Chapter 1

Chapter One

Clarissa POV

I looked through the window and listened to make sure no one was coming.

I quickly gathered a few of my belongings, threw them in the bag, and quickly made a run for them.

The moon goddess knew why he gave me this opportunity to escape this hell hole, and I will use it effectively. I practically ran down the stairs, grateful for my strength and stamina, even though I was only five feet tall.

The building was a four-story building that was painted gold and purple, for reasons best known to Alpha Clay.

Once I got to the last stairs, I paused and waited to hear the movement of the guards.

My stepfather stationed guards to make sure I didn't go anywhere since he just brought me out of the prison cell where he locked me after I fought with Miranda because she spit in my food.

It was like riding a rollercoaster living with my family, from starvation to humiliation because I was much smarter than her daughter and more beautiful, like the pack members pointed out.

My name is Calissa, the stepdaughter of Alpha Clay, the alpha of Shadow Pack, and Luna Elizabeth.

Alpha Clay married my mother, who was his mate and was already pregnant with me the day he found her in the woods, wounded and at the point of death. Although he took us both in, I wished he had not done that because I had to endure humiliation like no one else had because of that. And that usually went on without my mother saying a word in my defense.

I sometimes wonder what my real dad must have done to her to warrant the way she treated me, but she has never really spoken a word about him and slapped me the day I asked her about him. Even though Miranda loved to remind me how useless my father was in abandoning me in front of her sometimes.

I have two other stepsiblings, Miranda and Kurt.

Miranda is a spoiled brat who wishes to have everything I have, even though I do not have much. She once wore a lovely gown that was gifted to me by a friend to school, just because she did not want me to wear it to the pack gathering. So I would not be more beautiful than her. As for Kurt, he was not so bad, but he hardly talked to anyone; he was all about minding his business.

I quickly tiptoed out of the door. I stood by the corridor and counted the guards that were guarding the pack house after the Alpha and his wife left with some for some Alpha meetings.

There were not many, and none of them was guarding the pack entrance of the pack house. Clay would probably never think that I would try to run away from home, but after the beating I received the last time, I think I should go rogue.

I took a deep breath and tiptoed past the first post since there was no one there, then diverted to the entrance. I held my back well and made the run for it because it would not be long before they discovered that I was gone. Alpha Clay liked to keep his little maid, who served his family and also received praise for keeping me even though I was not his family.

I dashed into the forest, making sure that no one was following me.

The border between our pack and the next one is just 5 kilometers away. I was already tired before I could get to it, but I kept running because being found by my family was not an option for me.

As I got closer to the border of Crystal Lake Pack, I could smell a lot of scents here, which was somehow since I was not at the border yet. I slowed down and searched around before I saw the shadow of a kid and followed her to an opening. There were about six rogues there, and none of them were talking; it looked like they were hiding from something.

I was about to turn back when I felt a cold metal on my neck, and the knife reeked of wolfsbane. I sucked in my breath, then turned immediately and knocked the knife out of his hands. But when I turned around, up to ten wolves were advancing towards me. so I raised my hand.

"Look, I do not want trouble; I am just trying to reach Crystal Lake Pack."

"Name?" One of them asked me.

I was about to say Clarissa, but then I remembered that one of them may have beef with his father and may decide to take it out on me.

"Josephine, an Omega from Shadow Pack," I answered.

One of them scoffed, but they lowered the weapons.

"You fight quite well for an Omega. Tell me, Josephine. Why are you running away?"

"Alpha Clay is trying to marry me off to one of the elder's sons, and he is not the kind of person you would want to marry unless you want to commit suicide."

"That is better than being given as a peace treaty." One of the wolves chipped in.

"Silence Anna," the one who has been asking the questions, He must be their leader.

"Well, going to Crystal Lake is not a good idea now; they are collecting people to be used as a treaty with the Supreme Pack."

"Supreme Pack?"

Everyone knew the Supreme Pack; it was one of the biggest packs ever ruled by Alpha Stephan, who is known to be ruthless and cold. Whenever someone offends him, the pack is expected to give them a peace treaty of their choice or be destroyed. Alpha Clay currently has a problem with them.

"Thank you for the information; I wouldn't go near that pack anymore."

The man smiled weirdly before he nodded. "You are welcome to stay with us."

I shook my head and said, "Thank you, but my staying will only mean trouble."

The men cleared from my pack, and while looking at them with my side eye, I left the place and started running east, trying to cross to another border instead of going to Crystal Lake Pack.

It started to rain after a few minutes, and I found a deserted house and hid there, waiting for the right time to move.

I masked my scent so that they could not find me that easily, and once it was night, I couldn't sleep for fear of someone grabbing me once I fell asleep.

