Alpha King Uthar greeted Alpha King Rogan at the front of the pack house with a nervous laugh, “I'm sorry about Nina, she's still young at heart and is yet to see the world” he said. If Nina had been here, Uthar wouldn't have thought twice about punishing her for embarrassing him in front of Rogan. He didn't expect her to try to run away.
“It's alright, she's an interesting little mate” Rogan commented with a slight smile. He was intrigued by her twelve years ago and she still captured his interest twelve years later with her persistence on freedom. But adding to the fact that she was his mate, he wasn't going to acquiesce to her request anytime soon. Alpha king Uthar could of course not miss the smile on Rogan's face, “Mate? She's your true mate?” he asked in shock. To think that that useless girl was Rogan's mate, if he had known he would have been more hospitable to her. He could guess that was why Rogan was interested in her all those years ago. “Yes. Anyway, our deal has finally been completed and the pack lands officially belong to you. As for the rogues, we have not heard of them in years, it's like they vanished into thin air which is very strange” Rogan said with a little frown. The rogue issue bothered him, his instincts told him that the threat wasn't completely gone and that was what he feared. He had sent scouts to go beyond the woods and search for any signs of rogues and they came back with nothing. Where could they have disappeared with no trace or scent? “We, unfortunately, can't do much at the moment except wait, but we will continue to improve our warriors and arms so that we can be ready at all times,” Alpha King Uthar said. With the traumatic war years ago, Uthar dreaded a repeat of that again, he could only wish they never come back again. “Yeah, you are right. I'll be taking my leave now” Alpha King Rogan said. They exchanged farewells and Rogan returned to his pack. He walked into the pack house and went up to check up on Nina but when he arrived at his room he met Luke and Nina arguing. “What's going on here?” He asked in a sharp tone that shut them up quickly. “I brought Nina to your room and she refuses to settle in,” Luke explained. “I told you before, you don't own me and I don't want to stay here. I was brought here against my wish and I will definitely not be settling in the same room with you” Nina ranted out, frustratedly. Rogan's eyebrows raised at her stubbornness. He was well aware of his looks, no woman had ever rejected him instead they were ready to throw themselves at him at any given opportunity. But Nina was different, she knew she was his mate and was still so adamant about leaving. He was confused that he couldn't understand her. “Luke, leave!” Rogan ordered. “Yes, Alpha king” Luke responded and left immediately. Rogan walked up to the door, shut it and locked it, then he looked at a terrified Nina. “Wh…what are y..you doing?” Nina stammered, her eyes widened in fear. Rogan didn't respond, instead, he prowled towards her like a predator approaching his prey. The closer he came the further Nina went, she kept backing up till her back hit the wall. “D…Don't come a..any close..er” Nina warned but Rogan ignored her. He only stopped when he was a few inches away from her. He breathed in her intoxicating scent, their proximity caused Nina to freeze on the spot. He brought his mouth to her ear and asked, “Can you feel that?” his husky voice caused her to feel butterflies and her legs jelly. He chuckled seeing her reaction, he was pleased to see that the mate bond affected her just as much as him. Nina, seeing him chuckle, regained her senses and attempted to push him away but before her hands reached him, he caught them and pinned them on the wall above her head. Nina gasped with wide eyes and Rogan said, “Tsk tsk tsk… such a stubborn little mate. I'll have to teach you a lesson so you understand never to resist me” “Please let me go… please” Nina pleaded, a little scared and admittedly a little turned on. No man had come this close to her before and it made her feel vulnerable. “Why should I let you go? You are my mate after all, how long do you think you can resist me?” Rogan asked. He felt challenged that such a little girl could resist his charms when other women would kill him to be his mate. He wanted to break her and make her submit, only then can he assert his dominance. Nina didn't answer, she continued to look at him defiantly like her decision wouldn't change no matter what he did but inside she was a mess, the proximity was making her feel things that she didn't want to feel. Just then a knock came from the other side of the door and a woman's voice could be heard. “Alpha King Rogan, sorry to disturb you but your attention is needed” Nina stopped herself from sighing in relief, she was saved by the door at a timely moment. Rogan released her hands and said loudly, “I'll be right out in a minute” Then he eyed Nina and said, “Consider yourself lucky today. You are not allowed to leave this room, this is your room from now on and that's an order. Disobey me if you are curious about what I can do” He said in a firm voice before storming out. Nina let out a breath that she didn't know she was holding and slid to the ground to relax her tensed nerves. Resisting and fighting him for her freedom was going to be even harder than she thought.Rogan's ears pricked as the distant sounds of pursuit sharpened their grip on his senses - the rapid footfalls that thudded against the forest floor like heavy hammers, the low growls that echoed through the trees like a primal symphony, and the fluttering heartbeat of the prey, a frantic drumbeat against the backdrop of the night. The dim moonlight filtered through the canopy of trees, casting ominous shadows across the forest floor. A damp, earthy scent permeated the cool night air, a stark reminder of the primal world he was about to enter. His wolf, a creature of instinct and power, stirred restlessly under his skin. Responding to the primal call, Rogan closed his eyes, surrendering to the transformation that would unleash the beast within. A ripple coursed through his body as muscles tensed, bones rearranged themselves, and skin yielded to a coat of thick, velvety fur. Rogan felt the power coursing through his veins, his bones cracking and popping like thunder as they adjust
