child I was carrying.I was also glad that my child was in a good position, the moon goddess really wants my unborn child to live. I could have lost the child on so many occasions but I guess luck was on my side. “I feel so angry at myself for allowing you to go through such a hard phase together, I'm so sorry my queen.”This is literally the twentieth time he is sayi
Ember's pov…Suddenly, I had a vision and I saw how Rihanna came here and she engaged in a fight with Matilda. I didn't hear anything as the vision appeared like numerous pages were being flipped within seconds. The part that shocked me the most was when Rihanna ripped out Matilda's heart with her claws. Just then, Sebastian's voice brought me back to reality.“What were you thinking? Did you suddenly fall asleep, I got scared for a bit!” Sebastian scolded me and I kept staring at him, still shaken by what I just saw.Could it be truly a vision or just my mere imagination? Hell no! I can't imagine something as horrible as that! “Did you see something? Why are you suddenly quiet? You looked shocked,” “I just saw something Sebastian and it's scaring the hell out of me.” I muttered and my voice obviously sounded shaky. It's my first time experiencing something like this so I wasn't sure if it was real or not. “Calm down, what did you see? We are together and I didn't see anything,”
Ember pov My heart raced as I ran out of the cell, my ears kept denying what I just heard but truth be told, that beast has killed Matilda and it's all my fault. The vision I had earlier kept replaying in my head, causing me to panic, Sebastian has to know. I rushed into the mansion and Sebastian couldn't help but noticed how anxious I was "Emy what happened?" He asked as he came to stand beside me. His arms wrapped around my shoulders as he pulled me closer, Ryan and some others pack members were there already. "Seb…it's Rihanna, she killed Matilda" I trembled. Growls and gasps could be heard from the other members present in the room. I could see how seb's expression immediately changed from concern to anger. "What?! How'd you know?" "Remember the vision I had this morning? It was about Rihanna. She engaged Matilda in a fight and ripped her heart out with her claws…Sebastian she just told me herself…" I paused as I tried to reorganize my thoughts. "She just co