I forced myself to stay awake throughout the night as I listened for footsteps. Eventually,  morning came and sleep came along with it. I was sleeping soundly when I felt a hand on my neck. I tried  to jump and start fighting, but I felt something on my nose, and then a deep voice whispered, "You are wasting your time, love." Before I blacked out,

Good story and interesting characters so far. But the grammar/writing can make it very hard to follow, bc you don't know who is talking most of the time - can definitely be a little frustrating and confusing

Chapter Two
I opened my eyes. I was in some sort of moving cage, and my legs were tied up because I could not move them. I managed to sit up and then looked around. I was in a silver cage, and we were being moved by someone. I recognized one of the men in the cage with me—the one who told me about Supreme Pack earlier. I coughed, bringing their attention to me. "Where are we going? Who took us?" He scoffed. "How long are you going to keep on the pretense, Clarissa Clay? You and your pack members are all liars." I was about to apologize for getting them caught, but then the other man said. "I told you, Robert, not to take the money and agree to show them where the girl is because they looked like they would not keep the end of the bargain." "This is all because of this stupid girl; I am now a prisoner. Her pack members are murderers; they can all burn in hell." I burst into laughter. "And you are not? A liar and murderer, you call me and my family, but you took money and agreed to sell me t

Chapter Three
I was shocked to the marrow; everyone was looking at me. I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. I could feel Stephan's brother smirking at that asshole. I imagined that I would be dragged outside and probably shot to death or even killed for throwing up on the almighty Alpha. The whole place was as silent as a graveyard.I wanted to cry out of fear of what would happen to me. I opened my mouth to plead for mercy when a blow landed on my face. I fell as blood oozed from my lips. I looked up at the person who landed the blow on me.It was no other person but my mother; she grabbed my hair and cursed at me. "You insolent, stupid, useless child, when will you ever learn to behave? I should take you out and have your tongue cut out for your insolence."she said as she grabbed my chin and squeezed with force. She kneeled to apologize out of fear, as did everybody, for they did not know what their faith would be with what I did.I heard her say, "I am sorry for the disgrace, A

I did not have any appetite to eat, and I certainly did not care to sit near the arrogant wuss.I won't ever forgive them; the final straw was them giving me away. After all, I did to get her to like me, she still treated me like a piece of sh*t.I rubbed my hands in my face, cleaning the snort and tears.I wanted to take a shower, but there was no way in hell I was going naked inside this room, mate or not.I lay on the bed. I was half asleep when water rained on me.I jerked up, shocked and confused by what was happening. My clothes were soaked to the brim.I looked up to see the culprit so that I could unleash hell on the person. I saw him glaring at me, the bucket in his hands. I was beyond mad.I wanted to slap his stupid handsome face, but knowing where I was and who he was, I would rather not."I ordered you to eat, but you defiled my order; how dare you!" he roared.Okay, who the hell does this asshole think he is to order me ar

Chapter Five
I stood there shocked, forcing my brain to process what was happening.I turned to look at the face of my tormentor, the one who made me question whether I deserved to live.I was too mortified to speak. It is written on her face that she is enjoying this; she has a smirk on her face, and I want nothing more than to wipe the smirk off her face.In my mind, I tried processing what brought her here.I was curious to know what her mission here is.Did Clay send her? Are they trying to monitor my movement?I wanted answers to the questions on my mind.Let's find out what this witch wanted.I cleared my throat and asked the one question that was on my mind. "What are you doing here? Why are you here?""Did Dad send you? Was it mom?""You mean, my dad? It seems that you are confused about who your father is Clarissa. I don't blame you, poor Clarissa, born out of wedlock, without her daddy," she taunted in her baby-like voice, a voice that I loathed so much."For all you know, he might be a

Chapter Six
Alpha Terror, Chapter SixI was petrified by the raw power that pushed him down.I turned to see my mate snarling at Liam. His eyes were red, showing that his wolf had taken over. "How dare you go near my mate, Beta? Do you dare to hurt her? He grabbed him by the collar and threw him against the wall. Liam landed on the wall with another heavy thud. He punched him, breaking the wall with him on it.He punched him again and again until he bled. He held him by the throat, squeezing it as if to snuff life out of him."Please, let him go alpha!" Miranda screamed. He spurned around, roaring at her. Miranda averted her eyes, bending her neck in submission. I struggled to get up so that I could stop him from making the greatest mistake of his life, but my broken bones were not helping me. If he is not his brother, I won't even move a muscle. I was hurt and in pain too. "Stop please!" I pleaded with him."You will kill him."He paused for a moment, looking at me. With a look of h

You know that this area is restricted when we are having a meeting."I decided to play it smart.I refused to say anything."I am talking to you, Luna."I feign ignorance, "Oh I thought you were talking to my dear sister, I did not know you were addressing me."From his expression, I could tell that my answer made him angry. He was about to say something when Stephan cut him off."Pup, why are you both here?" he asked. We looked at each other, I could tell from the look in her eyes that she was distressedIt is time to put my acting skills to the test.I put on my face the expression of someone distressed," Alpha, I wanted to speak to my sister on something important."" My heart flew when I heard that.We quickly hid, masking our scent with a spell, being careful not to be seen by the guard."I thought you said that no one else apart from Alpha and your mate knew this area," I whispered."Yes, no one except them.""Who is that, then?""It must be that guards have been stationed there by the alpha because of the pure breeds."The guard walked around the place while shining the torch he was carrying. He extended his search to the dark areas, being very careful to know the source of the disturbance. We had to find a well-covered area to hide in order not to be discovered. We waited till he was satisfied with his search and left before we came out of the hiding spot."Don't you dare say anything to anyone; if you do, I will kill you in a slow, painful way.""You know what I am capable of; Daddy is not here to save you," I warned. She did not say a word; that would have made me suspicious of her, but it didn't because I was desperate to leave.I ran the ot