Alpha Rogan stood before her. Her mate, the man she had thought she would outrun forever before she was caught in a trap by the menacing beast that almost hurt her right before she was rescued. Although she didn’t know what the creature wanted from her, but it did jeopardize her desperate attempt to escape. His transformation from beast back to man was complete, and Nina felt a wave of relief wash over her. As soon as her small hand touched his, Rogan sucked in a sharp breath, startled by the sudden warmth blooming in his chest. Gently, Rogan lifted Nina's exhausted body into his arms. Holding her so close filled him with a surreal yet undeniable longing to protect this woman. With Nina safely in his arms, Rogan turned and headed back towards their home, his wolf instincts still on high alert, but his heart filled with the warmth of his mate's presence. Nina, nestled against his chest and felt a surge of strength return to her body, knowing that she was safe with her mate, the alpha w
CHAPTER 8Usually, for werewolves, the forest is meant to be a safe haven. The air and overall atmosphere of the forest had a calming effect. Although the forest might smell like damp moss, rain, wet tree trunks, flowers and, the occasional, animal faeces—it was nature, a place of rest. But for Nina, the forest seemed like a cage. One she had consciously stepped into. All her sense were heightened as she tried her best to hide in this cage. Any spot that seemed secluded and hidden, she dove straight into it.A dark and grimy cave was cleverly hidden under an edge by nature. It was a small but deep cave. It’s entrance was covered with wet leaves with sponge-like mosses on them. There was a strong stench of damp moss in this area as the entire vicinity outside of the cave was covered with it.This was the perfect spot for Nina to hide. It was a place that was close to the Mountain pack house. Too close. But Nina had already reasoned that she couldn’t and wouldn’t get far with her condit
Nina was starting to think Alpha Rogan was on drugs. A strange but valid thought for her situation. After being sent away by Rogan, she returned to the room to have a long bath, she was covered in sweat, mud and moss. It took a while before she was satisfied with her scrubbing. After she washed up, she wore clean clothes. She looked at the rough but clean outfit she had on. She didn’t have that many clothes and they were all old. Although her previous Alpha was her uncle, she was no different from a maid, so most of the time, she was always wearing a maid costume. She sighed. Before she could think about it anymore, Alpha Rogan walked in with roses and a gift bag in hand. Nina blinked at him.‘is he here to punish me? But with roses?’ Nina thought as she peered at him with curiosity brimming in her orbs. Until Rogan stretched out his hand to give her these things, Nina could only stare numbly at him.“What…?” She asked.“These are for you. You must be tired, have you had something to
The once-hot atmosphere immediately chilled the moment the intruder walked in.It was Luke.Everything suddenly turned awkward afterwards. Nina couldn’t look into Luke’s eyes, she suddenly felt a huge wave of embarrassment as her face blushed red. Nina quickly moved out of Rogan’s reach and took multiple steps back. Her movements alerted Rogan. Rogan glared daggers at Luke who was still standing awkwardly by the door. The glare sent shivers down Luke’s spine, he immediately gained his wits.“I apologize, Alpha. I did not mean to disturb you. Please forgive me. Excuse me.” With that, Luke ran out of the room. He didn’t forget to close the door when he left. Behind him, he left a still awkward air.‘I can not believe this. I had originally thought she would be different from those pick-me girls in the pack that would throw themselves on Alpha Rogan. But it seems she is no different.’ Luke quickly walked down the halls, it seemed like he was fleeing from a crime scene.‘She is too weak a
With the commotion that was brimming outside Nina’s room, there was no way she would be able to sleep through it. She had already dozed off but the noise from outside woke her up. Nina drowsily headed for the door to see what all the ruckus was about. It was in the middle of the night, she didn’t expect anyone to be making so much noise, especially with the Alpha’s room being right next to hers. When Nina got outside, she only met Azura. Usually, there would be other guards there, but Azura was the only one there.“Hey Azura, where did the rest go? And why is it so loud, did something happen?” Nina asked, watching as people moved around in the corridors.“There’s been a rogue sighting. The Alpha has given out orders for us.” Azura told her. Nina stiffened at her words.“Rogues?”“Yes. Usually, when this happens, we have protocols we usually adhere to. The young and old move to the safe house which is right by the Alpha’s home. The noise outside is caused by people moving. We also need
The Mountain Pack’s main house doubled as the pack’s main house and their Alpha’s home. It was a big house. Not as big as a regular mansion but bigger than a villa. People would refer to it as a mansion but it was not exactly that. It had just two wide floors. It had the usual oversized rooms but only the master bedroom was built with a walk-in closet. It had an entertainment room, filled with various games. It had a big gym on the first floor. The house also had a large yard. At the front was a large expanse of grass. In the backyard was a beautiful garden. The pack house had been like this for such a long time. The garden was well tended to and beautiful. It was filled with various ornamental plants and trees. At the very edge of the garden, there was a large tree. The garden gave off a surreal air. It made people feel calm. This was why Nina loved the garden. She could find herself here. It was just peaceful. After her talk with Luke, Nina wandered into the garden to clear her head
Nina returned to the garden the next day. The place had a calming effect on her. Despite the trauma.Luke walked up to Nina who was lost in the serenity of the pack palace garden.“Enjoying yourself?” He playfully asked with a broad smile on his gentle face. Nina sends him a small smile back.“It’s just so…” Nina starts, she looks around at the garden with a peaceful expression on, “It is beautiful. Compared to the woods. It gives me peace.”“I can relate. The garden is well tended to. I understand why you would want to be here.” Luke says. Nina hums in response. Silence follows. But it’s a comfortable silence. They both had a nice moment walking in the garden together, but suddenly a loud noise shatters Nina and Luke’s peaceful moment, igniting fear and curiosity. For Nina, it was fear. She flinched when the sound came out. Just the day before, she had been attacked in this very garden. She was still a bit sensitive when it came to loud noises. Luke was not affected by it, he simply
Nights in the Void Area were basically moonless. The sky would be pitch black without stars or the constellations. It was as if the work area had been abandoned by all the celestial bodies. The Moon Goddess did not monitor the happening in the Void Area. It was just an area for chaotic activities to take place without supervision.“There is no God in the Void Area.”A passing sage had once said this before. He claimed that the void area was an area completely filled with demonic beast. All more vicious than the other. But in such a lawless territory, there would definitely be the leader of all these beasts. The strongest of them. The apex predator.“It is called The Colondra. It is a strange monster that rests in the middle of the Void Area. It is always in a deep state of sleep. It might be that it was sealed by a powerful being in the past or that it is just leisurely resting. But one thing is sure, every night of the Blood Moon. It wakes. If it is not disturbed, it will not bother
“You…What are you talking about?” Agnes cautiously asked him.“Oh, are you talking about that thing you sensed when we got here?” Rex casually asked. This made Agnes even more confused. They had noticed something when they got here? Did that strange pressure also affect them? But what is this about a beast?“Yeah,” Jax replied.“You said it was really big. How big is it?” Axel asked him.Jax hummed for a minute. “Bigger than this dungeon but I’d say it’s as big as the upper structure of the entire building. It feels dangerous as well. Very. It keeps releasing a lot of pressure. It obviously seemed dissatisfied with the existence of people above it. I don’t know what kind of beast it is but it’s not a good idea to be so close to it. It’s right underneath us…”“Wait a minute! Do you mean to say that there is some kind of beast under us? Then why hasn’t it moved?” Agnes asked in a panic. If what Jax had said was true, then they could be killed at any moment. The beast was strong enough t
Agnes was quiet. Her eyes widened in shock. She looked up at the prison cell window. The door of the cell was completely covered except for the small barred window. She uncontrollably stared at the window, as if she would just naturally be able to see the person who had been talking to her. Agnes was not expecting anyone to respond to her. Or rather, she had not been expecting anyone to be there to listen to her. The guards were gone and she had never heard or imagined that another prisoner would be brought here, especially due to the location of the prison. It was a different place than where she had been locked up before she met with Nina. Previously, she had been in a dungeon with there being many more prisoners. But this time, for some reason, Thorin had decided to keep her locked up in the dungeons that were located in the Void Area. It was a three-cell small dungeon that was located under a small cabin in the middle of the Void Area. It was a basement space of the small cabin t
Nina was speechless at the end of the whole vision.“Unbelievable. Honestly.” She said to herself. It really was unbelievable. The reason for the Werewolf and Lycan feud was because of her past life and her retarded uncle? Such generational hatred was sourced from such a thing. Nina knew if she ever told anyone this, they would not believe her. So many theories of what might have caused our feuds had popped up over the years. The truth was far more simple than one would think.Nina understood that it was hard for someone to deal with grief so she was not undermining the feelings of the two boys, but still, she wondered how dogmatic the villagers were to just follow along with the separation.Nina could only sigh at the end. It seemed that this was the reality of it. Nina thought about it and she realized that Thorin’s death seemed a little strange. He has died with so much malice. Nina had seen a few other people die accordingly and she would always see their souls see to beautifully
“Nina, calm down.” Rogan had been listening closely. The truth about the situation was more ridiculous than he had expected. So many people had died because a power hungry man believed his greedy sorceress so much. And in the end, it would all be for nothing?Rogan could feel Nina’s mood change. First, he needed to help her manage her emotions for now.“I understand but-“ Nina tried to calm down but she really couldn’t. She felt scared and angry. Scared for her children’s life and angry because of the truth. Because her uncle was dumb enough to believe a fake prophecy, her children were in danger. She would not forgive any of them.“Yeah, I get it, but you need to calm down. We need to ask him a few more things. We need to get a solid plan. I’m guessing that we can’t just burst into the hideout and reveal the truth to Thorin now can we?” Rogan asked Coby. Rogan crouched down beside Nina’s figure. He didn’t touch her. He wanted to hug her but he needed to keep his distance.Coby bit hi
Nina’s eyes widened in shock at the teenager’s appearance. The teenager, Coby, paled when he saw her as well.“Do you know him?” Rogan asked.“Yes, he…is one of my son’s friends from the Lycan realm.” Nina stared at Coby with shock and confusion. What was Coby doing here? And how did he get here? Wait…was he somehow involved in this? Nina’s thoughts were going wild as pondered about this.“Where did you find him?” Rogan asked as he glanced at the boy in his subordinate’s grip.“He was hiding in the bushes nearby.” The man responded.“Let him go and close the door,” Rogan ordered his man to let go of Coby. The boy could not run even if he wanted to. They were currently in the living room of the house. They had to stay there for a while and plan things. The man nodded respectfully and left. Just like Rogan had thought, the boy did not consider moving. He just nervously stood in a spot. Rogan stared at the boy with a strong aura radiating off him. His gaze scared the boy and he was prett
Nina’s eyes widened in shock at what was happening. She could not properly grasp the situation.“Is..she…dead?” Nina asked with a trembling voice. The machines in the room were making some strange noises. Nina could hear the machine tracking Lyra’s vital make a monotone noise. It wasn’t beeping anymore, it signified that Lyra was indeed gone. It shocked Nina. Wasn’t Lyra supposed to last for longer than that? And what did her last words mean? It felt like there was still a lot she didn’t know or understand. How had Lyra met Thorin? Why did she team up with him? What was her reason? Did Lyra just die without even making things clear?!“It seemed she used her last burst of strength to speak. She must have given up after she got the message through.” Doctor Tim said as he came forward. He had a frown on his face. He had immediately sent someone to inform the Alpha.“Huh? What message? What message did she get through? Do you mean her scattered words are a well delivered message? How does
When Nina finally saw Lyra’s figure in the ICU, she almost couldn’t stomach it. Her body wasn’t even complete. She had lost her two legs from the knees down. One of her arms was gone and she looked emaciated. She was connected to so many wires. Her face had a claw scar on it, Nina realized that it was the scar that Rogan had left. All in all, she did look like someone who had just a few hours left. It was sad. Nina honestly wondered why she would do this to herself.“Is she conscious right now?” Nina asked Doctor Tim. He nodded.“Just go ahead and talk to her, we’ll be here listening closely.” Doctor Tim said as he monitored her vitals.“Okay.” Nina walked closer to Lyra. She felt a bit uncomfortable at the sight. When she got close enough to Lyra, she noticed that Lyra was awake. Her eyes were barely open as she seemed to stare into space.“Lyra?” Nina called out to her. Lyra flinched before she looked at her. When Nina made eye contact with Lyra, her eyes widened slightly. She seems
After Nina’s little spat with Nayla and Gabrielle, she walts into the dungeon to ask Rayne some questions. After a round of questioning, Nina finally gets the facts down. She is ready to go back to share this information with Rogan and the rest. She knows that Rogan is still at the hospital so she goes to meet him there. This time on her way, she does not encounter any strange or disturbing individuals. It is a sign that her warnings had worked, she didn’t even see the previous pair that had bugged her.At the hospital, Nina paid extra attention to the people a the hospital, it seemed that more and more people had been getting discharged. Werewolves healed fast so this wasn’t surprising. Nina watched to see if she would see any familiar faces but she didn’t. Although it could mean that some of the people she could remember were not hurt and admitted to the hospital, or it could ultimately mean they were dead. Rogan had told her about the graveyard behind the pack, she would go there t
